  • Actually that "2nd law of thermodynamics" was how Erwin Schrodinger defined life. Not a biologist, but an interesting treatise non the less.

  • These people are so dumb. Every time they throw in all kinds of scientific concepts along with evolution, and think they understand something. How stupid can you get? Evolution says very little about the origin of life, the big bang, or atheism even. idiots.

  • I do not think you have debunked these idiots quite well enough and you should go into more detail on how these idiots are idiotic.

  • These.... these stupid people make my brain hurt....

  • I think lots of these people have evolution confused with mutationism which was dropped 200 yrs ago because there was no evidence. They try to discredit evolution by confusing it with mutationism. I think some truly don't understand & I think some intentionally mislead & promote flawed thinking in an attempt to promote creationism.

  • Ray Comfort reminds me of a teacher I had in high school. He said that he thought it was so cool that God created us with our ears located in just the right spot on our heads that glasses fit over them nicely.

  • I'd like to see anyone who is citing the second law of thermodynamics tell me anything about the other 3.

  • @fullmetalfan32

    yes! the Zeroth law.

  • Watching these vids, I can feel brain cells die. So, am I made smarter because the weaker cells have been killed off?

  • @R4t10n4L Please, make more blatant Ad Hominems, and don't make any actual points, I beg of you.

  • @suicidefilming You do realize "ad hominems" have to be directed at a specific person, right? And Potholer54 makes the case against these delusionoids quite effectively.

  • @R4t10n4L Ah, my bad, I misinterpreted your comment, I thought you were trying to insult Potholere54, my bad.

  • @suicidefilming Apology accepted.

  • the guy at 5:00 has a hole in his head.He has an excuse.

  • Wow!!! a talking dog and a talking cat owned by the same idiot!!!

WHAT ARE THE CHANCES? It must be Jesus´ hand at work!!

  • Ray Comfort will be laughed at all the way to the bank... maybe I should write a creationist book, it's the only readers that would buy the crap I could produce but what the hell. It's not like I'm gonna burn in hell for spreading gods lies am I?

  • 5:18 the big bang and no it doesnt

  • "rocketed up the amazon.com rankings on it's FIRST DAY"

Wow amazing! His book had a higher ranking than before when his book was not ranked. Take THAT Harry Potter...

  • These people are so stupid they don't even realize they're being stupid. They can't tell the difference between biology, physics or cosmology yet they're never hesitant about yapping moronic crap. As my dad said, "It's OK to be stupid but for god's sake, why does he have to advertise it all the time?"

  • I can actually see the side of the argument that says that all process in the world except for the big bang tend towards chaos

The second law of thermodynamics describes macro-states, of micro-particles, that is; it states that in all process, more enthalpy(total internal energy; basically heat) is generated than other forms of energy. And that it is very VERY unlikely that other forms of energy are generated from enthalpy

Whereas in the big bang enthalpy is converted into other forms of ener

  • @gigetyG The Universe IS tending towards chaos. Look at it this way, what is more "organised"; all matter in their most primitive state packed up in the smallest space possible, or a huge universe filled massive spaces of nothing, with the odd peaks in mass dotted here and there, which is whirling, exploding, being sucked in to black holes and spewed out again.

  • srry but u did one very bad mistake . sincitypreacher and adauto loureco are talking about the universe not the earth. the universe is not gaining any energy from outside and is a closed system, so it should become more chaotic, but it doesnt.

  • @WAZZA1235 The universe IS running down as a whole, closed system. But that has nothing to do with how life gets it's energy. Life is an open system, we get our energy from the sun.

  • BWAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA

  • I love how the horse on the book cover (1:50) is clearly crossing that water and not trying to go for a drink.

  • @klutterkicker that horse isnt even really in water. the water plane was added in digitally.

  • @stiimuli LOL! I guess that's what they call being up to your neck in BS.

  • At about 1:40, I honestly believed that it was an atheist speaking only to mock Ray Comfort.

It's sad when someones actual argument sounds entirely like satire to you...

  • @MackanK94 Same deal with "Troll or Moron" its impossible to tell when they do it right

  • Very good vid, keep it up. Anything that mentions Kent Hovind is gold

  • does ray comfort realize that modern dogs were selectively bred by our ancestors to have desirable traits? i guess not, its a similar situation to the modern banana, and he seemed rather clueless about that

  • i wish instead of a jesus fish or even the darwin fish(im not sure what its called lol) for my car, i could have a golden crockoduck

and i dont mean i want one because i said something stupid but just because i think it would be funny

  • Of course his dog and cat talk... Didn't Adam and Eve once meet a talking snake???

  • His dog gets depresed while he's outta town...but his wife jumps for joy!!!

  • All animals can secretly talk.

I stepped on the dog one time and in a moment of confusion he said "FFS wil you watch where you are fucking ste......I mean.....WOOF!" When I said "OMG you can talk?" he just started licking his balls and looked at me out the corner of his eye.

  • "Comfort apologised for his mistake about the banana ..." Is it just me or does this statement sound absolutely ridiculous?!

  • Like what you do and like how you do it. What is even more amazing is your calmness ... I mean, keeping it together and not loosing your mind while listening at all the b.s. these "believers" say. I must learn how to mange my mind like you ...

Hope you do not stop ... greetings from Ljubljana

  • It is so funny when creatards pretend they know about science.

  • "I got a cat that talks...What?"

    lol

  • Potholer...absolutely LOVE your videos. I'm so glad that you, AronRa, Tfoot, NonStampCollector, DonExodus, et al exist in the virtual world to fight against these IDiots with reason and sanity - a heartfelt THANK YOU!

  • @R0Om101 check out ProfMth he is good as well

  • about 1:10. I disagree. I'd guess that 90% of atheist have no scientific background.

I might not understand the scientific fields that religions question. But i can compare the basics on those topics i learned in school to the religious explanation. And it really doesn't take much research to come to a conclusion which one makes more sense. Most atheists are not scientists. They just base their opinion on what is more likely to be true instead of what they WANT to be true.

  • Okay, so Comfort thinks that dogs were the first creatures to have eyes and doesn;t realise that animals evolve in groups not as individuals. How about not criticising evolutionary theory unless you have at least a secondary school level understanding of it?

  • Get a load of Pat Robertson's creepy fucking leer at 2:33.

  • I've discovered that the end of my penis fits into the nozzle of my vacuum cleaner.

Is God trying to tell me that this is what I should do?

  • How have I not stumbled across this other channel of yours until just now? Well, better late than never so a-subscribin' I will go. :)

  • Comfort's spontaneous dog example is even more fundamentally flawed than you revealed. He makes the very basic error of mistaking species for gender. Ray: male and female are not separate species, they are gender expressions within the same species.

    .

Does his ignorance know no bounds?

    .

A lifetime achievement award must be in the works for this guy.

  • The cowardly and deceitful about Comfort's "apology" ( watch?v=XHaSZtf5I1k ) is it starts and ends with him trying to deflect his own responsibility and make the whole thing Richard Dawkins' fault.

    .

He then attempts to discredit Dawkins by replaying the famous (and entirely playful) speculation on an extraterrestrial origin for life (as extracted and bastardised by the ever deceitful Ben Stein).

    .

Here's how an apology goes, Ray: "I was wrong. I am sorry."

    .

    No excuses, no blaming others...

  • At 0:46 "My apologies for not explaining myself more clearly. I was not aware that the common banana had been so modified..."

How the hell did he get "...not explaining myself more clearly" from "I was not aware..." The problem had nothing to do with explaining himself [more clearly.]

Starting off like that is just a pathetic attempt to water down his apology. The problem is much simpler. He's got shit for brains and he's lying for jebus (or more likely for a lot of money.)

  • "In an effort to make him look foolish" That had me in stitches.

  • this video is awesome.

    you are awesome.

  • What a fun and funny video!

  • "Why is it so hard for these people to read a book?" A-freakin-men!

  • Its so excruciating to watch these people talk about things they don't even understand!

  • Krateros Soter explained (down 9 months ago) that saying that "energy tends toward entropy" is not a correct interpretation of thermodynamics, although it has the right idea. In thermo entropy is a measurable property of a system. Maximal entropy is one in which the system is entirely uniform and homogeneous; in particular, every part of the system is at the same temperature, has "reached thermal equilibrium".

  • ... Minimal entropy has some parts hot, other parts cool, because it is in the movement of heat from hot parts to cool parts that work can be accomplished. So the correct statement is that "entropy proceeds to a maximum."

  • The Second Law is that entropy always increases in a closed system; that is, heat always flows from hot to cold areas, thus equalizing their temperatures. The movement can be slowed almost to nothing using insulation and such technology, but it can never be stopped entirely, much less reversed - in a closed system, nota bene.

  • Oh my god, that 'dog' thing is even worse then the banana thing....

  • Actually, single addition or subtraction mutations are usually quite dangerous, as they change every single amino acid that the gene codes for after the mutation location. However, point mutations (one nucleotide changes into a different one through copying error) only changes 1 amino acid, and so are significantly safer. Not all mutations are equal :)

  • @gimmethegepgun However, 3 addition/subtraction or addition followed by a subtraction or vice versa will only change those between them. Forgot about that

  • @gimmethegepgun: Better to say that base addition/deletion mutations are more likely to result in zygote failure rather than substitution mutations, which, when they appear in an exon, will most usually result in a neutral mutation as the functional part of a protein is normally a very small part of the protein.

  • Another great video, potholer.

    Keep up the good work.

  • Hehe, I think 5:10 hit his head

  • @Albukhshi

You are correct, but don't forget that even with better schools and better teachers, Christians will still persist in decrying evolution and saying it has been proven wrong. They will never stop, as long as there are things being taught in the public schools that disagree with and disprove their phony baloney religious beliefs.

  • @tekbarrier

sorry for the late reply. you are indeed correct: there will of course always be a fringe group out there who'll reject modern science. simply put: there are people out there beyond help.

but give the general population better and more phocused education-that would weaken, and even break, the hold of creationism on the public-the hold we see in Brazil, the US, or anywhere else where primary education sucks.

  • 4:16 - Hate to break it to you, Potholer, but you're starting to develop an Aussie accent. Give it a couple more years, and you're going to be speaking like NonStampCollector.

  • My dog tries to talk to me. There's all kinds of videos on youtube showing dogs and cats responding or initiating vocally to their masters. Of course as far as evidence of simuliarity it's not real scienctific but it is observable. That they can recognize words or that it is how we communicate and that certain words (sounds) result in receiving a desired result.

Just, because someone may or may not have made a mistake in talking about a theory doesn't make them a lier, just mistaken.

  • That darned crocoduck. He just won't leave me alone.

  • can we go ahead and vote for the nominees for the 2012 Golden Crocoduck Award now?

'cause none of these Fronkees are gonna change their minds.....

  • LOL, that guy at about 5:20 has a huge dent in his head. That explains his thought process.

  • Shit, you're right! It's brain damage for sure.

  • @infectingthecrypts Yeah,it's the hole through which they sucked his brain out of his head.

  • @infectingthecrypts He was supposed to get a lobotomy, but the surgeons read out of the bible instead of a medical book, thus they hit the area where you are to do logic.

  • @infectingthecrypts

    what ?

god made dogs so they would fit in cars

on that basis god made humans so they would fit inside buildings

what drug is he taking ?

  • @infectingthecrypts nah that's just where his forehead meets his scalp. You see that a lot on balding guys.

  • @infectingthecrypts Yes, and what a great lighting angle he has chosen at the same time

  • @infectingthecrypts That hole on his head is where his brain was sucked out of.

  • Great! Just one thing... the coerrect is Adauto Lourenço(not Loureco) is a Brazilian creationist.

In a country that needs so much education, now comes people like this one-cell-brain (or just an opportunist) to screw things up.

  • I'm afraid this is a problem in any country lacking aducation, or proper understanding of science.. more schools, and better teachers are in order.

  • agreed 100%

  • Yeah, they seem to be very pleased with their ignorance:)

  • Was the guy from Pensamento Cristo speaking Portuguese?

  • @Doliath Yes,

I think it is from Brazil not Portugal

  • still Portuguese language, man.

like Spain and Venezuela, for instance?

    UK and USA as well?

  • Ok Man...., slight difference but you would know that...... not !

UK and USA, worst example of the same language but an ocean of difference

Just so you know Mr World traveller, People from the south of Brazil would have a hard time understanding somone who lived all their life in lisbon, but you have spent plenty of time in south America and Europe.....

Please Don't !! I will make you look more stooopid than you already do

    I have done the above

  • so u are saying that english isn't basically the same in UK or in the USA?

how come u understand american videos here, u fool?

of course maybe u can't understand a scott quite well, but that's an accent... right? but u'd still understand something he wrote.

and brazil and portugal speak the same too, fool, only diferent accents...

i'm sure ur familiar with 16th century history?

and yes, yes, there are dialects too, no way out for u .

  • all of this, of course, due to the fact that u ignored the fact that in brasil ppl speak portuguese, not brasilian, right chap?

well, now u know, they do.

  • Comment removed

  • Well done arsehole, my wife is half Brazilian, I have an appartment in Coutovello, (20km out side cidade du sol) thats Natal to you numbnuts, so I fully Understand what language they speak, and the differences, probably more than a portuguese national like you tubby self, because I actually get out there and travel and see for myself,

last time you spent a few months in Brazil...........Didn't think so

  • actually i've been there.

    don't be a smart arse.

don't speak what u don't know, i've been all over.

  • Potholer... you've made me laugh with tears.

  • That's a speed hole.

  • Oi Ray, could you be any more stupid?

  • potholer54, you sir are my hero!

  • with some of these guys, i get the distinct impression that they remain willingly stupid and play into the fears of the ignorant in order to make lots of money. Books sales, speaking engagements etc.

Although obviously most do seem to suffer from some sort of psychological disorder.

Typically these guys seem to stay put in the US, amongst the evangelical crowds.

    Thank elvis for that :)

  • The real question is: how can *I* act like a retard to make money?

  • a little thing called Idols/X-factor/got talent etc etc.??

  • @acvossius

But creationism seems like it takes so much less talent!

  • so comfort's sexist too

  • I don't fucking believe that shit about the dog and cat! LMFAO!! That has to be a parody!! Ray Comfort can't be that much of a fucking idiot!!! Jesus Christ!!

  • What did the runners-up get? Big picture of a male chicken?

    -BJ

  • That dog that evolves out of something without eyes or teeth was adorable.

  • As a Mechanical Engineer in training, I really don't see how the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics has ANYTHING to do with this Creationism/Evolutionism argument.

Still, if this law is true, won't the Earth die out quite sooner than you stated in this video Potholer with regards to the "heat death of the universe". (Neglecting the possibility that the universe will "stop" in billions of years.

Anyway, always enjoy watching you vids. Keep up the good work. :-)

  • What happened to the 2008 golden crocoduck awards?

  • So glad this industry is based in america and i don't have to put up with this.

    Go Science!

  • "Turn the lights out."

  • I'd always imagine that the big Creationists and fundies like Patton and Pat Robertson meet in secrecy at their hidden base in the swamps, like the Legion of Doom from the Super Friends.

  • Man the more I think about that, it becomes frightening!

  • Dogs and cats do actually talk. The way humans evolved with populations of cooperative humans working together and thriving, all mammals have similar tendencies and are much smarted than we give them credit. Dogs experience emotions, and we often describe them as happy, sad, scared, ect. It`s only that they are not able to record language and critical thinking that we don`t think about it. Dogs are capable of remembering roughly 50 expressions which goes for cats, whales, chimps, ect.

  • well, sure, they can communicate, but in no way can they speak

  • Sin City get an F+ not a D-. Hey, look on the bright side. It's a high F and 'F' is the first letter in the word FUNNY. Thanks for the laugh. :)

  • forget all this debate!! the point is that creationists are full of shit lol

  • I tend to think that a system in maximum entropy is more ordered. Think about it: random distributions of energy and matter, a system different at every point, vs. something completely uniform. Regardless, entropy is entropy and it increases in a system, not every individual thing.

  • I heard that Kirk Cameron fell in the lake and a crocoduck ate him. Can anyone confirm this ??

  • I can't get over the hole in SinCityPreacher's head.

If there's ever a Crocoduck award category for off-the-wall insane rants, Don Patton is a shoe-in.

But I think Ray Comfort has to take the Golden Crocoduck this year... There is no way in hell that he can misunderstand the theory of evolution in such a fundamental way - he has got to be lying through his teeth.

  • I bet his imaginary talking cat, his imaginary talking dog, his imaginary wife and his imaginary god ar all just imaginary .......... What a PILLOCK !!!

  • "come back when your feeling better" lmao!

  • If languages evolve through time that means that suddenly a guy begins speaking french. That means that a female has to evolve french at the same time in the same place so they can have french speakin kids. It's absurd. I take the Babel tower theory.

  • I hope your jokeing Kam. Ask any engineer or bricklayer you know if you could build a tower up into space using mudbricks, granite and bronze age technology. You should get a quick reply of no dont be an idiot but if he can, NASA would be very interested in a space tower for sure. You guys would make billions!

  • I was joking, but I understand that you didn't notice that.

    Poes Law.

  • Why are there differant languages? It was our ability to speak which helped us to communicate with each other better.

  • "or the ones with the biggest ears ..."

    how subtle ;)

The crocoduck awards are definitely one of the funniest things you can watch on YT.

  • Dr. Earl Tilford Jr. merely fail to prove his point that the theory of evolution has a rational link to support exploitation of the weak.

  • U merely attack the accuracy of their terminology during the last third of the video. Please do the intelligent thing and try to understand their semantics and actually respond to the assertions they make.

Like chaos -> order = emergence of life in their eyes. The same goes for the difference between strong and fit.

  • Had you been paying attention you'd realize he did answer their intended questions. Life can gain order, however the overall entropy will increase. Especially for lifeforms, we generate tons of heat, that more than makes up for any negative entropy. He specified that cooperative groups were more fit for survival. Seems like a good reason for the strong (more fit) individuals to not kill the weaker (less fit) individuals.

  • Well that is the point, he attacks their faulty terminology as in they do not mean entropy when saying chaos.

As well as Dr Earl did assert killing the weak would support the strong without proof.

    It's all semantics.

  • William Lane Craig seriously belongs on this list.

  • "And that the theory of evolution doesn't propose that new species spring fully formed from the uteri of other species..."

Potholer...HeLa might be his answer...and a damnation of his point.

  • If God gave people the knowledge to alter the banana for better hand fit and taste then God must be responsible for all human's great ideas. Err, by Comfort's own logic, God must be an evoluationist!

  • The third guy looks like he has a hole in his forehead.

I'm not saying that to be cheeky or funny. That was literally the first thing I thought when I saw him.

  • same here, that was freaky...

  • That aborigine guy looked badass. Bet he's kicked a koala bears ass.

  • Lets see what else God did. Okay ... we can make small dogs, cats, and bananas. God also gave us the ability to make nuclear bombs so they effectively kill people, dildos so they perfectly fit in vaginas, and child porn so it perfectly fits the needs of pedophiles.

  • First they say God had the ability to create a perfect fruit that fits in the human hand. Once they realize they fucked up and that man made the banana, they say God gave men the ability to make a banana. WTF is that!? And if we find out that Zeus actually gave us the ability, Christians would just keep going with their usual bullshit and say God gave Zeus the ability to give man the ability to create a banana. That's how Christians rationalize shit for everything, including the banana issue.

  • christian = stupid

  • Christians are pathetic. Period. This is what they are good at doing. Once they are proven to be wrong, they twist it around to make themselves right. If proven again wrong, they'll just keep twisting things. They are too stubborn and have too much pride to admit fault. They can't give up their faith and realize their god doesn't exist. They cannot accept evolution no matter how widely accepted it is by the scientific community. They ignore science, and foolishly follow their faith.

  • Ray Comfort All the way! He has my vote.

  • The sincitypreacher at 512, what's up with his forehead? looks like a botched up lobotomy occured

  • if you look at the creations you'll see complete contradictions on everything.

ex: some of them believe that the world is millions yrs old, others 10,000 or 6,000 yrs old.

you can do a whole show on this. It's crazy

  • hahahahaha

The guy at 5:30 has a bullet through his head. no wonder

  • Get a load of that huge dent in sincitypreacher's head.

  • I think Comfort is an early front runner with his just emerged dog hoping against hope that a female dog will evolve soon.

    lol - what a cretin.

  • I love your commentary over Don Patton, lol. Since Hovind one last year, I have a feeling it's Comfort's year to shine, but these YouTube users that have been nominated are pretty... worth contenders themselves. I can't wait for all the nominees to be revealed.

  • I believe that the frequent transmogrification of "fittest" in to "strongest" by theists comes from a misunderstanding of the word. When people colloquially talk about fitness, it is often synonymous with strength obtained by exercise.

This is similar to the mistaking of the scientific definition of the word "theory" with the colloquial one.

It is important to explain what "fit" means in the context of evolution (i.e., well adapted), otherwise even the smarter idiots will never understand.

  • A closed system which has reachd maximum entropy is not the wild, constantly changing, chaotic mess that many creationists would like you to believe, it is unchanging stasis. Even the degradation of matter requires effort, and effort requires that energy be available. At maximum entropy there is no usable energy left. So it makes sense that as our universe grinds slowly toward maximum entropy that fewer changes would occur, although we don't really know whether the universe is a closed system.

  • modern banana is not hybrid. its new liniage that was from wild bananas

  • when these idiots talk about physics my head almost explodes with rage.

  • I am so stealing 8:00 XD

  • I guess you are not using the bullshit buzzer this year is because it broke last year from overuse. When the replacement buzzer comes make sure it can handle the creationist crap.

P.S. love the series and good job on the debunking!!!

  • I never tire of how theists wine on about rules of nature and yet still think that a god that defies those rules can be true.

The bible is nothing more than the best guess at the time.

  • I used to have a ferret that could sing.

  • Good vid, but in the rebuttal to Tilford you seem to intimate that individual characteristics that are beneficial to group survival are selected for. My understanding is that group selection does not exist.

  • Selection of behavior that improves group cohesiveness DOES exist. It simply acts on the individual. In other words, individuals who acquired the tendency to cooperate better with others had an advantage over those who did not, and thus their genetic traits propagated throughout their populations and increased cooperation in human populations.

  • Comment removed

  • Does Ray Comfort really believe in the stuff he's talking about?

  • yes, he's just incredibly and willfully ignorant.

  • Wait... so we SHOULD drop babies off bridges? XD That part cracked me up!

  • 5 stars. lol. perfectly fit his wife *insert sex joke here*. these creationists are more fun then winning a mio. dallars, going to disney land, drinking beer, getting high and getting laid at the same time lol

  • "Or the one with the biggest ears".

    Ouch!

I do wish people would stop thinking of evolution in terms of individuals - it's so misleading. Think *genes* and *populations* and it's much easier to get a handle on it.

  • When a person uses simplistic arguments to refute your opponent, one of the following is true:

    1. That person's opponent has no idea what they're talking about, or

    2. That person has no idea what they're talking about.

And who is more likely to have no idea what they're talking about: a Ph.D. biologist, or a person who thinks science was sent from the devil?

  • These creationists talk as if no scientist has ever considered the idea of a "male dog not being able to find a female dog". So either, all the scientists in the world are idiots, or the creationist who has no idea how speciation works is the idiot. What is more likely? Hmmm...

  • Potholer54: I love you. Not only have you provided me with much knowledge, but much amusement as well. Keep up the good work! Cheers!

  • I'll have a pounds worth of whatever that 'talking cats' guy has had.

  • That a cat can fit your wife? WTF??

If I made a parody of a creationist I couldn't come up with something as stupid as that. Amazing!

  • So the dog evolved without there having been female dogs... How can this guy write and sell books!?

  • ROTFLOL
