People who have ridden both the original 140bhp and the 146bhp roadster all say the original is very noticeably faster in the first couple of gears (and thus quicker acceleration & 1/4s).
This is because a stock roadster has a limiter on the power in 1st & 2nd.

can you get forward controls on this bike?? I want to trade in my 04 america for one -- but love the pegs out front and want to keep that riding style... but man would love to have this bike.

The question is what happened to the power lost a second in time from original R3.Well it would be me conclusion that its strictly the rider who wasn't taking it to its limits.They are only talking about observed time at this track. Not official time from factory spec.s

Sounds fair I suppose! But I was talking observed times also! (Read any old magazine review on R3.) Just would have thought you got the bike on a drag strip your gonna try and see what she can really do! Is that not the point of a Drag Strip Launch to promote a bike?...

The part you don't understand Rocket Man is if you don't have a Rocket III. And you start off with this one at least you'll know in the end the power is there regardless if its 2010 0r an 06 like mine.I was running an R1 yesterday out of Billings Montana and he was impressed that a cruiser could leave him from a stand still. Once he rapped his out he caught me when his was talking 11000 R's. But then I wasn't going to push mine its a cruiser. I enjoy the fact I can push mine if I like.

Dont get it? The original rocket 3 pulls quarter miles in the 11's to 11.30ish second margin! so where is all the extra power going on the new one if they are getting 12 seconds?...
