3) protagonist from annother world (well kinda and kinda not referencing) = ff5

5) shit stops making sense around the end of disk 3 = ff8

there are many other ideas... but really these are some of the stronger ones that spawn from other ff games.

well I would say he dresses that way, because he wants to prove everyone that he is a human (in hiding his Tail etc.) so, the more Skin he shows, the more does everybody think that he is no different from the others.
