@S1aptasticSquadalah It paces the field for the first few laps of the race. As the race progresses, the bike gradually gains speed, allowing the competitors behind to do so. When there are a handful of laps left, that bike pulls off, and the race really begins. It acts sort of like a pace (or safety) car in a car race, with some noticeable differences.

Its a shame that in olympic cycling, there are more events fo the men than there are for the women. If Victoria had the chance to compete for 3 medals like Chris Hoy did, it would have been gold in each one and it would have been Dame Victoria Pendelton.

Listen, there were very few cyclist in that event, any professional commentator would have had the names. its hardly the fault of all the USA though that the commentator was terrible.
