He is a morron that should have been criminaly charge for is actions...
He skate from is bench directly to the player to crosscheck him in the chess sending him literaly flying in the board and start punching him while he was unconscious leaving the player with a broken scalp and you think thats funny you bunch of 2 cells brainer. Just try to do this outside of the ice and you will be sent in jail for murther attempt...
#10 with Quebec, who´s slugging it out with somebody at the 38 second mark, is Pierre Roy, who according to one source of info never won a fight in his WHA career. And he was involved in a lot of them.
@thegoalie41 on 11 April 1976 Jodzio, while playing for the Calgary Cowboys of the WHA, attacked Quebec Nordiques star Marc Tardif with a vicious high-stick during a hockey game in Quebec City. Jodzio's hit caused Tardif permanent brain damage. According to several witnesses, Jodzio hit Tardif repeatedly as Tardif lay helplessly on the ice.
@tinextinex Stop spreading lies. The referee said Jodzio never used his stick on Tardif. WHA VP Bud Poile was in attendance and said Jodzio never used his stick. It was a complete fabrication by the local media. And the Nordiques were the biggest goon squad in the WHA that season. They repeatedly re-set league PIM records. It was a blind-side hit that knocked Tardif out, and when he fell he head hit the ice. And, those two players had several run-ins over the years before this incident.
I saw Rick Jodzio play for the Charlotte Checkers in the SHL before his foray into the brawling WHA. He never really impressed me as a fighter--I saw a Hampton Gulls forward named Curt Brackenberry whip him in a fight, dropping him with an overhand right. John Brophy was the Gulls' coach.
Great stuff. Brawl occurred in April 1976 in lieu of May. This brawl took a full 30 minutes to break up and only ended when Quebec police came onto the ice to restore order. Pretty much what hockey was like back then -- #10 is Pierre Roy and the other Quebec player shown is Gord Gallant who dropped his opponent with a knee to the face. #24 on the Cowboys is Peter Driscoll.
Where's Tardif? I don't see anyone in a white sweater lying unconscious.
