biggest worry would b length of the runway ur landing on,...b nice to figure a way to put thrust reverses on them,...then ya could land almost anywhere...cool....
can't see why not. controller. com has a couple of F5's 750,000.00 price tag, or some mig 21's. they had a SU25 for 5 million there are 2 of them privatley owned in the USA that I know of. they demilitarize them so its just a matter of how much money do you have. because as much as I like the F4 its nothing compared to a SU25 I understand thats like comparing a p51 to the fokker triplane diferent eras. I'm sure you get my point though.
I agree with you 100%. always had a weak spot for the F4. havn't found any for sale yet but again probably based on how much money you have. be a great way to get away for the weekend....
@123456789mischief ...they got a cpl hundred in the desert in AZ,..u would think a guy could buy a cpl & restore them 4 use as a private jet,..think about it,..what is the speed of sound at FL 50?..gotta b almost 800 mph,..so,2 under wing tanks & under belly tanks,..where couldn't u go fast,...Chicago to Naples fl in a hour ten min,.without going supersonic& 15 thou above the air traffic.since a global express is 60 mil,.u could get 2 F4's & still have 30 mil left over, why wouldn't you?
I played for the Bison and we practiced on the outdoor fields. The F-16s would go vertical and roll over to the north. The sound was unbelievable. You couldnt even hear yourself think.
These F-4's were much louder than the F-16's. When they did the rare took off to the south every class on campus would come to a stop because there was no way any professor could shout louder than the phantoms.
The sound of Freedom.
