I started collecting Katanas and other japanese style blades about 12 months ago and intend to start learning the propper tecniques as soon as my hands recover from carpal tunnel surgery.
So far I have a 27,1/2 inch katana and a cas hanwie tactical wakizashi and a Oniyuri style katana with a 23 inch blade & 14 inch tsuka.

Sorry but I don't see proper technique here.
Shattering of bamboo shows that the cut is not clean.
Bamboo going left and right shows that the technique is bad.
Bent elbows is obvious sign of bad technique.
I don't see what is it that you are doing different from what anyone else who haven't got any practice would do. You are just swinging katana.

That's why it's called "practice".
It doesn't teach just the technique, it also trains mind, and forges virtue, such as being "humble".
