I'm a great admirer of Hitchen's work and have a lot of his work on my shelf. Never having met him personally, I can only dare say that I think he seems like a great human being.
One that the world would be very much poorer for losing. So I assume he will survive..he better! The world needs him.

@uncleady1 The Bible never says gays are to be stoned to death. That was a law specifically for the jews that came out of Egypt for a small time. Homosexuality is certainly wrong in Gods sight but Jesus death has paid for ALL sins for those who believe. I have several gay acquaintances that I care about very much. You believe you are righteous in your own eyes based on your own works (loving your family, helping kids etc.).

Hitchens says he is open to God existing, but he hasn't seen any evidence of it, but that is the wrong way to make the statement. Hitchens is putting himself above God and putting the burden of proof on God. Hitchens will not do what is necessary to experience God and have his proof. He must seek God with pure motives, and he must set aside his ego and allow God to "prove" "himself". No atheist I know will do these things, thus they go through life spiritually blind.

I would imagine Hitchens (peace be upon him) retained an open mind in his searches for what is true and what is false, and he made his conclusions a long time ago. It is a mark of a truly great man that he has, at this critical time in his life when he is potentially facing imminent death, that he is not doing any last-minute plea-bargaining with the great blob in the sky (just in case).

@homopt that guy didnt have him cornered at all! if anything, you could see the lack of hesitation in negating any points Craig tried to make....he wasnt shut up with intimidation, he just pauses in annoyance with the lack of comprehension on the other side, as its hard to debate with someone that doesnt listen--even his silence is never a passive silence, which is why i love seeing Hitchens in debates because he can just look at some idiots and denounce them with one of those "really!?" looks

@homopt Hitchens ALWAYS declines his final argument to make room for a prolonged Q&A session. Go to any video of his debates and you'll see that. And Craig hardly used Hitchens as a punching bag in that debate, though I will say that WLC is a really intelligent guy.
