  • good cooper is stuck in the black lodge, this was the doppelganger coop. shame they cut the show.... lynch is amazing.

  • this to me was a CRAPPY ending, especially agent cooper being such a good person caring fbi agent, and we are to believe that he is possessed by bob, come on....bullshit!

  • One of the most haunting scenes in TV series.

  • if only there was one more episode to close the series...but we are stuck with this cliffhanger.

  • Honestly I'm really glad the series ended this way. It left most of the show open for interpretation and I really enjoyed that.

It's also one of the most satisfying plots I've ever watched in my life.

  • I don't think any other piece of art, on television or otherwise, will ever occupy the same place in my heart that Twin Peaks has. The imagery of this show resonates with me far more than anything else I've ever known.

  • Am I the only one that thinks this was not only a great ending, but seemed to really show you that this show is so quirky and twisted that really anything could happen? In my opinion this just shows how great Lynch did in ending the series on a short notice, and in a splendid form

  • Brilliant show but it had gone off the rails much earlier. The understated drama and tension of the first episodes gave way to plot twists and too much quirkiness. The direction and acting were always superb.

  • Coop pulled a Scott Disick

  • DEAR GOD. HOW THE FUCK IS ANNIE!!!!!

  • so annie are you okay, are you okay annie?

  • This was David Lynch's revenge. ABC should not have cancelled the show.

  • The scene cracked me up because I haven't seen all the others.:)

  • Fucked up ending :D

all in all, only a shit taste will be left in your mouth.

    crazy ending xD

  • knowing this was the last episode when i watched this for the first time, i was truly hurt; i dont think a television show could ever make such a unexpected and terrible ending. i know it wasnt on purpose but still this show is my favorite show but it has THE most disappointing end that could ever have happened in this show. If the show ended at any time in the whole series, this point would still be the worst point in the story to end the series.

  • Cue Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal".

  • "Diane, I'm going to go murder some people."

  • WTF!!! Audrey Horne died?!? and Donna's dad is Ben Horne?!?!? and then this ending?!?!? man, what a mind F!!!!!

  • @garywingrove Sherilyn Fenn revealed that Audrey would have survived had there been a third season.

  • @graemeoliver84 that is a pleasant thought

  • Scary final, i just remembered the sad end :(

  • cheap ending?

  • my 90's series better than friday the 3th

  • Annies Good Coop!

  • David Lynch didn't even want to reveal who Laura's killer was... I always wonder how it would have ended if he had complete control over it.

  • Though this was not intended to be the end of the road for Twin Peaks (I definitely wish it wasn't), I felt that it ended off nicely. In a way, this cliffhanger presented David Lynch's talent and really made it shine. Though not the intended ending, it was still a great one. It left me wanting more and yet there was a kind of finality to it that cannot be described: Kind of like Twin Peaks.

  • The soundtrack really shines in this scene, the tantalizing vibes with Bob are the most sinister

  • This was NOT the planned ending of the series! The writers left a bunch of cliffhangers (bank explosion, Ben Horne is Donna's dad, etc.), like they had done at the end of the first season, to try to convince ABC to get them a final season. The third season was already being planned out. However, ratings had dropped so much that ABC ended up cancelling it.

I hope this is some sort of consolation to everyone.

  • This is an alternate ending.

  • @LODGE4444

    Yeah, I think the same.

  • Poor Coop, he was perfect and yet he didn't make it. what hope is there for the rest of us regular people then?

  • I think they ended the series like this to try and convince the suits at ABC to give them a third season. Too bad it didn't work.

  • I really really hope that they planned for a third season. And I hope that, in the dimension that is television, Cooper is still drinking coffee in a diner in Twin Peaks.

  • Mirrors are more fun than television!

  • This can't possibly be ending! David Lynch always gives such clear answers to things, this is so different from everything else he's done.

  • @Ichiboy900 the idea was to have a third season but clearly that didnt happen, the other idea was to have a second movie to fire walk with me but the movie did very badly, so in the end we only have a very disturbing a and sad cliffhanger ending

  • @genesis098123 Yeah it is a shame. But I was thinking that maybe since Dale Cooper dreamed he was 25 years older in the Black Lodge, maybe since Kyle Mclaughlin is almost 25 years older David Lynch could make a second movie in 2015. Probably wishful thinking, but it would make since.

  • @Ichiboy900 that would be great, and it woud make sense. i know that is a diferrent susbject but psych made a tribute episode named dual spires, is agood episode and theres a lot of the cast twin peaks in it

  • @Ichiboy900 have you ever watched Eraserhead? David didn't clear anything there

  • @bisys2 My apologies, sometimes I forget that you can't really express sarcasm through text.

  • the only thing i got out of this scene was that they problably planneda season 3 XD

  • Just finnished watching this episode a few minuts ago, This episode was so fucking disturbing, but yet so great. Dale Cooper was the most heartwarming and best character ever. And then he ended up like this. So sad =(

  • Get it? JOHN MIRROR!

  • i was sooooo pissed when it ended this way i stood up and shouted "HELL NO!"

  • so, how's annie?

  • Good scene, but this ending pissed me off.

  • I loved but hated the ending.... hopefully they will bring it back ?? maybe ?

  • @the1orlylover i dont think theyre going too because all the actors are really old now and kyle who was dale cooper dosent look like cooper much anymore

  • @kallemick

It could be better that way. Maybe since this last scene, Cooper has been in an asylum under Bob's possession for all the following years. The town of Twin Peaks went back to being a peaceful community until all of a sudden another teen death happens, stirring things up again. If they can reboot 90210 on the CW network, surely someone can bring this show back

  • Best Finale EVER!

  • One more time seeing this and i think that i lll need psicological support.

  • The last two episodes of TP: scariest TV ever!!

  • The scariest thing about this scene is how he wastes all that toothpaste. :(

  • have to say that a pretty creepy laugh...

  • Great Acting by Kyle.

  • Just watched the 2 series great show

  • One of the few truly scary endings i've ever seen. Evil triumphs (though it might not have if there had been more)

  • God I loved this ending. Too bad it was cancelled before we found out what happened to Cooper.

  • i'm also sorry about the ending, but this is exactly what suits to such an amazing work by a great director.pitty he did not direct all yhe episodes.

  • This wasn't supposed to happen :( poor Cooper.

  • Wow BOB Wow you are still the winner!!!!!

  • I hv just seen the whole series Twin peaks.. i love it but god i hate this ending right now :D

  • @KatsuDe alot of ppl dont realize this is not how they wanted to end it... they just didnt get picked up for a third season so they couldn't continue... they didnt want this to be THE ending of the series, but they had no choice

  • @ndgambella yes i know but this end is still very sad.. and very great after you think of it.

  • I wasn't wild about this ending, but the movie totally saves it. I took the final moments, of Laura and Coop sitting the Black Lodge watching the angle, to mean that both of them (although dead to the real world) descended into the White Lodge rather than staying in the Black Lodge, a far happier conclusion than the one we see here.

  • @thebaloob123 Although its not clear if both Cooper and Laura are taken by the angel, I like to think that both of them were.

  • This ruined Twin Peaks for me and now I warn people not to see it because it's full of the sorcery from the black lodge.

  • COOPER is a killer acording to the book The awls are not what they seem. I hate this cliffhanger, i could be much more better series if it was closed:(

  • What's with all the negative votes on previous comments? Vote them back up, that's b.s.

  • fucked up

  • so what happens next?

  • This may be just me, but I feel like the first black lodge dream was Cooper leaving the black lodge. He looks older, and sees Laura Palmer again

  • he mad

  • wuwuwu :(

  • This was the most surreal American tv series ever. And I loved it!

  • noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo... all that toothpaste to waste!

  • feeding on his love (fear) for annie.. so sad...

  • @waistnotime i know eh i watched the whole series Cooper was my fav character and this breaks my heart

  • Always gives me nightmares.

  • Well, this ending is both brilliant and confusing. I must admit that I really don't like the thought of the great agent Dale Cooper turning into a mass murderer with Bob inside his head... I would much more enjoy that either Bob just disappeared or at least didn't choose COOPER to be his new "doll". It just... Distroys Cooper's fine character. :/

  • Everything in twin peaks regards duplicates

Maddy and Laura - Both Sheryl Lee,

'Two cups of coffee a day' said by coop to Harry,

'I will tell you two things' - said by the giant

    'white and black lodge' opposites

'doppleganger' said by the dwarf translates to "double walker" - The good and evil cooper

    reflections pervade every episode,

with this finale showing what we all had in our minds but could not dare to believe.

Even the name 'Twin Peaks' follows this theme. with another double.

  • This upsets me. Cooper was my hero.
