We have seen that Obama cannot be an Article II “natural born Citizen” because when he was born, regardless of what place that may be, he was not born to a United States citizen father and mother. The "natural born Citizen" clause of our U.S. Constitution requires that both of the child’s parents be U.S. Citizens at the time of birth.

@9nunyabiz9 In Minor, it says that the citizens born on US soil to two US citizen parents are definitely Natural Born Citizens. However, they are not the only class of citizens defined as such. Further down in the opinion, the Chief Justice writes that for the purpose of the case, the Supreme Court will not be defining Natural Born Citizen. Stop reading the blogs and actually try and learn something before you post. Minor v. Happersett does not define Natural Born Citizen.

@tgear77 TWO CITIZEN PARENTS and BORN on the SOIL = "n.b.C.". NO OTHER DEFINITION HAS E V E R BEEN RECOGNIZED. NEVER! The written history of the definition begins in 42 B.C. and it has gone from generation to generation without being changed or challenged as "true and correct". Law is not like automobiles, it seldom changes. The definitions of theft, murder, battery, robbery, rape, natural born Citizen, subject of the crown, etc., etc., do NOT hang by a thread, they are written in stone.

@9nunyabiz9 Sorry, but it does not. In fact, British Common Law refers to such a citizen as one born on its soil to a citizen father. The mother's status does not matter. That was the law the Founders were most familiar with. Some try to claim that they got such a term from "The Law of Nations", but the book did not use the phrase until an English translation in 1797.
As for the law, it is constantly changing. The fact that you do not know this shows your stupidity.

@9nunyabiz9 No it has not. Cicero spoken of citizenship in 42 BC in his famous "Enemy at the Gates.." oratory, but he never used a phrase even remotely close to "Natural born Citizen". You should try Aristotle, for he spoke of citizenship in line with what you propose. I have no problem with you referring to them because they are not part of the US legal canon. @9nunyabiz9 Thanks for asking. I am fluent in French, as well as three other languages. You are wrong (again), but that is par for the course. In de Vattel it says, "Les naturels, ou indigenes..." which translates into English as "The Naturals, or indigenous (people)..." If the phrase "Natural Born Citizen" had been in there, it would have been "Les Citoyens de naissance". Don't bother checking because that phrase is not in the entire book. Once again, you are wrong.
