  • Wrestling at its finest!

  • How about that pop for the X-Press!

  • 1:27 Priceless. I remember this and still love it better than the wwf/e

  • @Lasertrain I agree!!!!!! NWA,UWF,AWA!!!

  • I was only 2 lol

  • This was a great match. Was between 15 and 20 minutes I think.

  • What is that I hear? Is it a loud audience? It has been years since I heard one of those in wrestling... I mean sports entertainment.

  • 0:35 uahhhhhhhh go cry to mommy.

  • one of the best tag teams ever beautiful bobby and sweet stan, history lesson lane is also a member of another great team the fabulous ones

  • man you forget how good the in ring wrestling was back then dam wwe new era sucks......

  • I was at this show live - it really is a shame that the match is so clipped, it was a great match.

I can also see myself in the crowd. Man, I had a lot of hair then. :)

  • I hear you. Turner Home Entertainment was notorious for trimming footage from threre tapes.

  • 1:46 - "BOBBY! STAN! HELP MEEEEE!!!" Get comfortable in that cage, Looney Tunes. No help is coming.

  • I like the Fantastics a lot. Their feud with the the Sheep Herders was bloody and legendary, that was before Vince got the sheepherders to run around acting like brain damaged versions of popeye. I'd like to see some of the sheepherders/fantastic matches

  • I thought Ross is friends with Cornette. Why is he talking shit about him?

  • Cornette's a heel. This is the Kayfabe era. Ross wouldn't tell fans he was friends with the conniving mama's boy Jim Cornette.

  • the fantastics now run toughman competitions and mma events.i won one of their toughmen and have fought four times in their events.hell i even bought a cage from them for my gym.great guys BROTHER LOL

  • See those wimps the fantastics were sore losers. Long live the midnight express.

  • @JohnnyBondage1 I would have just focused the camera on Tommy Rogers ass and filmed the whole match from there.

  • It is hard to believe this happened over 20 years ago. This is the kind of stuff that kept me hooked on wrestling. I ate it up. Even now, I mark out for it.

Today's "product" is garbage in comparison to this stuff.

  • It's just criminal that the match was clipped down to five minutes for the home video release =-(

  • The first pay-per-view in 1988 for the NWA, the second overall. The night of the 4 Horsemen controversy. All the Horsemen kept the belts; World, US, and World tag. US and World by controversy. I hope someone has the Luger-Flair match from this event.

  • This is their second in 88 and third overall. You may be forgetting the very forgettable "Bunkhouse Stampede" from January 88 which had wider distribution than the earlier Starcade 87, but really sucked as a show.

  • And Cornette was afraid of heights for real! That's what so great about this.

  • Two great teams

1 ass of a match, seriously that shit was like 3 minutes long.

  • right on dude, awesome teams, fuckin match was too short

  • From that POP of the crowd you would have thought The Fantastics won if you turned ur head for a second! lol

  • this is one of the best referee EVER in wrestling business, Tommy Young!!!!!

  • I must say the pop that the Midnight Express got upon winning that title was much higher than the pop they got when they were introduced. I take it they were tweeners?

  • Yes, with much momentum in their favor, they beat Arn and Tully for the Big Belts a few months later; those two left for the WWE and Heenan.

  • CLASSIC!!!! Great post...

  • Teams Like The Miz and Morrison and Rhodes and Dibiase should watch this and learn something. Two classic teams and a great match!

  • I just posted a little tribute vid on my profile of the Midnight Express

  • I loved both these teams and this was a great match NWA was great! No one threw a dropkick like Tommy Rodgers.

  • If I was a wrestler I want Arn Abderson

  • i thought they lost the belts to sullivan and williams? did they regain them from the midnights after this?

  • No. The Midnight Express vacated the NWA United States Tag Team titles after winning the NWA World Tag Team titles from Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard on September 10th, 1988. The Fantastics won the titles in a tournament that culminated at the Clash Of The Champions on December 7th, 1988, and held them until Starrcade '88, where they lost them to Kevin Sullivan and Steve Williams.

  • Maybe his mommie can help him!!

  • Great mananger he was indeed! Personally I miss watching Cornette run for cover behind his bodyguard Big Bubba!

  • RIP Big Bubba aka Big Bossman aka Ray Traylor

  • Is it just me of getting Jim Cornette in the jacket and cage took longer than the match itself? LOL God I miss him as a manager. Hes ok as 'commisioner' of TNA but he was at the top of his game with the MX, either as faces or heels. The best fued was with The 'Orignal' MX.

  • i believe shortly after this match the ME went on to beat the Horsemen to win the World Tag titles and become the first team ever to hold the World and US tag titles simultaneously

  • yeah, exactly two months later.

  • I meant to say "If I was a wrestler.."

  • If I was a wrestling, I'd want Bobby Eaton as my partner.

  • Same here.

  • beautiful bobby didnt need that chain...he threw a wicked right hand with out it!!

  • i saw this long time ago this was funny i love the boy but it was funny..

  • did you hear that crowd pop win the midnight express won they were the most popular heel team at the time

  • Midnight Express was so good that crowd would pop for them no matter what. The funny thing is this was during the time the fans were cheering the face and booing the heel.

  • The Midnight Express and The Road Warriors were the best teams. When they were heel, the fans cheered for them, no matter what.

  • Ironic comment by the announcer (JR?) around the 2:55 mark saying how both teams do explosive matches going for big home run moves. Why is this ironic? As he's saying this, there is a standing side headlock being applied in the ring.

Nothing says home run like a resthold! :P

Too bad this is the mega-edited version of the match rather than the full 16+ minutes. :(

  • LOL @ :43, MOMMY'S LITTLE BAY-BEE!

  • even tony sounds on point

  • pok giibbbbi adama acıdık ama yaaa

  • To user of this video: Did you edit this?

  • The Bash 88..It was like $14.99 on ppv , and some of the best wrestling, and one of the best events of the era if not ever..

  • great match, I miss NWA wrestling.

  • that was real wrestling then now there is only a little bit of real now going but this her was real
