I use a medium 1mm by clayton. Thats the only pick I ever use. It grips good even though it doesn't have any grip. I think it's best for tremolo,chords and sweeps.
I cover hella songs. For black metal, yea only DF. I'd cover other black metal bands but I get most training on chords and tremolo with Dark Funeral songs. Chord progressions are perfectly composed making it easy for me to learn by ear. Plus, It's just evil sound.

Yea, Controlled picking. I rarely see someone pick like that. The chorus riff just sounds evil. You have to pick every note to get that evil sound.
