mmm, i wouldnt say nobody besides federer coud hit that kind of shot. remember atp world tour finals, between roger and rafa? rafa hit an astonishing backhand in the same angle roger hit that shot. Obviously fed hit it with class, but rafa could achieve the same angle.
But Federer isn't as aggressive as he was way back when. There were sparks of how Federer was in the 08 US Open as well as throughout 2006, but if you compare Federer 09 to Federer 06, then you know that Federer still has another gear to win Grand Slams with.
@JL6293 the courts get slower every year but the players hit harder, so federer's on the defensive more often than before, add to that the fact that he lost his "aura" around 08, and the natural aging/ problems that come with it like the back problems he had, there's no way he can keep that level consistently like he could before. there are still stretches like Cincy the last couple of years where he's untouchable, or the Masters Cup/AO this year, he can still reach that gear though.
@demondayzzz He lost aura right after the 2007 Masters Cup because of the stupid mono. It was always gonna happen, but with the mono it happened too soon. I bet he wins the Australian Open that year, and even in the Wimbledon final he played horrible, every other shot was in the lower part of the net! Obviously there are different cases of mono, Fed's wasn't as extreme as say Mario Ancic, who took so so long to fully recover from that, if he indeed has, he hasn't been playing these days.

Insanely fast transition from Federer at 7:58, one of the best parts of his game IMO.

@PulseHit espn commentators tend to exagerate. it was a nice shot but yeh its not incredibly hard by any means. wasnt even near the line

Federer used to be so agressive, specially on his serve: 2 or 3 shots from the baseline and then rush to the net!

yeah...he is fully confidence to all games
A real unbeatable KING

@davd1986 thankfully it wasn't as bad as ancic's. even roddick had mono at some point last year but i don't think it affected him too badly.

YES, indeed Haas has everything as Federer

2 bad injuries and a hot temper have kept Haas from winning at least 1 major

"nobody can hit that shot, nobody"
Thats one of my fave comments on the brilliance of Federer. I just love that quote.
