I still do NOT understand why people think they can beat a train. In the epic battle of Car Vs Train, has it ever ended Car-One, Train-Zero? NO. I have traveled by Amtrak many times and was on one when it struck a car that had stalled on the tracks. Thankfully, there was nobody in the car by the time my train hit it. But when I saw it fly and how crushed it was, I knew nobody could have survived if they were still in it. It didnt even look like a car anymore, just a pile of metal and junk.

What makes this so sad is it happens so often. It's not rare. People don't pay attention or think something like this could never happen so they drink or text or just try to be cool like those guys behind the semi. I was riding with a few of my brothers friends and they were going 100 on the highway swerving in and out between cars. I was so terrified I about started crying. It's called an accident for a reason. If people planned for it to happen it would be called that. So sad

One can see that speeding is the major factor in the accident followed by doing something illegal (blowing red light or stop sign, illegal passing). Distraction is one of the majors too.
