  • starwars!

  • wowww! the planes on the night sky are amazing! Did you use this intervalometer:

These guys have an infrared remote time-lapse device for every major brand of cameras: tempus.bymac.org

Ahhh.. your cameras does not support infrared?

what about a mechanical intervalometer that straps to your camera and physically presses the button for you? : tempusall.bymac.org

    Looks like some cool ideas.

Great Job on their part, and visit their website!

  • Preciosas imágenes...felicidades! Un saludo

  • Beautiful !

  • SUPER!!!!

  • lmao @ that 1 messed up light

  • how does time lapse photography work??

  • Take Pictures every X seconds of the same scene, stream them together as an X (usually 24-30) frames per second video

  • These are awsome. Your video inspired me to try my own: check "time lapse experiment #19", "time lapse experiment #21" or "aprado17". Cheers!

  • its so calming (:

    love it

  • anyone have a name for this song? its gorgeous

  • It's the main theme from Gattaca movie

    ★★★★★

  • Wow!

  • Very cool, I am going to try some.

I like the Airport with all the planes coming into land.

  • That was absolutely wounderful. Thank you so much much who ever you are. Bless your eyes and hands.

  • hey what about the shutter in the 20D, i bet it gets pretty busy to get shot like this..?

    anyone?

..or i'm gonna try it on my new 1000D..!

  • The airport!

I always wanted to see such a footage, what a present!

    ★★★★★

  • we are just blurs on a spec of dust in the grander scale of time and space.

  • Wonderful compilation. True artistry.

I've been experimenting with time lapse a littl, and I was wondering, was this shot at a high ISO in order to get the frames timed a little tighter?

  • 1:27 - 1:35 Airplanes... amazing

  • what is the name of this song

  • Gattaca OST by Michal Nyman.

  • great video!!!!! that camera has a lot of hours logged!!

  • Just 82,289 views in 1 & 1/2 years ? That's a bit discouraging for such a fantabulous time-lapse video....

  • loved the planes very good my friend done a similar advert for media course was good

  • Inspiring. A symphony of humanity. Keep going!

  • i just found this video and i am completely taken away! i can not believe you did this with a camera. i have a 40D and now i am not going to be able to wait til the night to try it but i am sure i will not come anywhere close to you! keep it up!

  • thanx alot i will try it

    keep it up

  • is this cam or video?

  • its not a video camera, this called time lapse.

you put the camer on a tripod, and take a picture every 10 seconds (may be les or more).

then use any movie maker software, and you'll get what you're seeing.

  • EXCELLENT!

  • The airstrip scene was pretty amazing.

  • nice

  • probably in the movie Gattaca, its original sound track!

  • I would like to know how can one make such a video with time lapso photography - I mean, beside your digital camera, what are the tools, hardware and software you use to stitch the different photographs and convert them in sucha a beautifull video?

  • whoa the airport was sick!

  • I have to say that this vid, while intentional or not, conveys this idea that life just speeds by and if we don't slow down, we're gonna miss opportunities that come our way. The background always is the same, but never life, I mean, the world is permanent, time is a luxury that cannot be bough. Simply a beautiful video set to beautiful music.

  • omg i got goosebumps

  • Is there any way I can get the raw video file of this via email? I'm producing a video for my church and we need time lapse photography images to illustrate a key part in a play we're doing. This video is very well done and illustrates the fast pace of life beautifuly. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • beautiful!

  • makes me feel peaceful and sad.

    what's the song called??

  • the music is from the (also beautiful and thought provoking) movie Gattaca and is composed by Michael Nyman - the one you may know from the ost of The Piano.

  • sweet O_O

  • very good !

but the "599 PRODUCTIONS" in the middle of pic "sucks" :-)

very good music! "music of the spheres"

it woulda be great if this short movie would have ended with the dawn....but its all cool thou

  • 2:04 is soooo sweet

  • Absolutely Beautiful.

Not many things made by our hands are, but this was truly amazing. Photography is such an amazing hobby. It offers a different perspective on life and can really help you develop yourself. (no pun intended)

  • Great Shots! Great Video! Great Music...

This made an impact on me personally realizing that there are several beautiful places and moments that needs to be captured in photo.

Myself, being a new enthusiast in photography is starting to make it as a hobby and was more so inspired by this clip.

Thank you for sharing this masterpiece of yours.

  • The music is entitled "The Arrival" and it's from the Gattaca soundtrack. Great work! I especially liked the airport sequence. Thanks!

  • It's so beautiful!!

  • the elevators at :35 are amazing!

  • nice work dude!

  • Great video PLEASE move the logo!

  • heya dude, nice timelapse!

how long were you at each spot for?

I love these kinda grand wideshots you picked. I especially love the airport with all in planes bombing it in and out like missiles. And how creepy is it that the buildings never seem to change but everything else does?

  • this is wonderful video. I love the music to accompanies it.

  • u got some skills

  • omg i saw my car.

  • This is so awesome, the music makes me all emotional.

  • Great video

  • The airport segment was superb. It really shows the pattern in something that is otherwise seemingly abstract.

Although, I felt some of the other shots were a little bit redundant.

  • The time lapse of the airport was amazing

  • thats what we do all day eveyday just moving along, day by day. execept thoes breif moments when time stops, when your looking in the eyes of the one you love.

  • awesome video

  • what city is it ?

  • i think it's new york?

  • i don't think so. maybe some part of that. read information by author: Time lapse photography from around the world.

  • L.A.X. is in Cali, Its shots of all over

  • Los Angeles.. Hence the LAX.

  • This is some of the best time-lapse I've seen! Amazing!

  • How the hell did you get it so smooth, what were your settings. Looks like it was done with a video camera.

  • Good settings I find for time lapse at night on a DSLR are 1.6sec exposure, 2 seconds between the start of each shot, F5-6 (roughly), then playback at 24fps.

  • I love this piece. Well done!

  • has time moved on so fast, I'm working on the slowest moving image possible so I can catch up. great artwork..

  • needs more day and dawn..

nice vid though.Chicago is way more beautiful..

  • This is seriously excellent. great talent.

  • i like this very much

hey, im looking for someone to make me a video for one of my tracks?

im unsigned so i thought maybe this will appeal to a studant or so for a project!

if there's any interest, get in touch

    thanks

  • super!

  • Great! Just great!

  • Amazing is not enough to say, inspiring is closer to the mark ! WELL DONE !

You should be proud of your talent and work !!

  • amazing

  • this is soo impressive!

  • what's the name of the song used in this wonderful piece of artwork?

  • AMAAAZIIINNGG!!!

    where were these shot?

  • awesome!

  • My friend, you have inspired me so much right now its unreal. I've been playing with my own time lapse photography and I've been wanting to put together a video compilation of short clips from around the New York City area. Thank you for uploading this. It is a fantastic piece.

  • wow... must have taken a lot a LOT of pictures for it to look so smooth. beautiful.

  • great!!!

1:30 looks like a star wars attack scene!

  • kudos, great work, seems like a film camera but I've done simular things.

  • beautiful work man

can you tell me more about your settings?

2 minutes, 48 seconds of interval?

  • Fun to see the planes fly in and out. Like flying cars :P

  • Exhilarating all means!!!!

  • One of the best videos I have seen on here. Thank you for sharing this!

  • I LOVE IT!!!

  • BEAUTIFUL.

  • this video is sad because we do not relize it but a human life goes faster than what we think......

  • Wow this is amazing. I am currently working on a project very similar to this. Love the shots of the planes at the airport! Thanks so much for the additional inspiration :-)

  • This is one of the most awesome videos i have ever seen!

  • Holy hell. The aeroplanes are freaking awesome.

Were you using a battery grip with your camera btw? or did it last with one battery?

  • so video is just awesome. I love the background music.

  • what camera was used for this video?

    =D

  • Canon EOS 20D

  • oh crap, didn't see it in the first part of the video

    XD!

  • thanks though=D

  • Fantastic thats all I can say

  • So inspiring. The planes are just something different.

  • Nice Video :-)

  • hey, awesome work.. just got myself a timer remote and this is one inspiring piece of work. well done!

  • this has got to be THE BEST time lapse video i've seen... the composition of the shots, the smoothness, the music all adds to the atmosphere... truly breathtaking... and as Prettyodi said, quite sad too watching life passing by... a true work of art! How many shots at what intervals if you dont mind me asking please? It's just so smooth....

  • i agree, it's so amazing, definately 1 of the best time lapse videos

  • Yep..count me in.

  • this has taken place as one of my absoulte favorite videos of all time.. its so well done.. and its jut breath taking..

i don't know all the technical stuff that's involved so who knows this could have been so "easily done" but guess what.. u didn't do it.. these guys pulled it off and its just amazing...

    well done well done!

  • mate, i love the airpot and waterfountain

  • Pretty cooL!!! How many shots each sequence?

  • about 590 shots almost 630 some......

  • This is only from California not from around the world...

  • Excellent work!!! Now I want to get a programmable remote for my 20D!

  • It is beautiful but sad. We can see how a human life goes so fast....

  • can you guys bear with me.. but how do you do these with a still camera? i mean i kno from the previous comments that you take many photos and merge them together, but the motion of the cars in this one is soo smooth as if taken with a video camera.. and what is this movie mode? does the Nikon D80 have it? and finally, wut kinda software would you use to put it all together??

    THANKSSSS!

  • nice! next time im in a big city, i'll try some of these ideas :-) i recently made one with Canon G9.

  • Holy poop! Thats freaking amazing! How do you do this?

  • You take a series of photos at different intervals (for example if a correct exposure takes 5 seconds, maybe you could take 1 photo every 6 seconds) then use those images to create a video. at 24 frames per second, this video would require just over 4,100 photos. :-)

  • This is beautiful! I just shot my first time lapse video. I was really inspired by this so I added it to the video responses.

  • WOW, awesome work. That's very time consuming to capture all those pictures to create the video and it came out great! Very smooth transition. How far apart were the pics taken....12 seconds maybe? Great job and thanks for sharing!
