  • wheres the dancing anime girl?

  • As has been pointed out already, the traditional Brazilian way to make a Caipirinha is by using brown sugar. Often barmen will use half brown sugar, and half refined sugar, in the cocktail. It really is a matter of taste! No matter what you do, be careful not to substitute the Cachaça for Rum, since there really is no substitute for Cachaça! Perhaps the nicest and most traditional recipe I found for the Caipirinha cocktail is the one on the website Alcomixer. I recommend it to everybody!

  • It looked nice but it's not the brazillian way to do it...

use normal ice NOT CRUSHED ICE!

user normal white sugar, NOT BROWN CANE SUGAR!

don't decorate the glass with a slice of lime, it's not the brazilian way...

  • @Th3Alchemista who cares about the fuckig brazilian way homes?

  • @D4RkM0e cause it's a brazilian drink... do you like hamburgers with mayonnaise?

  • @Th3Alchemista i like hamburgers with everything...i would eat it combined with dog crap;-)

  • no i will not show it to you:-D:-D

  • @Th3Alchemista WTF! The brazilian way is with brown sugar and crushed ice. Você é maluco cara? :O

  • Instead of Cachaça, is it possible to use Ursus?

  • 2014 vai vende caipirinha igual aguar....

    :D

  • brazilian cocktail ...adoro caiprinha

  • Is it like mojito? Looks like perfect drink for hot summer day!

  • @leldux10 It is!

  • @leldux10 It's not like a mojito, it's a lot stronger, it'll get you hammered really fast.

  • is it like a alcohol drink ? im a kid and that looked delicious, so i guess i have to try, but i have fresca instead of the cachacaD

  • @belieb3r4ever Yes, it's alcoholic, so avoid the cachaca

  • thanks for this recipe though, i think cocktails & punches are more popular at parties then southern comforts, etc. I think a layer of sugar around the rim of the glass adds a nice sweet attractive touch to it too.

  • first caipirinha i tried a canadian guy showed it to me in a bar in soho, he told me he discovered it whilst living in tokyo, it was so delicious & so I tried it again the next evening in a bar in sth london whilst watching some friends doing a gig and it was nowhere near as nice as the one i tried in soho the previous night n was so green my friends thought it looked like absinth, strange... it had a decorative layer of sugar laced around the rim of the glass in the bar in soho, central london.

  • i liked the tips someone down below gave... like he said, remove the white part of the lime, use regular sugar rather than cane sugar and use a better cachaca, 51 is (for real) a 3$ cachaca, but it's the easiest to find out of brazil, so my advice is for you to find a brazilian store and buy a better one, even tho it might be pricey

  • Some additional tips:

    - Remove the white center part of the lime (it is bitter when mashed)

    - Proportion: half a lime, 1 tbsp of sugar, 50ml of cachaça (as much ice as you want ou have)

    - In Europe, dont use cane sugar because it is harder to dissolve (cane sugar found in Europe is different from cane sugar bought in Brazil). Normal sugar is ok

    - If you can find, use wood-aged cachaça (golden color). I tastes fruity, and is so much better... you wont regret it.

  • NOvidade /watch?v=iOjXL4igLRA

  • Use White Sugar, and dont use Smashed ice.

And dont try to blend! NEVER! this is an awesome drink to make on summer parties

About the distilled, you can use vodka (for "girls") and it became a Caipiroska. You can use Orange or Tangerina WITH Lemon, its a good choice.

  • No way !

    It isn't caipirinha !!!!

    it's looking like Mojito,

to make caipirinha you have to shake with a jigger manually !!!

and use white suga (refined) .....

  • We call it Mojito here in US.

  • @paranel1339 mojitos have rum and mint, is nothing like that, the only ingredients in common were the ice and sugar

  • @paranel1339

    No you don't.

There is no mint in the caiprinha

  • @paranel1339 tu é burro pra caralho hein mané!

  • the cachaça hahahahaha

  • me no likey

  • This is not caipirinha!

This is Caipirãoo, which must be made with Licor Beirão Portuguese.

Caipirinha is made with refined white sugar and beat by hand.

  • Isso não é caipirinha!

Isso é Caipirãoo, que deve ser feito com Licor Beirão portugues.

Caipirinha é feita com açucar branco refinado e batida manualmente.

  • Hearing the lady speak in the background is irritating while listen to the lady in English.

  • Hearing the lady speak in the background is irriatating while listen to the lady in English.

  • @Andreyrg haha pois eh, nao gostei desse geito ai tb nao

  • Here in Brazil is made with vodka too, is a delight, if you prefer to put sugar!

  • sorry, but you made it all wrong... First = You have to put large dices of lime. Second = Like Hinidas saied, refined white sugar. and Third = Ice Cubes, BIG Ice Cubes. Not that little Ice Scrapers. That's just like... some... alcoholic "raspadinha", as we say here. But the Cachaça 51 is totally right ;P

  • just to remember: you don't need to be fat and ugly to enjoy caipirinha ;)

  • @888JimJam888 hell i wasn't even looking at the drink

  • que mulher gostosa lá no fundo

  • Alguém tem que ensinar para esses gringos que caipirinha não se faz assim. Deve ter ficado horrível, além de fraquinha...

You can put a litlle bit more 'cachaça'...

  • Não, não use açúcar escuro, e nem gelo moído....., sacrilégio....

No do not use brown sugar and crushed ice... it is a sacrilege

  • skip ads: 0:00

  • I live in Puerto Rico & I can't find that Cachaca, it's that some sort of VODKA or what!?

  • @ThePityFucker

It's alcohol made from sugarcane originally from Brazil!

  • @ThePityFucker Rum. Specifically rum made from sugar cane. Tasty shit.

  • @ThePityFucker cachaça is an alcoholic beverage from Brazil; you can use vodka, but in this case it´s called 'caipiroska' !

  • this is just the way! even brazilian barmen make mistakes

  • anyone notice the girl behind?

  • @MrCHuffeD that's not caipirinha... she's messing everything... I believe she's drinking an awful lime juice...

  • @GiuC39 I agree with you dude...caipirinha, i guess is more like a cocktail rather than only one drink with lime

  • Sorry but it is the wrong way to make caipirinha. The right way is in this video youtube.com/watch?v=CXuwD_m7Xis

  • to make the vodka

  • what cashasa????????

  • @deepikafan1 it's cachaça actually, it's the same thing as vodka, caipirinha with vodka black instead of regular vodka it's much better, try it! : )

  • yummmy looks god

  • this kinda looks like the mojito cocktail

  • @GHOSTY623 The Mojito is fairly different, but it also includes muddled limes, sugar, and a sugarcane-based liquor. Cachaca is made from fresh sugarcane juice, whereas rum is usually distilled from molasses or a mix of molasses and sugarcane juice. A Mojito is limes, mint, and sugar, muddled together, then rum, then ice, then topped with soda. Both are excellent coolers for hot weather.

  • @GHOSTY623 A mojito is made with mint as a major component.

  • @GHOSTY623 Except it is delicious, and doesn't taste like watery ass.

  • @GHOSTY623 haha

  • @GHOSTY623 Caipirinha is the older version of the lime/spirit mix. It was simple and cheap to make in a place that was (and is) rich in sugar and lime, as well as cachaça.

  • @GHOSTY623 : Its from the family of cocktails.

  • @GHOSTY623 It's the mojito cocktail but the mojito is bigger and it was invented after the caipirinha wanna know how I know? I'm brazilian :)

  • any1 notive the girl in red bikini across the pool???SHE IS HOT

  • @kethucdung how can you tell?

  • @XowntXihqX CUZ SHE'S IN BIKINI N THE 1 MAKING THE STUFF DOESNT

  • how cool does summertime sonia look lmao. <3 SOOO glad to have sonia back^_^ it looks yummy btw lol

  • Oh, please, do not use brown sugar. Use refined white sugar instead.

  • @Hinidas That is not brown sugar it is raw sugar.

  • @Juberoos >>> I have always thought that raw sugar was brown.

  • @Hinidas it is "brown"...but it is not "brown sugar" as in the kind you put in baking.

  • @Juberoos >>> Ok, thank you for the information!

  • @Hinidas It's not brown sugar (this has extra molasses added) it's unrefined cane sugar, the standard type used in any traditional caipirinha...

  • @Hinidas why?

  • @hilariofreire >>> Why what?

  • @Hinidas I don't think that is "brown sugar" . It looks almost like turbinado sugar which is not really refined from what I understand.

  • @craig9843 >>> The point is: you have to use white refined sugar and water-like cachaça to make a good caipirinha. Never use brown ou brownish sugar or the yellowish type of cachaça. What is in a name?

  • @Hinidas Oh ok...I'm wrong I guess.....I didn't. know.

  • @Hinidas NO RACIAL!!

  • @Hinidas and pitu

  • Amazing drink, but you NEVER, EVER should chop and use lemon directly in sunlight.

Injuries like burns and irritations may occur, and in many cases, perpetual brown stains that are removable only with expensive treatments.

Lemon juice have many acids which react when exposed to sunlight, might become very aggressive to human skin, use a parasol or find some place away from sunlight to cut and use lemons.

  • @raonipaes >>> That is absolutely true.

  • Lol at the girl behind you ;)

    This looks so fresh.

  • cachaça can be substituted by vodka. Just as good as

And I can't understand why a italian food channel is teaching brazilian drinks...

  • @sayuri60s >>> Because caipirinha is an officially recognized cocktail by the International Association.

  • I want one now yum yum.

  • what is cachaca? can i leave it and put water instead?

  • @S2MiRaS2 cachaça is a strong distilled alcoholic drink made from fermenting sugarcane. If you put water instead you get sweetened lime juice, which is also good, I guess :) You can use rum or vodka for variations of the classic recipe, if you can't put your hands on cachaça.

  • @S2MiRaS2 cachaça is the typical Braziliasn alcoholic drink that makes all the difference to it. Put water instead and the only thing you will get is lemonade :S

  • @CuteTeef oh so its alcoholic drink?

is tthere any non alcoholic drink that i can substitute with cachaca?

    coz i cant drink alcohol

    thanks!! ^^

  • @S2MiRaS2 it is a liquor made from fermented sugarcane...it's very popular in Brazil

  • @butovas thanks!! ^^

  • Comment removed

  • thumbs up. thats all I can say :D

  • the secret for caipirinha is don't crush the lime...

you 'll cut the lime in small wheel

  • @hk15

    Correct ! (Y)

  • @dirty1533 i know i'm brazillian haha
