  • The 'rack' is called a reed. Heddles sit in the harness. The beams are the big round holders on the front and back of the loom and hold the wound up warp or finished weaving. I have never seen a loom warped from front to back, interesting!

  • @dcgogirl I guess I didn't take the course properly!

  • Thanks Nancy. I've decided to go something like you did. It will be interested to find out how it goes. Harry Linder taught me 10 years ago (before his passing) but it's been about 5 since I've made anything. It's amazing how quickly some of it is coming back.

  • @RCSpain I still have trouble making diamonds! It's diamond twill. But I don't do it correctly. I guess I really need a draft to follow!

  • I see a lot of books go 1234123412341234. It seems you are going 1234321234321. Is this correct, or did I misunderstand? What is the difference in what the weaving will turn out like. Do you tie-up and do a tabby kind of footing? Sorry, but this is all new to me. Thanks for putting out the video though.

  • @RCSpain that threading is for a plain weave. I was setting this loom up to do a diamond twill. Hopefully, I'll be able to figure out how to make diamonds! It worked for awhile, but I forgot how I did it, and now it's not working again!
