  • wow!! great results...I think I wanna try this just for the heck of it!....was your hair oily and how long did it take to air dry?...

  • Your hair looks great! What a great idea!

  • Oh and your earrings are beautiful...simple yet eye catching.

  • I'm natural for the 3rd time in twelve years and I never used as many products the previous two times as I have this time. I recently simplified my routine and I'm getting much better results as I did in the past. Congratulations on your epiphany and future savings on products.

  • LOVE YOUR EARINGS :)

  • @brittanyverjes1 she said its “pretty much close to the same results” and next time she would probably use eco styler as well to try it to control a little bit of the frizz because she was not going to get 3rd day out of it. She said “ its not bad for an oil only” I think her hair style is cute but obviously she had concerns about the frizz that’s why I told her about using coconut oil (refined or unrefined) in herhair before shampooing. I didn’t say anything was wrong with undefined hair.

  • LUV ur earrings!

  • if you put coconut oil (refined or unrefined) in your hair before you shampoo your curls will be alot more defined just dont use conditioner after shampooing coconut oil is your conditioner

  • @MsDae2Dae Maybe she doesn't want her hair defined for the day, there is nothing wrong with that. Some naturals are obsessed with defining hair because it looks like they have "good hair." Defining is cute for a style but if you feel like you have to everyday. That's a huge problem. Not everyone has defining issues like some of the crazies who suffocate their hair with product to achieve defined curls because they hate their puffs. She knows how to define her hair, I've seen her videos.

  • You got married on my birthday!!

  • I was thinking of doing this to my hair, was your hair dry feeling at all?

  • I know you ladies loveeeee natural and I am sure you appreciate natural products so try HoneySilk "edible conditioning treatment" excellent for natural hair! FREE TRIAL SIZE! Just for trying and sharing your experience on youtube!....

  • that's the only way i do my lovely daughter hair.

  • It's so pretty, omg it looks like mine, my hair is only 8.5 inches (one year) stretched now, I can't wait for it to grow like yours.

  • Looks pretty.

  • luv the earrings! where did u get them? Im kinda obessed with leaf jewlery. I own 2 necklaces and only one pr. of silver earrings. I NEED those gold earrings! lol!

  • It's cute! i honestly think your hair would look even better w/ co-washing every other time you wash your hair, may give you extra moisture as well :) beautiful

  • My hair is pretty much the same... and I have no black in me whatsoever haha I like to call it my lions main :)

  • not that bad??!!! girl its great!!! people pay for that kinda curl!

  • congrats on getting married!... your hair looks great! yeah, we dont need a whole bunch of products to get our hair to look good, thats the hype the media sells us to get us to spend a bunch of money (which is one of the reason im doing a product purge [did a video on it])... stick to the simple and continue to look fabulous!

  • Best wishes! I am happy for you and your new hubby. I saw your most recent vid and thought your hair looked great. This is your new routine now?

  • @diademy Oh no no no! It turned out alright, but it doesn't last very long without product. Plus, I like the added definition of my products. Sobriety was nice... but I'm a product junkie for life! LOL

  • CONGRATS ON TWO THINGS ONE YOUR NEW MARRIAGE AND TWO FOR HAVING THE MOST GORGEOUS NATURAL HAIR THAT MADE ME JEALOUS LOL.....JUST FOUND UR VIDEOS AND I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL MY NATURAL HAIR GROWS TO YOUR LENGTH ITS BEAUTIFUL AND BTW I FOUND THIS COCONUT OIL GEL STUFF THAT I ABSOLUTELY LOVE ITS LIGHT AND IT CURLS MY HAIR SUPER CUTE~

  • @SEXYPHILLYMOM40 Thank you so much! :)

  • Oil only is great for my hair. kinky curly custare, shea butter , miss jessie just dries my hair out and my hair shrinks a lot and I mean a lot. when I only use oil and maybe kera care oil moisturizer on my natural hair it does not shrink and is not dry. Go figure.

  • I like it... ON YOU. lol.... im going to try it.... im scared though.. cause im frizzzzzzy. so... we will see. because truthfully. its really healthy. ESPECIALLY coconut oil....

  • Okay....how does ur hair get so soft looking and bouncy??

  • Beautiful!!

  • :-)

  • i love it! big hair is always better you look fab. your hair is full and lush i hate when curls looks limp and lifeless. and i like how it looks still tamed

  • omg my lat name is lea:) lovee your hair:)

  • A big yeah for your hair and the wedding! Just discovered coconut oil and love it, looks great!

  • Your hair looks gorgeous and without the mineral oil of Miss Jessie's and the clogging gel, I'm sure it's tons healthier, too!

  • Just oil...absolutely gorgeous!

  • @keisha9504 Thank you! :)

  • congrats on your wedding! blessings to you both!

  • @keisha9504 Thanks!!! :)

  • Congrats.... And I like it

  • AWWW Congrats!!!

  • Congrats on your wedding!

  • not only does it not look bad, it looks ridiculous! honey, don't use anything else, you are just ripping yourself off. i'm drooling over here.

  • Congrats on ur wedding! U know people pay for their hair to look like that!

  • Congrats. Im got married 10/8/11. Everyone asked if I permed my hair? Of course I didn't ... but I let them know natural hair can look just a beautiful as relaxed hair!

  • Congratulations!!!

  • Aww congrats to u and the hubby

  • CONGRATS MRS.!!!!!!!!!! I think your hair looks awesome!! I would PAY for fullness like that, especially with just oil! I have "fake" fullness! WORK IT OUT!! :)

  • @MlleCafeAuLait Thank! What are you talking about, girl?! Your hair is always full and on point!

  • Congrats girlie!!!

  • CONGRATULATIONS!!! Your hair looks awesome!!!

  • @SOPHISTICATEDMMAMA Thanks so much, girlie!!!!! :)

  • Leah, that youtuber Chanel is actualy "naptural85"

  • I can relate! Our hair texture is comparable, although I am working with shorter hair. But, I was surprised just this week about how Extra Virgin Olive Oil had similar results! So me too, do I have to buy all these products? See also youtuber, "natural85". she has ideas about water and oil under a cap overnight which retains moisture and helps with 2nd even 3-4th day hair!

  • Firstly, Congrats! Secondly, instead of trying ecostyler, try aloe vera gel. I usually just use coconut oil and aloe vera gel and it defines my curls. Of course its not as defined as when I use kinky curly but it does the job and it balances the ph of my hair.

  • Congrats...I love your hair!

  • light skin beauty! u no how to rock the curls WELL.

  • Your hair looks very pretty!

  • Hey, just found you on youtube-my name is Leah as well!! And i'm also a crazy curly natural who loves her texture!! Just giving a shoutout of support and letting you know you have a new subscriber :)

  • @deserteyes08 Hey Leah! LOL. So glad you subscribed! :)

  • No, u did'nt need all those products, u have really nice texture as it is ;)

  • Congrats!

  • CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! i will be getting married in 2012 summer time

  • @IndianNaturalCurly Congrats to YOU!!!! :)

  • @CurlyCrazyfulLeah thank you so very much :) have a bless in joyful day

  • Yeeeeeah! My sweet sis1 I am very very happy for you! Huggies!!!!

  • Congrats girl!!!!!!! So happy for you

  • Congratulations! I am so happy for you. I pray that your marriage be filled with blessings, understanding, commitment, respect, love and harmony. God bless!

  • @japanatheart89 coconut oil is NOT good during colder months. It solidifies in colder weather and your hair will be HARD!

  • Welcome back! Congrats on your wedding. Your hair looks great. I think I will try just the oil and see how it turns out. I will keep you posted.

  • Congrats Sis. May God bless your union, and give you three curly hair babies.

The best my hair has ever done is when I used just oil on freshly co-washed hair. Next time try coconut oil and raw shea butter. The Shea butter is great at sealing the moisture in your hair.

  • yay!!!!! Congratulations!!! Your hair looks amazing!!! I need to get on with that coconut oil! lol is it ok to use during the colder months?

  • @japanatheart89 As far as I know it's safe to use anytime.

  • I thought you were MIA! Congrats on the nuptials!

  • @embracingmycurls75 Hahaha. Only temporarily. Thanks! :)

  • Congratulations!!!! Welcome to married life!!! My hubby and I will be celebrating our 6th yr. in November!!! Your hair looks amazing, love it!!

  • @HoneyHanzy Congrats on your 6th anniversary! Any words of wisdom for a newlywed???

  • Congrats on the Nuptials!! Hair looks great

  • Congratulationnnnsssss

And it seems like u never have a bad hair day

  • Awe, thank you! I definitely DO have bad hair days. But bad hair days usually make the best pony-puff days! :)

  • YAY!! Congrats! You definitely have a glow about you...:) Your hair looks fabulous..for my hair I have been doing the JCokes grease and water challenge, and believe it or not, as simple as that is..it has made a BIG difference in my hair! Sometimes less is MORE! :) Looking forward to seeing your wedding vid!! :)

  • @TheVictory44 JCokes grease and water challenge?! What is that? I'm intrigued....

  • @CurlyCrazyfulLeah JCokes saw a vid of a young lady using just Royal Crown Hair grease on her hair and water. this young lady did a twist out that looked FABULOUS! So looking back to most of our pasts, a lot of our Mom's used just hair grease and water, and that was enough to have healthy hair that grew etc! So in one of JCokes vids she decides to do a 30 day just hair grease and water challenge on her hair..You should check out her video..Her hair looks FABULOUS! I started it and love it! :)

  • congrats on the marriage!

  • Congrats! May your marriage be a happy and successful one. Love your hair au naturale!

  • @KaiJoshian Thanks! :)

  • congrats and your hair looks great! sometimes less is more! :)

  • @mumplus2 This is true! :)

  • I just read on CurlyNikki (I think, it could have been BGLH) that coconut oil promotes curl clumping. Seeing that you've had success, I may just try this tonight. Thanks for reporting!

  • @edeleon2010 Oh really? I didn't even know that, but it makes sense since I had a little bit more curl clumping than I had expected. Try it and let me know how it turns out! :)

  • @CurlyCrazyfulLeah The link is curlynikki(dot)com/2011/10/closer-look-at-mineral-oil-natural-hair(dot)html (it's under the Curl Formation and Clumping Section). I completely pressed enter before I added this in my previous comment but congratulations on your marriage! Many blessings from above for you and your hubby!

  • CONGRATULATIONS LEAH ON YOUR MARRIAGE =) WOOP WOOP!!

  • @LovelyLexie Thanks so much! :)

  • thank u so much for the video because i will be 1 year natural the end of october and i have a lot of the natural hair products and curl products and now i just realized that my hair is naturally curly why do i need a curl product and i'm so tired of using products in general, so i stopped and now all i use is oil and i don't care about my hair getting frizzy. My hair is just naturally frizzy and there is nothing wrong with that. So thank you for this video i would like to see more .

  • @MsShanny26 That's so great that you accept you hair, frizz and all! I'm getting there... slowly. LOL.

  • Looks gorgeous girl!!

  • Congrats on the nuptials! Thats so amazing & your hair looks GORG!! I'm def going to have to try oil only!

  • CONGRATS!!!!!!

  • Congratulations on the nuptials. Just wanted to say your hair looks great. I've also used heavy coconut oil on my hair at times, and just a small warning, be careful if you're prone to breaking out. I got break outs on my neck and back and forehead from to much oil, i had to cut back.

  • @voluptuossa Yeah. My face has been breaking out really bad lately too! Maybe it's the coconut oil!!! Oh no!

  • yeah i only use conditioner and jojoba oil. shampoo, condition, leave in my conditioner and then use jojoba oil at night before going to bed and then i just take it out of my pinneaple and thats it, just use oil thereafter. nothing more.

  • @yagurlbubblez That's great! Such a economical regimen.

  • congrats on your marriage and your hair looks gorgeous with the oil only.you have so much volume and i love volume lol.i'll try this method one of these days and see how it turns out but as of now,i use only giovanni direct leave in and seal it with coconut oil and am done.very simple, and i get frizz free defined curls with lots of volume.my hair texture is just like yours too.

  • I love castor oil which is a little heavier than coconut oil. i think I'm going to try this with castor oil. thanks!

  • @ImSuchAVirgo You should do it! All these different oils confuse me sometimes. It's so much to remember. Let me know how it turns out! :)

  • Congrats! wishing you many many years of a blessed marriage! Love your hair with only oil, looks FAB :)

  • Congratulations!! You look great! BTW I have those earrings too. :-)

  • YEAHHHHH congrats to you. Blessings and all that good stuff. Love the hair very nice.

  • congrats girl and love your hair..

  • Sometimes we are being taken advantage of by the ppl who make products. Where did you get the coconut oil? Wholefoods or vitamin shop? The one at whole foods says it has to be washed out? Curious.

  • @anissa4334 No. I got it from a neighborhood healthfood/herbal store. Not a chain. I don't remember what brand it was off the top of my head. The label actually says it's for cooking. I figured if it's good enough to eat, it's good enough to put in my hair. :)

  • Im going to try that oil only...LOOKS GREAT

  • @anissa4334 Thanks! You should definitely try it at least once. You might like it. :)

  • CONGRADS GIRL!

  • congratulations !!!! I love your hair!!!Naptural85 helped me come to that same conclusion!

  • congratulations !!!! I love your hair!!!

  • Congratulations on your marriage

  • Congrats on your marriage! I'm so loving the hair!

  • Congrats on your marriage! I love the hair!!!

  • @shoofiend Thanks! :)

  • lol i had this realization not too long ago myself and now all i use is olive oil and maybe a cream moisturizer :3

  • Congratulations on the marriage! You look fabulous!

  • I did an experiment with naked hair and I was surprised as well. My hair looked a lot like yours. I liked the volume I got from it but I hate that I can't make it last for a week. I would probably have to wash daily to keep it up and I ain't doing that lol. Love your earrings!

  • @Hunnydukes Haha. Right. Washing and detangling every day would be wayyyy too much to deal with.

  • I've been using just the Giovanni direct leave in & that's it! Lil' to no frizz and super defined curls (more so than with any styler).

And congrats to you and your husband! I wish the both of you health, happiness & endless blessings! :-)

  • i was thinking i use too many product too. Did you hair dry faster because you used less product?

  • @curlybda Not that I noticed, but I wasn't really paying attention.

  • Cute.

  • wow!! congratulations on the wedding and what a lovely honeymoon!!! :) you do look radiant! your hair does look good, but i think it just depends on the look you are going for. I sometimes put in just a bit of moisturiser and leave my hair alone and it does look good, but sometimes i just want a different look, more control, more hold, etc ... and sometimes, i don't feel like having too much product on my hair. Congrats again!! :)

  • @louloumatou Thanks!!! :) Sometimes I definitely like a more defined look but it's nice to have options.

  • First of all CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I cannot wait to see pics! I know you were a gorgeous bride!!! :) Secondly, your hair looks FAB!!! I have been wanting to just try a leave in only and ditch the gel, but kinda SCURRED of a frizz head, lol, but I think I'm gonna try it and see what happens! I haven't tried oil only, maybe I'll try that next. Thx for the update!!

  • @CurlyKimmyStar I was too. Just try it on a day where you don't have anywhere important to go. That's what I did. :)

  • Welcome to club "Mrs."!!! Congratulations Leah:-) I'm loving the oil only method!! For those days when we just don't feel like doing the whole 9!!

  • @OurLadyLourdes Right! I love my products, but it's nice to have a cheap and easy alternative.

  • Congratulations on your new marriage! You are glowing and you look very happy. Your hair looks so soft and beautiful. Thanks for sharing :)

  • congrats on getting married!!!!

  • CONGRATULATIONS!!!!....

  • I've tried using oil only but I didn't really like it I think my hair needs a light moisturizer and with a light oil on top

  • hair looks great

  • I couldn't agree more. I now just use cheap aloe Vera gel and curl enhancing smoothie. Keeping up with all that other stuff was too much.

  • Congratulations on your union!

  • I agree! The routine I have now has all cheap products! Congrats and u and ur hair look lovely

  • Love those earrings by the way! I am an accessories addict lately....what i get for working in a clothing store lol

  • Your hair looks beautiful! and so do you. Congrats on getting married!!

  • Congrats, girl!!!!! Your hair looks great!! :)

  • Congrats Leah!!! hope you had a blast in the Caribbean!! Did you drink a ton of cocnut water?? I like to fill up on that when I go, ..about the hair, I have used only shea butter once, and it was GURREEEASY! but soft... I even broke out on my face, so next time I think I will use less shea :( I wrote about my experience on my blog emilycottontop com..welcome back! good to see you

  • @30something007 Yeah. My hair was very greasy the first day, but super soft. Today it's not bad at all.

  • congrats!!!!!!!!!! :>

  • Congrats!

  • Congrats chica. Hair looks great

  • @AFRICANEXPORT Thanks so much!!!!! :)

  • Congrats on getting married, your hair is beautiful

  • CONGRATULATIONS, LEAH!!!!

  • @brownshuga24 Thanks!!! :)

  • your hair is soo pretty and its growing

  • Congrats on the wedding!

  • **focus on curl definition. I know the Smoothie is to "enhance curls" but I read the reviews before I bought it and it was mostly reviewed as a good moisturizer. :o)

  • Comment removed

  • Congrats on your wedding :) I usually just use either an aloe vera spritz, the Shea Moisture smoothie, or Flax Seed gel and then seal with castor oil or shea butter and my hair turns out like yours; I found my hair twin yay! :) I don't really use curl activators so I figured I just didnt have good definition but I dont curl definition. Your hair looks awesome!

  • @ThriftyKinkyNatural flax seed gel wow thats a new one never heard of it

  • @NIJEECAPRICORN20 yea its $1 for 1 lb of seeds @ my local health food store, takes 10 minutes to make, with left over seeds that last several months and it works just as well as Ecostyler lol

  • @ThriftyKinkyNatural omg $1 I aint mad at that but how do you make it?

  • @NIJEECAPRICORN20 2 cups of water and 1/4 cup of gold or brown flax seeds let it simmer for about 10 minutes and your done. But there is a way to get the gel into a container ill send you a link to a tutorial that helped me out a lot i :)

  • @ThriftyKinkyNatural thanks =)

  • @ThriftyKinkyNatural Thanks so much! I still LOVE my MJ's but it's nice to know I have other options. :)

  • CONGRATS!!! I was wondering when your date was. I couldn't remember if you said it or not. I feel like you snuck off on us and got married! LOL! I don't know what I was expecting, tho. You see how us viewers can start to feel all "entitled" and things!? smh. Lol. Anyway, I'm so happy for you and you're right, you may not need all of those products. Your hair looks great! :)

  • @NaturalCD87 I don't think I ever said the exact date before. I guess I kinda did sneak off and get married. LOL. I really wanted to share all the details with you all, but you have to be careful what you share on such a public forum. Especially when it pertains to your exact whereabouts and travel plans. I'm glad I can share it with you all now, though. :) Stay tuned for pics.

  • @CurlyCrazyfulLeah you're right about that, I came upon some guru gossiping website that was just awful, completely changed my mind about making videos on here lol

  • @ThriftyKinkyNatural Yeah. You definitely open yourself up to criticism when you post videos on YouTube. But don't let that scare you off from making videos if you really want to! The love and support the natural hair YT community shows FAR outweighs a nasty comment or post here and there.

  • Congrats Leah

  • Your hair looks great! Good for you and congrats on the wedding!
