Um not to be rude but you should do a little more research on agave, they are now finding out agave is worse for you than corn syrup, its really hurt some people with diabetes. If you're looking for a better "sugar" I would suggest coconut sugar or honey. Oh and splenda? yeah don't get me started on how quickly that'll give u cancer =-\
@faylinameir Daniel researches his WTF's a lot. There are always new studies coming out on various products. As far as the information is concerned, no one completely knows the accuracy of it. It's up to you to decide if and what you take and leave. I don't think he was looking for a "better sugar" he was merely imploring a food.
@vivaDanielle I never claimed he didn't do a lot of research, I was just wanting to point out to people that may be seeing this that are interested that its not the perfect pretend sugar product. I've been subscribed to/ a fan of dan for a long time, not only on this channel but on vendr tv as well, no disrespect was intended just pointing out a side not discussed in the video.
@faylinameir Hey! Thanks for the comment and discussion. And thanks for watching both shows! I think that everything should be consumed within moderation, and that you should be careful to explore the potential adverse effects of everything you consume. I haven't seen a solid verdict on the Agave issue, so it wouldn't be fair for me to relay speculation. I'm sure we could find some folks arguing a negative effect of nearly every topic. :)
In the summer, I always freeze some fruit juice into cubes so my drinks stay fresh but dont lose flavor from being diluted with water. For example, lemonade ice cubes go well with cola :)
I have been using that ice cube trick for my iced coffee for awhile. I use Agave Nectar to sweeten my coffee, but to be honest I don't really like the taste, maybe too clean of a sweetness. I was raised on refined cane sugar, so that is what I like. Dan, you forgot to mention the best Agave, Blue Agave, the plant Tequila is derived from!!! I think that would be the most common form of Agave, not the nectar.
The first time I tried agave nectar I got a really strange feeling in my head, not quite a headache, but I felt really strange. I read more about it online and ended up throwing the bottle out.
Also depending which vegan you talk to honey can or can not be "ok" as bees natural produce the substance, do not use all of it an depending on where you source it; are not harmed during the cultivation.... I used to be vegan.
Thanks for these videos, Dan. You explained things in a short, and tasteful, way!

Agave is as bad or worse than HFCS

one of the reasons people love about agave but don't know it (me being mexican of course i know) is that it is the main ingredient for tequila.

danieldelaney 10 months ago
Most sugars are not vegan because of the charcoal used during refining... A lot of charcoal in the US is derived from animal bones.
