a similar thing happened to me except i was on this walkway coach the bot was next to me and so was my friend and the witch was walking towards me but coach went into a room to get ammo and the witch was blocking the door he bumped into her and when the witch was going to kill him he shot her in the head with the m1014 and she died.

The pump doesn't do enough damage, plus the time between shooting her the first time and the next is fairly long because you have to cock it. On anything other than easy, you'll need to shoot her more than once, and the time it takes to cock the gun is too long, as she has enough time to stand up and incap/kill you.

@grimlygrom Depends on your level of difficulty and mode. Witch damage is directly proportional the the level of difficulty and when in versus a well placed (infected) ambush can tip the scale for a witch. They aren't toned down, your just playing on an easier setting.
