I've always had a suspicion that Herring is a genuinely nice guy , and I'm glad you had that experiece with him . I met Derek Trucks once in Nashvile and as you might guess , he's was very approachable and seemed to be grateful that people wanted to shoot the shit with him . I guess that could have changed since he's now on the radar to the rest of the world , but I strongly doubt it .

@squabs217 I've never met Derek, but from what I've been told he's just as friendly. Seems like they're all pretty down to earth. I was a guest of Umphrey's that night, and I remember Herring coming in to their back stage room and saying that he didn't even care about the show, he was just excited to see them play (Umphrey's). He was extremely encouraging and gracious. That guy has had some tough shoes to fill in his career. Duane, Jerry, Mikey……tough chores!
