The little girl could have sang the "Orpheus in the Underworld"(Moulin Rouge Cancan) version of the "Lizzie ditty", which would have been public domain, if the "Tarara Boomdeeay" version was still under copyright when this episode was shot. The Tarara version is better known and contemporary to the time of the murders, but I've heard both versions, and the Orpheus would have worked better than that tuneless thing the little girl sings.
Why do so many people insist that a stepmother is the same thing as a mother? Yes, perhaps an adoptive mother is, but a stepmother? Does that mean Anna Nicole Smith's stepchildren, who were 25 years older than she, had to call her "Mom"?
@sonor23 Excuse me you are mistaken Hitchock's daughter Pat Hitchcock played the lead. Pay attention to what he says at the end of this story and then notice the names of the cast. Pat Hitchock's name is mentioned at the beginning of the show.
@sonor23 You think Hitchcock would actually have his daughter play a maid, come on get real. she played the lead character he said so at the end of this episode pay attention.
@vonnedd Hitchcock's daughter is the maid in this episode. She played the lead in an episode earlier in this season which was entitled 'Into Thin Air'. Alfred obviously wasn't as nepotistic as you may think. His daughter did appear in ten episodes of 'Alfred Hitchcock Presents' though, more than any other actor/actress.
thanks! i love alfred hitchcock movies. i have a whole collection. i've been intrigued by the story of lizzie borden since i saw the movie that starred elizabeth mongomery and katherine helmond
@dynamic27ph just thought you might find this interesting, not sure if you knew or not so please no sarcasm if you did, just trying to be informative. Elizabeth and Lizzie were 6th cousins once removed. I found that out about a year ago and when I watched the movie again it gave me such horrible chills lol. just thought you might find that bit of information kinda cool :)
@poosaypirate yes, it was done in 1975. I don't think she was ever aware of their relation though. Not from any interviews or anything I've seen of her.
@poosaypirate ive seen this comment written all over the various vids here about their relation.. funny thing is, i have to do some research but its possible one of the side caricatures could be one of my ancestors as well.
going to have to go back on ancestry com soon. its quite possible they livedi n the same state as well as same surname
the reporter is in the wrong town instead of fall river she should travel a bit down the cape and get to provincetown mass lol
