well, nice try guys, the ENTIRE rear differential was replaced including leaf springs, the drive shaft was checked for warping and balanced by a driveline company, all the shocks have been replaced, this is a one piece drive shaft, no carrier bearing. This happens on the dyno or on the road. 4 sets of tires, 2 sets of wheels, road force balanced all the time, tried Michelins too. Nissan says they have checked the driveline angle more than once.
I've seen this on another car. Vibration at certain speeds, seems to resonate. Really bad at high speeds. It was a poorly balance drive shaft or warped drive shaft.
alignment, wheel bearings, axles, something wrong with the suspension. does it do it driving? if it does, then it could be alignment or tires, but tires would be easily noticeable. Must be fun to drive lol
It's not unusual for cars to shake more on a dyno than on the road. But from what you're saying it sounds like something in the driveline more than the wheels or tires. A u-joint could be binding if the angles aren't right. I'd say it's a problem but unless something breaks, or lots of other people report the same problem, they aren't likely to do anything.
@NBSV1 i know if you raise the truck, it will set off the angle from the trans to diff in the drive shaft... but its not drastic here...
either the rear diff tube needs to be tightened to the truck bed (leaf spring clamps as well) mine were a little loose after 40k but not any where close to this...
im going with bent hub from drifting... lol shimmy on a tire is not this much... cant be... lol i would like to see the thrust line and alignment angles on this bad boy
I have an '07 that had a mild issue with this vibration. About a year later I lifted the truck running 35x12.50r18 after that it was gone. The Titan is boxed frame so it's going to ride a little rough. I honestly think the cause of this are the crap OEM tires and shocks. After I changed both the suspension and tires on my truck it went away. Even with some beefy treads on my truck it still rides way smooth on flat surfaces 25-75 mph.
well it only does it at those speeds when i hit a rough spot or a bumpy road. the bed actually jumps and shakes like 2 inches. I can hit the gas and smooth it out. seems to happen more when im letting off the gas while riding over a bumpy spot in the road. And it only happens like 4 times a month. very strange.
good luck getting it fixed, all you're going to hear from nissan is that its a truck, andthey all do that. My suggestion, find out what the drive line angle spec is supposed to be while running at those speeds, then have it checked.
I don't know but you must have one or several damaged cross couplings, or whatever you guys call it ''over there''. Notice the shaking at certain speeds, and especially when the drive train ''relaxes''. I'll say that's typical for damaged couplings. A manufacturing error?
no solution, I am pursuing the texas lemon law right now. As for the seats squeeking, in the first few months that we owned the truck, we took it in for the seats squeeking when someone was sitting in the seats and the truck turned right or left. I dont recall what the fix was, but I'll post it here tomorrow.
Nice try. between the dealership and myself, we have tried 4 sets of tires and 2 sets of factory wheels, 3 alignments, all 4 shocks/struts, same problem.
oh, definitely while driving on the road and the dyno. Nissan says what I feel on the road is normal, so I said, ok, lets take the road out of the equation, lets put it on the dyno. They said: "well, thats not real world conditions". "The truck will want to jump off the dyno".

i this noticed only on the dyno? as in not on a normal road (cause i tech at nissan doesnt have a dyno to replicate the issue...)
also is it under Acceleration and Deceleration? as in regardless of load or not or just at a specific speed / rpm range?
what about the diff was it replaced...? cause my lil pumpkin broke cause its a factory weak part...

my 07 se does the same crap, anywhere from 25 -40 mpg is the worse. feels like the truck bed is falling off. wish i knew what it was.

sorry, no coupling on this one, straight out of the transmission to the differential.

well i can't help you about the shaking and vibrating on the dyno, but man do i love that drone of the exhaust!!!

is this just for the 07 titan's? or 04-08 titan's?

I have an '07 Titan and it does the same thing. Was there any solution to the problem? Also, do your seats squeak?

I think you should get the wheels balanced. It would help a lot I think.
