It is funny how religious people forget that only about 500 years ago humans only lived to about 30 to 50. It wasn't some god entity who increased our life. It was humans studying the sciences. Our life span has gone from 30 to about 75 and we live better during old age. And that is for theist and atheist. I see the increases in our life in spite of religion no because of religion. I don't have room here but the bible has several verses in it that discourage knowledge outside of the bible.
You have to realize that until about 150 years ago humans didn't know much about science, earth, human body, etc. If it was up to religion we would still be in the dark ages. Religion has had 4000+ years to make an explanation. It isn't correct but it was the best they could do at the time. It is now time to move away from story telling and actually learn something about what makes us function. That is the only way to make what life we can prove to have better.

The religious arguer seems to be claiming that if any aspect of science or rationality seems unable to cope with a certain situation, that persons god then wins by default, despite being itself equally unable to explain a situation.

The point of insight or moment of nirvana can really be tricky for people. many times they will feel so impressed by the complexity of the universe that they 'crack' and have to reach for a god to carry that burden. many religios zealots do this. Jesus is God that is the difference, he fulfilled some 40-50 prophesies in the Old Testament and gave us the new covenant so we can go to heaven instead of hell. While I agree that the OT is fairly heavy-handed in terms of the death penalty, the NT is the exact opposite. It seems to completely absolve people of anything, as long as they eventually accept Christ and/or God.

If you've broken ANY of God's laws, and He is real, you will face Him - then what are you going to do? It is funny how religious people forget that only about 500 years ago humans only lived to about 30 to 50. It wasn't some god entity who increased our life. It was humans studying the sciences. Our life span has gone from 30 to about 75 and we live better during old age. And that is for theist and atheist. I see the increases in our life in spite of religion no because of religion. I don't have room here but the bible has several verses in it that discourage knowledge outside of the bible.

You have to realize that until about 150 years ago humans didn't know much about science, earth, human body, etc. If it was up to religion we would still be in the dark ages. Religion has had 4000+ years to make an explanation. It isn't correct but it was the best they could do at the time. It is now time to move away from story telling and actually learn something about what makes us function. That is the only way to make what life we can prove to have better.

Actually blasphemy is defined and understood as irreverance or mocking of God or any Gods. This also means taking the lord's name in vain. "God dammit" for example. Jesus says that any who do so shall not be forgiven for any reason. This is unforgivable.

A common element is that they all claim to be the true religion and provide nothing other than their own postulate as supporting evidence. The maker of this sorry video used fear and punishment as motives to accept Jesus. The point of insight or moment of nirvana can really be tricky for people. many times they will feel so impressed by the complexity of the universe that they 'crack' and have to reach for a god to carry that burden. many religios zealots do this. But I think his point in not believing in Atheists, comes from any discussion you have with one, and you tend to find, if you talk to them face to face, that they will tell you that they are not sure, that they might believe in God if I can get a little bit more revelation, or a slightly better description of a God that I like. Jesus is God that is the difference, he fulfilled some 40-50 prophesies in the Old Testament and gave us the new covenant so we can go to heaven instead of hell. All other religions are of the devil because they are work based, that you have to do something to earn your way to heaven but there is nothing you can do to earn your way, it is a gift from God.

We wouldn't know how God is righteous as he is, everlastingly, and give him glory for it if it hadn't had of been for unrighteousness, we wouldn't know he's loving as he is if it hadn't been for sin, we wouldn't know he's holy if it weren't for judgment.

How holy is God? So holy that he must send out of his presence, everlastingly, anyone who is not fit. Why of all this? That he might make known the riches of his glory, that is, he did all of this in order that he might gather into heaven a redeemed humanity who would forever glorify him for all that he is.

The Bible says If a man be found lying with a woman married to an husband, then they shall both of them die, both the man that lay with the woman, and the woman: so shalt thou put away evil from Israel. We would have to kill Clinton and hundreds of thousands of other people. See fear is a good thing, if people think they would be stoned, they would less likely do the crime. Yep. Let's look at the basic Justice scale: Lie to your parents get spanked, move on. Lie to a teacher, principle's office. Lie to a cop, face the judge. Lie to a judge, contempt of court, minor jailtime. As the authority gets higher, the same offence warrants a greater punishment. God created the universe and is eternal; therefore, He has the final say in ALL things; So on your death when facing a Holy God, to avoid Hell, what are you going to do? Lie to the greatest authority in existence?

IF you were to live a 100% sinless life, you wouldn't need Jesus' blood to get rid of your sin--you wouldn't have any, and hell wouldn't be needed. However, the point is that EVERYONE has broken the commandments and sinned, as Steve said. And now everyone has the abilty to repent... God isn't going to be mean and disclude someone because they did something "too bad", he forgives all.

Everyone would be killed if we were still under the Mosaic Covenat. Everyone has done something unlawful, and in the times of the Old Testament, it would have ment death. Even lying. However, the punishment is now left for God. He will put those who have disobeyed His laws to death, unless they have repented, as Steve said.

While I agree that the OT is fairly heavy-handed in terms of the death penalty, the NT is the exact opposite. It seems to completely absolve people of anything, as long as they eventually accept Christ and/or God.
If that's the case, we have no need for laws. People will act morally, or God will strike them down. That's not reality. Also, God's morality worked 2,000 years ago, but it's barely applicable to contemporary society.

The Ray Comfort "act" is old, can you at least be original. Your also a lair, use the real commandments Ray skips that part too. Deuteronomy 5:22-From Neither shalt thou desire thy neighbor's wife, neither shalt thou cast an evil eye upon thy neighbor's house, his field, or his male slave, or his female slave, his ox, or his ass, or any thing that is thy neighbor's. I Guess Yahweh forgot the "Do not own Slaves" commandment? Are you people blind or ignorant?

What is old is the bible and it's no act. There are still slaves and masters it's called capitalism. We all have a master i.e. A Boss. So please don't get all squishy on us. Ray is a sinner just like the rest of us the only difference is Ray is not filled with pride and admits his sins. Have you admitted that you are a sinner yet? What is old is the concept that a "Loving" god could even sanction the idea of slavery of his children. Your boss is not you master because he doesn't own you, did you learn this in home school? Which laws the modern "politically correct" one's or ancient "evil eye" laws. The word of god is fact and perfect and there are over 670 laws in the bible, follow them all. Blind faith is convenient because you don't have to answer to criticism.

The religious laws, cultic laws, and sacrificial laws obviously do not apply. The civil law, including the various punishments laid out for infractions of the civil law also do not apply to us today. However, "some aspects of the Old Testament ethical law are actually restated in the New Testament as applicable to Christians. Jesus came to fulfill the law and now there is a new covenant.

The old laws are intact, because Jesus said, "It is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one stroke of the letter of the Law to fail" (Luke 16:17). Ray uses a set non-biblical commandments, because it a form of emotional blackmail. An honest person would use the WORD not Trickery. Calvinistic predestination is morally bankrupt because god creates people knowing fully they go to hell. That means human action is irrelevant to salvation.

To decipher the meaning of Romans 10:4, you must first understand what Paul meant by the phrase "the end of the law." The Greek word translated "end" is telos, meaning "the point aimed at; result." In other words, Paul is saying that God's spiritual Law, which God also calls "holy, and just, and good" (Rom. 7:12), points to Christ, This does not end the Law it appends Jesus to them. For righteousness is found in those who believe in the law as well as in Jesus.

You can use the bible to inspire(phobos)terror of the (kurios/supremacy)Lord. Instead Steeves And Ray mumble something resembling the commandments. No one should repent for Ray's interpretation of the commandments. It's impossible to do the "Are you a good person test" with the commandments form the bible because people well hear the words "evil eye" "slave" and "don't boil a goat in its mothers milk", and they well realize your insane.

Some claim that God's Law is now void. The apostle Paul explained how some in Rome were trying to establish their own righteousness apart from God. Ignoring Christ's sacrifice, they thought that merely obeying the commandments would be sufficient for anyone to receive salvation. Why do Christians run for the old testament?

We don't, 1 Timothy 9-10 the law was made for you my friend. I agree though that the laws were put there for a reason. Pigs and rabbits are still filthy animals and should not be consumed. Tell that to a judge. "Judge, I don't believe there is a law, so let me go." Are you kidding me?? Logic shows breaking the law makes you a law-breaker. How much simpler can I state this?? God is love. The law stems from love. If you lie, steal, commit adultery, kill, you do not truly care about the welfare of God's creation and are guilty of violating His character and nature.

Approx. 85% of inmates repeat their offences once freed and end up back in jail. Why? They never changed. What happens when someone repents? God is glorified by changing the desires of his heart from wickedness to goodness. The god of your dreams is an immoral, unjust, uncaring god who would let anyone get away with raping and murdering your wife and kids and destroy humanity as a slave to sin. If you've broken ANY of God's laws, and He is real, you will face Him - then what are you going to do? He owes us nothing, but offers us something we certainly do not deserve - Grace, through repentance and faith. If there is even a slight chance He's real, then you don't need to take up His perfect standard with us - take it up with Him. Don't jump down our throats for trying to save your life.
