You suggest that without Rabbis you wouldn't be able to ascertain if cheese or milk is mixed with meat -- that's just not true. What prevents you from contacting the food company? And remember, the KOSHER TAX is on everything -- including household cleaners, aluminum foil, etc. Why should 98% of the population have to pay an extra $1 for each $30 of food bought?
