  • damn i've been waiting 2months still haven't receive any info from honda

  • thinking bout gettin this civic, or should i wait and get 2013??? idk how long is da wait??

  • @gtony87

I have no idea how long the wait would be. But you should go get this car as long as you like the seat. Mines not comfortable and I do a lot of driving. It's fine for most people. I love the car tho, LOVE it.

  • @cameraperson can you remove that sterio and put a btter one???? i have a 98 honda and my sterio and speakers are way better than da ones the new cars come from.?????

  • @gtony87

Im sure you can. The cars stereo is pretty interesting but it dosnt sound super great. if you just added some bass, it would really help. Im not a stereo expert, so, i may not be the best one to ask. Go check chutchfield or google

  • Just got my Taffeta White Civic and LOVING it.

  • @greenhoneybee08

That's great~! I'm really happy with mine and I've got about 13k miles on it already! It's a super commuter. And I've been tracking my mileage at FUELLY's website. fuelly DOT com SLASH driver SLASH cameraperson SLASH civic

  • I had to log on just to mention that your soundtrack is badass. Made me more excited to pick up my 2012 Civic next monday! Totally stoked. Definitely love the Rancid.

  • It's too bad the Accords doesn't have the trip computer.

  • hey man i really want to get a 2012 civic but i am in california and they say its very rare to find a stick shift. how did you get yours???

  • @GallardoJetLife

I called around to about 8 places- and Herson's Honda had one on the lot, so I drove it home. You may need to call a few places. Or check on their websites via google, I guess? It was pretty tough to find. Maryland had about 5 in the entire state.

  • @myjuddyy

    I would have answered!

  • The Honda interiors look like spaceships. The competitors have good designs but they are more like skanks, sure they can be sexy but they aren't marriage material.

  • @babyboomerforlife

I like my civic a lot. Many other cars will promise a lot, but not deliver on resale or other factors.

  • I like this civic a lot, I'm getting one as a late birthday gift, and I'm actually really happy with what I've seen so far. I really like the new style, it seems like more then half of the cars you see on the road is one of the 8th generation civics, so it's nice to see a more significant change.

  • My wife and I just bought a 2012 dyno blue and love it. Mainly got it for the gas mileage. The only things I dislike are the fact that you cant see the hood while driving. If you never had a car like this before it does take time getting used to. The 2nd is the cheap $10 plastic rims/wheel covers. Other then those things car is great. A lot of ppl think its ugly, but we dont think its that bad. Its all about personal preference. We're glad we bought it. Got it for a good amount off of msrp too.

  • Oh and it says 39 highway mpg's, but if you drive it smart you can get it up to 46. We're already averaging 41-42 mpg's.

  • @stringfellowhawke247

I dont know how you're getting 46. I have a highway commute and it's getting 36.9 Which is great, but if you say I can do better... how?

  • @cameraperson I didnt say I was getting 46 just said it was possible. I said we get 41-42 mpg's hwy and 37-39 city and thats with maybe 20% hwy. Its really just a matter of driving habits. hwy at 55-60 mph, hardly any stop and go, milking the throttle to keep the coaching bars green as much as possible, no up hill driving, etc.. Also if you can find gas with less then 10% ethanol that is a major plus and a big factor.

  • @stringfellowhawke247

Have you gotten 46 out of a tank yet? One time, when rolling down a hill after a fresh fillup and a trip reset, it said I was getting 199.99 mpg for about 20 miles downhill! Then fairly quickly it went to about normal when I hit the flats but still, it burned no gas getting down that hill and that has to extend the range of that tank.

  • @stringfellowhawke247

I'm trying to buy one atm, how much did you bargain for? Thanks

  • @PurpleSpades Ours was around $18,800 (seems to be the fair market value) We pretty much got the dealer add ons and delivery fee taken off otherwise would have been over 20 grand. Best advice I can give since most dealers arent budging with the prices on them is talk to the internet sales manager. Most of them get paid based on volume sales rather then how much the car sells for so they can usually give you the best deals. Took 3 attempts but it worked for us.

  • @stringfellowhawke247

$18,800?! that's great, with or without tax? where abouts do you live? everywhere i go i get $20,085 without tax but that's also without bargaining =/

  • @PurpleSpades Thats without tax, tag, and title transfer. I live in FL. It really is hard to get a deal even when trying to bargain right now. We went to a total of 5 dealers before the last two budged. 1 they know they'll sell them, 2 theres no real incentives right now and 3 which is a small part although they try to say its a big reason is the shortage from japan.

  • @stringfellowhawke247

Dont go to Honda of Ft Myers. It took us 9 hours to get away from them, that was AFTER we walked the lot and said "we want THIS car and are going to pay cash right now." They had to talk to the mystery man behind the wall and they did the whole song and dance. Really low class for Honda. We bought our 2nd from Herson's Honda in Rockville, MD and the got us in and out, fast, and we paid a great price. I dont work for them. Wish I got the blue one, went with silver

  • @stringfellowhawke247

cant see the hood- I know, it's really odd. But it's the mileage and the price. Both good things.

  • good vid!!

  • @hazdazzler

    Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.

  • Please tell me it hits Vtec?

  • @ShawnAbang

The 2012 Civic offers the brisk performance of a 140-hp, 1.8-liter, 16-valve, SOHC i-VTEC® engine that has been refined for 2012 with many friction-reducing and airflow improvements.

This system uses two camshaft profiles and electronically selects between the profiles, which is VTEC.

  • @cameraperson

I copied that off the Honda website... I hope they dont mind. In fact, they should hire me to do some commercials for them...

  • DOES IT FEEL UNDERPOWERED ? AND HOW IS IT ON THE HIGH WAY . LASTLY, WOULD YOU RECOMMEND IT ?

  • @alhassanimustafa

Well, it's not underpowered and I would recommend it. I love my honda- in fact, we have a 2011 and a 2012, and we like the 2012 a little better because it's roomier. Does it take off like a BMW? No. It's not a gas hog and it dosnt act like one. On the highway, I can gun it, drop it into 4th, and blast around the fast guys. It's a great car. It gets 36-39mpg and 400+ miles on a tank. Seriously. It's great. And the 2012 has a blue color that I wish I had. Mine's grey

  • @cameraperson thanks alot , i highly appreciate you feedback. today i got the 2d ex model as a graduation gift. its just amazing.

  • @alhassanimustafa

    That's a GREAT gift!

  • well, I would love to know what is the "realistic" average gas mileage you can achieve with and without that "econ button".. Buy the way are you driving a manual?, I went by the dealer the other day, they wanted $22.1K drive out for an LX automatic, do you might know if that a fair price, what did you pay for yours?

  • @LTF85199

I do have a manual transmission. I had to search for it because they sell fewer of them in general, but the automatic transmission costs about $1000 less. My LX was marked $18.5k. I had a substantial trade in, and I dropped 4k on it. But at the end of the day, we got it down to just above $17k and I financed around $13k.

My first tank of gas (econ ON) showed 36.4mpg on the dash and I calculated 35.8mpg. My commute is 60% highway and flat (and 100% idiots).

  • @cameraperson Thanks for the info, I think i am going to get a second corolla then, I already have one, and I know it gets around 34mpg average.. this civic 40mpg hypes doesn't seem like it will deliver, unless you're doing all kinds of hyper-miling techniques and tricks. Like I mentioned earlier I got a chance to test drive the car, it was tiny almost felt like I was driving a sub-sub compact car like the yaris. But I admit Civic is a fun to drive car but $22.1k just doesn't cut it for me.

  • @cameraperson So you got it for $17k Drive out - $4k your trade in = $13K?

  • @LTF85199

Yes- and the 2011 seems small, but my 2012 seems fairly roomy. In fact, it'd say it's spacious- my wife has a 2011 civic and she's jealous. Nothing wrong with the corolla if you like them- we tested one and the steering felt very loose. May have been that particular car, I dont know. My civic seems pretty rockin. The cool dash board is just icing on the cake.

I really wish I could get my hands on a Pugeot. Some of them are ridiculously fuel efficient.

  • @LTF85199

So, with the ECON button in the off position, I got around 36 mpg (measured by amount of gas used to fill the tank, not by the dash readout). The ECON button seems to get you another 2-4 mpg. But honestly, you're better off doing the few hyper-mile-ing tricks I read about, such as coasting, never touching the brake, never getting close to other vehicles, allowing the car to go a bit slower when going up hills, and not carrying excess cargo weight. Car, GO!

  • Nice demo please do more of the new Civic LX

  • @LTF85199

What would you like to see about it?
