Leadership and judgement are obviously important characteristics but they become dangerous characteristics when not based on knowledge of the issues being judged. I really hope you realize that. At the time of this interview she was obviously not qualified to make any "leadership decisions" on any of these subjects. Doesn't make her a bad person. People have surely become president without being geniuses but it's best for all of us to make that the exception other than the rule.
I think Palin is a fast learner. I think also that a person like her getting up to speed on any issue would not take long. The ability to make a timely decision already being a fact would make leadership easy for her. People made too much of her Couric interviews. I don't think it is necessary for any Presidential or Vice Presidential candidate to know any cases or case facts argued by the Supreme Court at all. It is not knowledge that is important it is judgement and leadership that is important. Woodrow Wilson proved that knowledge is not important. He had knowledge but poor judgement and was a terrible president. Calvin Coolidge had judgement over knowledge. A great President was he. Also, the current VP IS extremely stupid and has very poor judgemnt
One cannot have good judgement without intelligence, and good leadership is a byproduct of good judgement. However, one can be intelligent and have poor judgement, just not the opposite, its impossible. A president does not have to know any supreme court rulings, but a president should know at least a couple. Saying otherwise would be to reduce the expectations of the individual who becomes the most powerful person on the planet.

Leadership and judgement are obviously important characteristics but they become dangerous characteristics when not based on knowledge of the issues being judged. I really hope you realize that. At the time of this interview she was obviously not qualified to make any "leadership decisions" on any of these subjects. Doesn't make her a bad person. People have surely become president without being geniuses but it's best for all of us to make that the exception other than the rule.

I think Palin is a fast learner. I think also that a person like her getting up to speed on any issue would not take long. The ability to make a timely decision already being a fact would make leadership easy for her. People made too much of her Couric interviews. I think if her competancy were to be questioned from these interviews it should not be for leadership or ability to learn issued but for how easily she became frustrated. That may be a questionable quality. But not...

She's not a constitutional scholar but she is not running for judge. She did not aspire to the Supreme Court. But even from this interview she showed more understanding of Roe v Wade than Couric did. It would be no problem for her to select a SCROTUS candidate. And you have separation of powers for comfort.

I don't think it is necessary for any Presidential or Vice Presidential candidate to know any cases or case facts argued by the Supreme Court at all. It is not knowledge that is important it is judgement and leadership that is important. Woodrow Wilson proved that knowledge is not important. He had knowledge but poor judgement and was a terrible president. Calvin Coolidge had judgement over knowledge. A great President was he. Also, the current VP IS extremely stupid and has very poor judgemnt

One cannot have good judgement without intelligence, and good leadership is a byproduct of good judgement. However, one can be intelligent and have poor judgement, just not the opposite, its impossible. A president does not have to know any supreme court rulings, but a president should know at least a couple. Saying otherwise would be to reduce the expectations of the individual who becomes the most powerful person on the planet.

One of the things that strikes me whenever I've watched a clip of a Palin interview is her rambling incoherent responses. It actually seems as if McCain's team failed to question her and vet her properly. It's clear that she is below average in intelligence, inarticulate, and ignorant about US history and current affairs to a degree that is inexcusable for anyone who imagines themselves fit for the highest office in the country.
