The purpose of such a procedure is to transfer the brain from a failed body to either a working body or working robot with full sensation. In either case, the person, presumably, would have full, independent locomotion and full sensation just as you do, and like you, THEY are responsible for their brain.
I don't really see how this is much different than someone getting plastic surgery. Someone who modifies their body, gets a sex change, etc. is still changing themselves in a way they perceive to increase their human body. The transhumanism is just a higher technology of what we already do.
