enlightenment means liberate from mind suffering and the mind is not in the brain. The brain is just a place for the process of our reaction happens, whereby the awareness, mindfulness and wisdom (the ultimate truth that gained through experience) is not in the brain. When one meditates, he/she can attain the stage of stopping (just like pausing the whole body including the breathing, blood circulation and brain wave). Enlightenment can only be found through the practice of Noble Eightfold Path.
Take your grain of sand idea and draw an analogy with individual thoughts and their resultant perspective that may then affect the heart.
Any conclusion is just a condensate of one of an infinite number of possibilities at any and every moment of time. The ignorant invest emotion in this conclusion and are then in the trap of believing their perspective to be real and occasionally getting stuck there.
Interesting video. I wonder if there are different kinds of enlightenment? Also, did you have a satori experience, or do you view yourself as fully enlightened? Myself, I focus on developing loving kindness and compassion, as well as insight into impermanence of all physical things. Not necessarily Buddhist, I learn from all places.
I really wanted a neurological scientific explanation of what happens in awake ppl like what is happening with them mentally & chemically besides all the nonsense about right/left brain. What is the hormonal process of enlightenment? Is there any physical changes in the brain that are different from average brains. There is a website called "The Biology of Kundalini" which is quite good but I don't know if it is accurate.
I know your post was a while ago but I may just be able to help.
The Biology of Kundalini is very accurate, I've had a Kundalini awakening and some thing that may help your enquiries with regard physical, emotional and cognitive changes is below.
Thanks but the Biology of Kundalini is what I have been looking for. The other thing I was looking for was a more detailed more scientific reason for what I saw going on with Eckhart Tolle. I wanted to hear it from him about the differences between him & the average person hormonally & chemically. That answer will not come and isn't in the vid you indicated but I'm sure there are other more up to date more scientific descriptions elsewhere.
I wondered, as a ex-biochemist myself, are you looking to pharmaceutically induce the state of enlightenment and hence need to know the biology or pathology behind it to do so?
I am definitely NOT looking for Big Father, I mean Big Pharma, DMT, LSD, or anything from the magic forest.))) I did reach something like a Tolle mind with betaglucan from yeast & at another point from a beta-g maitake blend. The "stillness" lasted 3 days and 2 weeks respectively. That's as close as I ever got to that state of mind or to magic mushrooms. All my many symptoms disappeared temporarily. It was not placebo but it was. There was much more going on. That's the reason.

Tai Chi is described as "Stillness in motion" which confounds many.
The stillness is a psycho-emotional state of being. The mind contemplates nothing and therefore erradicates both doubt and fear, essential for martial artists.
Physical balance to psycho-emotional balance through the PRACTICE of stilling the mind.
Alex, I really enjoyed listening to your statements, thoughts and ideas. I came from "how it feels to have a stroke." While your video wasn't as dramatic, it was as powerful.
I am curious, do you spend any time away from the ego centric thought process? I tried to see, while you spoke, if you were thinking. It seemed that you weren't. Good man!
To know what an enlightenment is, you need to understand it in relation to the state and reality of being not enlightened. I became enlightened through the means of tennis. My enlightenment transcended me from a one armed / competitive relationship to an ambidextrous / non-competitive relationship. It also integrated my mind / body / spirit / soul. I hope this helps you.
Hey nice to hear from you Alex, was wondering where you went haha. I saw that video, its amazing and moving! This is a great info, I"m going to check out this article out, thanks so much for sharing your thoughts! :D

Beautifully thought through, love your reasoning.

Good video. Alex, the right/left brain
theory went out with the 80's. I kinda
think that Jill Taylor knows better.
