Peter Seller's son had criticized this move for being too formal. His dad did have his moments but he didn't like how Hollywood exaggerated some of his negative aspects. The sad thing was Sellers suffered from to what I heard schizophrenia.
When I learnt that Rush was to play Sellers I threw my hands up in despair - I thought no-one can play Sellers! Then I saw the film and was engrossed! I completely forgot it was Rush! I almost went into mourning when Sellers died, so soon after Being there".
@jonjamg : the acting of Rush was the best thing in this film , the film itself wasn't marvelous as that , the direction as i think was a lil bit medicore that u can easily forget the film one hour after watching it , but Geoffrey's performance i think will go as the finest portrayals of Sellers for a long time :)
Anyone think heath ledger saw this when preparing to play the joker? now now hear me out lol around 1:08 theres something in the movement dont know quite what it is, if you dont think the same as me then its still cool and groovy life will carry on im sure.
@limitedpeopleskills : I see it too, now that you mention it. It's reminiscent of the Dark Knight scene where Joker is talking to Dent in the hospital about how if someone says a group of soldiers will lose their lives no one panics, but if someone threatens to kill the mayor, everyone loses their minds. It's all part of the plan...

There's A Bit Near The End Of The film where he burns all of his previous scripts including Dr. strangelove and the pink panther films so he should burn in hell for that!!!!
OR MOTHERS!!!

What a mis-titled film, only covering Peter Sellers's death in a brief closing sentence.

Only reason I'm seeing this film is too see how they handeled Stanley Kubrick. From this little scene, it seem like they did it ok.

Yeah, if it wasnt for rush's superb acting I dont think it would have had any shine at all. Still it was like a made for television movie, overall.

Rush should have made the Pink Panther instead of those awful remakes they made.
Because only one can make Jacques Clousseau, is like Freddy Krueger ! He belong to an actor !!
And Rush made so well Peter Sellers !! Just a recreation will be good enough !! That or Nothing is a good choice !!

Rush does a great job of playing Strangelove.

I fucking love Geoffrey Rush and Peter Sellers. Combining the two is just insaaane. It's too much. Rush won a Golden Globe for this. He deserved it!!

Absolutely! He is one of the greatest actors alive today. Just to bad he doesn't get more and bigger parts in movies.

those parts where they actually re-enacted the movies is just a bad move, we already know the originals dont go ruining it with ur bad acting.
