  • American Airlines always seems to fail. Overpriced and unsafe.

  • @Abeastlypie overpriced since not very many people fly with them and not safe cause they aren't maintaining there planes and if you think about it when was the last time a american airlines plane crashed

  • i do think its rather strange that i was at my aunts house with my cousins when this crash happened and the md-11 crash in china last year. kinda freaky :P

  • @boomer757 the 18th august i will travel by plane,

please don't go to your aunt's house. thanks :)

  • @honestly786 haha i wont :P

  • @honestly786 What a beautiful day. Its my birthday! :D

  • heihej wer will chattn ich ben so gelangweilt ^^ wer will meldet sich

  • Désolé mais c'et se qui se passe on va dire à toujour vouloir aller en premiere classe

  • Boring ...

  • Wow, a 'jetline' and 'American Airlines flight' but they forgot to say it was a Boeing.

    An honest oversight, I'm sure.

  • and to imagine such a huge thing could just disappear and leave no trace punching only such a tiny whole at the pentagon! give me a break!!!

  • wow scary

  • Not seen in the vid there but it was raining heavily. We've been having non stop rain for about 3 days now so that was also a factor

  • ...you can't initiate a go around once you're on the runway... by that point the aircraft has already had the "weight on wheels" and as such the ground lift dumpers have already deployed, auto braking has started, and you now are committed to staying on the ground.... airliner's are vastly different than cessnas

  • You sound as if you were standing next to it when it happened. Were you...? It's always easy to draw conclusiosn from behind your desk. You should only ask yourself what it's based on.

And another thing: How does this proof that god exists? Did he push it off the runway when you were standing next to the scene?

  • Nice to see that, only hours after the accident happened, you've already determined the causes. And all from behind your computer! Guess we can call off the investigation, right?

  • @Smoznizjev apart from extremely rare cases of complete brake failure or landing gear collapse the vast majority of runway overrun accidents on landing are caused by pilot error.

You can blame the weather but pilots are paid to do this day in and day out. Believe me people fly in much worse weather than this. During monsoon season in India and Indonesia there's more rain in a day than you get in a month in the States.

The key is risk management: knowing when to go around or divert.

  • I don't need you to lecture me on the possible causes of runway overruns. There are many possible causes, and unless you are part of the investigation committee, you don't have access to any more info than the rest of us, and that's very little. As such, you are in NO position to tell anyone what caused this accident, or that it was pilot error. It is pure speculation on your part, and is based on very little. Speculating with the certainty you are showing at this point is simply stupid.

  • Let's see: Avherald reports wind at Kingston is 320/12 and the aircraft overran runway 12. This means that they're landing with a 11kt tailwind. If they're tracking the ILS anywhere below CAT I conditions (e.g. visibility reduction due to showers) then they're over the 10kt tailwind limit specified by Boeing in the 737 AFM. I don't know what the AA SOPs are but the standard limit is 10kts.

A 10kt Tailwind landing adds ~10-15% more stopping distance, or around 1500-2000ft at 45ton+flap40+wet rwy

  • What are you waiting for? Get your ass over to the NTSB, tell them to stop wasting money on that investigation, you've obviously solved it!

Ah, to be 24 again, and know everything...

  • NTSB's job is to make recommendations to the FAA and their reports have legal ramifications on compensation litigation against manufacturers and airlines.

These days the internet bring together many aviation professionals who can piece together facts to locate probable causes long before the interim report comes out, which can take months. During the BA38 crash last year at Heathrow people are already speculating on the Fuel-ice 'slush' theory long before Britain's AAIB discovered what happened

  • @Smoznizjev If you think I'm young then I must surprise you that in the UK, Europe and Asia there are pilots who are as young as 21 flying Airbus A320s for many major airlines, straight out of flight school with minimum hours on schemes such as the EasyJet CTC Wings program.

Peter Gibbons became the youngest airline captain at 25 years of age flying the A320 for GB Airways, a British Airways subsidiary now sold to EasyJet. If you don't believe me search "Peter Gibbons GB Airways" on Google.

  • Why do you keep replying? My point sticks: you don't have access to anywhere near the facts the investigators do, so you are in NO position to make definitive statements like you're making here about the cause of the accident. None. I can't believe you're trying to make it seem a bunch of armchair investigators behind their computers are now worthy crash investigators. They're not, and you're not. They speculate at random, so they're bound to get it right every now and then.

  • @Smoznizjev What makes you think that the Youtube comments section is a forum for anything other than commentary, speculation and opinions? There are plenty of offensive, racist and sexist comments on Youtube.

My opinion is that based on the facts and circumstances it is highly likely the accident is caused by pilot error. If you don't like people posting commentary and opinions then you're welcome to complain to Youtube.

This will be my last reply. Stop taking things so seriously on Youtube.

  • lol it was pilot error dude,YOU'RE WRONG.face the fact

  • I'm sure you'll point us all out to the investigation report into this accident in that case, "dude". And while you're at it, you might as well tell me where I am "wrong" anywhere. You're 22, so an adult. I take you're able to read my comments, and smart enough to see that all I said was that Avantime was in no position to say what was the cause of the accident. He said it was pilot error, I said he didn't have enough information to make that call. Reading comprehension I believe they call it.

  • actually im 17

  • That explains a lot.

  • in Singapore airlines (where the smallest Jet is a 777/747/330/340, when you graduate as a pilot, which could be 23/24, you would be a second officer in one of those big jets.

SIA does not have domestic flights with props or 737 or 312/319

  • It proves that Lady Luck, a cruel and unpredictable mistress, was in a good mood at that moment.

  • This proves that GOD does exist, buddy

  • how does this prove that god exists just because nobody died in an overrun and why did you capitalize god you f****** nimrod

  • omg they r so lucky..really blessed

  • god doesnt exist buddy

Your comment makes me wonder if your brain exists...

I believe when it's your time to go.. it's your time to go nothing in this life is promised but GODS LOVE and DEATH! so God wasn't ready for these people it just wasn't time for them to die.

Anyway I'm scheduled to fly on AA out of Miami into Kingston this weekend...

I know none of you people know me but please pray for me and for all the other passengers that will be in my flight and others. thanks.

  • wow wow simmer down their creamy butta your startin too curdle.. please dont tell me to stfu because thats is just unnecesary foul language that makes you sound uneducated probably because first off you live in the us and are probably a big black woman from the heart of the hood and the only thing that can get you through the day is knowing that "god" loves you. and yes my brain does exist!. well i hope you have a wonderful vacation i wish and no need to pray because flying is very safe!!!

  • Careful, or you will soil your sheets! That comment about "big black woman from the heart of the 'hood" was totally unnecessary. Don't assume because it makes an ASS out of U & ME! And yes, I am a PROUD BIG BLACK WOMAN from my HOUSE in the "BURBS" in an excellent DIVERSE community!

  • sad that racist still exist today. we live in America come on people!!!

  • hahahaa point proven .... your brain doesn't exist. The space between your ears where your brain once had a home is filled with nothing but compacted ignorant racist fungus.

oye singao I can come out with a whole lot of racist drivel and compare you to everything from a pingita to a crica to a maricon i.e., a FAG....but why should I?

BOTH of your comments did it for me already.

Sweetie, try to make the day a blessed one ok.

  • ok i retract all comments im sorry creamy butta i didnt intend to cross the racial line because i am not a racist or religous person i just wish more americans would look past their indoctrination into christianity or other religons i am not saying they arent real im just saying their is absolutely no evidence that proves that god exists. would you please look into a professor from oxforf university in the uk by the name of richard dawkins. its good to keep your mind and eyes open! :)
