OWN12S. Yes you can use a desk top computer. Most DJs use laptops because they are portable and can carry them anywhere easy. Just make sure it meets the minnimal requirements to operate the software to avoid crashing. Also Traktor is on sale now $169 DUO and $299 PRO on PSSL.COM . I paid $349 for DUO So right now is the best time to scoop it up.
@972Trucker Thanks , i picked it up @ Guitar center For $179. Program is amazing. Im thinking about going to a laptop. Will a Pentium M work with this. The Trakor box says pentium 4.

I got Traktor Scratch Duo and I love it havent had a problem with I dont latency at all.
