so are these your usualy variety of terrestrial isopod, are they able to breath in water?
or are these specificly aquatic only isopods?
i know that terrestrial isopods do in fact have gills and need to stay moist at all times is why i wonder.

lol...this was during a 24hr event to collect and catalog as many local species as possible. when the sow bugs were correctly identified and grouped together, they got busy. we were mesmerized. we were very tired also. it was 3 am.
