  • Was fortunate enough to join a group of PCC members (Philadelphia Canoe Club) on a private permit in the Fall of 1989 to do this trip. Total of 4 OC-1, 17 K-1 , 3 small support rafts for the kayaks gear. Many of us took a day's turn to row one of the support rafts. Several of us were independent paddlers from the land of the Tohickon who were known to PCC.

Thanks again for posting another trip reviving more good memories for this retiree.

3 people joined the permit lottery 2 hit we used 1.

  • No, it was during permit season. One friend had a permit for the Middle Fork. Another for the Main a week later. They combined trips and a total of 19 of us went. Even more amazing is this year I got permits for both the MF and Main and did another continuous run (film to come) with both these friends. It looks like you were on the river about the same time. We launched in the MF Aug 8 and took off the Main Aug 20.

  • Wow, what a great trip and what a nice video! Thanks for sharing - it's always nice to see some other canoes out there!

Wondering - did you do the rivers after permit season?

  • Music list: "Soul" by The Shaky Hands, "Wish I Was in Heaven Sitting Down" by R.L. Burnside, and "Come by Storm" by Laura Gibson. (I had to really compress this to get it in within YouTube restrictions and that's why songlist at the end of the video is so blurry.)
