  • ROMNEY 4 POTUS 2012

Finally a REAL AMERICAN in the White House!

Don't forget who the REAL ENEMY is and we want him GONE in Nov.

    NOBAMA 2012

  • Omg it's Bush 2.0, don't you see the resemblance!? Fuck you Romney, I hope someone does a JFK on you.

  • no matter if a individual state makes a legal union, gay marriage will never made legal in the united states.those states that allow the gay joining, are of low morality.i am glad to live in texas, and out of the city.i do believe, that you cant stop the infection.but,i hope i am gone from this earth, before it spreads to where i live.

  • Jesus Fucking Christ i can't believe people are against gay marriage. I don't care what some fuckheads wrote in a bs book thousands of years ago. I'm not homosexual myself but i do know some people who are. In my country gay marriage is legal. How far down on the best countries to live in list do you think my country is? Oh wait, It's at the TOP. That's right bitches! Norway does believe people shoud be treated equal even if they like dick or pussy. Is that so wrong?

  • I believe marriage between to people is between those two individual people whether your are man or woman. I do not believe the state or church needs to recognize my love to one person at all. It is just another form of unnecessary contro

  • @steveb391 If you don't believe "state or church needs to recognize your love" then why push for marriage? Simply to push others into recognizing and accepting your alternate lifestyle, right? Why do groups that practice things far outside of the mainstream of society always want that same society to accept and support their practices, no matter how twisted they are? Just look at the pedophile groups that are pushing for acceptance in countries that legalized gay marriage. Never enough.

  • BTW, I've had to ban many responders here that rage against Romney believing him to be an anti-gay politician. You're just wrong. Romney isn't anti-gay at all. His views on marriage are main-stream political views, especially when considering how many conservatives their are in America.

My views and responses here are mine alone, and are not meant to be politically correct on this subject. So if you want to rant against me, go for it. If you want to see anti-gay, may I suggest Santorum?

  • @JohnnyPolitico Nothing but the truth Johnny.

  • "or prohibiting the free exercise thereof" this is a Christian nation. 892 Holy Trinity v. United States Supreme Court decision. This is to protect Church or Religion from the Government, NOT visa versa.

  • Still waiting to see where it says they shall enact no laws regarding Marriage, because if that's the case, why did they outlaw polygamy? They sent an army against the LDS people (aka Mormons) over this issue even before Utah was a state.

Still, how is citing the Constitution that never envisioned gays being given a right to marry somehow valid? Gay marriage has no historical religious support; doesn't relate to free speech, freedom of the press, freedom to assemble, etc.

  • While having feelings of attraction to the same sex may not be an overt choice, you choice to live a gay lifestyle is exactly that. I'm naturally attracted to women of different types. Does that mean that I should pettition congress to change marriage laws so that I can marry multiple women at once? Or to allow me to engage in a natural adulterous lifestyle because of my general attraction? Marriage between 1 man and 1 women is a proven benefit to society. Historically, all others harm it.

  • @livingthisnewlife I'm not a judge over how someone chooses to live their life and firmly believe no human being should be a victim of violence or harsh treatment simply for being different. However, scientifically it has never been proven that a human being is born gay due to genetic predisposition. I'm a graduate of Columbia University and have researched numerous articles on this very subject. Homosexuality is a learned choice through classical conditioning.

  • So you can't support this country but expect the country to support your desire to legalize gay marriage? Interesting. Legitimizing gay livestyles is not something that needs to be forced on us. In fact, if you knew all of the sorted behavior that goes on in the gay community and is "accepted" by them, you might be suprised and disgusted. Why is it that gays will condone, accept, justify, and support any and all behavior from their groups? If we did that we'd also have a huge credibility gap.

  • Domestic partnerships that "take away the ability for everyone to say we sleep around" work just fine here. The push for gay marriage is a push for acceptance of your lifestyle. The fact that only 3% of the gay community in places like Denmark and the Netherlands where gay marriage has been legalized for many years chooses to participate in marriage, directly underscores my point. Funny that you with your liberal lifestyle choices seem to need a marriage license to validate your love.

  • @JohnnyPolitico Do you have details of the "sorted (sic) behavior that goes on in the gay community"?

  • Absolutely. Google "gay bathhouses" for a start. these are sex-on-site establishments that have no redeeming value for a society. The idea that "what gays do in the privacy of their bedrooms" is a joke. Gays want public acceptance of their not-so-private practices, and this is what their push for marriage is all about.

  • @XTheTaylorTerrorX What do you "miss" "using"?

  • @zeek627 @zeek627 Your lifestyle choices are just that... choices. All behavior is not equal. If we were talking about the behavior you willingly choose to participate in or the problems you have with being attracted to your own sex, and the emotional problems associated with that, you'd be on the defensive big time. But make the argument that it's your "right" and you now feel indignant, and able to justify anything. The choice to live a gay lifestyle really isn't anything to be proud of.

  • After gay marriage was legalized by the MASS state supreme court romney tried to userp their authority by desperate momon fueled actions like ordering the state attorney general to step in (he refused). Then conjured up a long forgotten hundred year old law to discriminate against gays. NOT presidential.

  • The State Supreme Court legislated from the bench, and Mitt Romney tried to get the attorney general and legislature to prevent the court from carrying out their plans. He correctly fought against the courts actions stating that it was not the court's right to grant new rights, but the people's! Unfortunately, partisan Democrats refused to give their constituents the right to make this choice, but let the court force this upon the state. Legislating from the bench = Democrat mindset.

  • Civil unions offer all the protections for gay couples. I would think most people in America agree with civil unions.

Marriage between a man and woman should be protected for the sake of the children. As a child develops, if possible, they need strong male/female identification in their lives with the best result being a strong nuclear family.

  • Everyone here is argueing that its all about the benefits. I believe we should institute "Civil Unions" and give gay people all the rights and "benefits" of being "married" then they will find out why the "divorce" rate is so high.. :)

  • i love this man.he is right about marriage.we need a proper president back in office to bring our morals and family values back.i have been democrat all my life.i have children now,and i wont sell there souls,to get a few scraps thrown to us poor people.we need a hard core republican conservative back and keep them in the presidents chair for good.we protested and hated reagan in the 1980s,but now i wish we had a 1000 like him back in the white house.

  • Marriage is between a man and woman!!!!! Well stated Mitt!

  • @JohnnyPolitico These days, even Catholics get divorced.

  • @JohnnyPolitico Marriage does not need to be re-defined. It is and always has been between 1 man and 1 woman. Same sex couples need better legislation to allow them the same legal premise as a married couple. That is, the civil union laws need to be recognized by the insurance companies so they have the same medical and legal rights as a married couple. There will always be same-sex couples who won't be happy until they can say we're 'married' - to this I say, too bad.

  • @dom44444 Yeah you're funny. Go do your homework and look up mormons in more detail. We do not have more than one wife and we do love black people.

  • It is really sad how far the United States has degenerated spiritually, and how it reflects today that so many people opt to live their lives in sin, and now their agenda is to spread their filth onto the rest of us, forcing us to accept their sinful ways.

When a homosexual has the gaul to ask if the bible talks about homosexuality I'll be happy to point it out to them. I hope the US Supreme court will uphold the constitution and uphold the institution of marriage. 1 MAN & 1 WOMAN!!!

    amen

  • @LDS4Life71 I hope so too. Do you think the supreme court will keep the traditional definition of marriage? If not this country is going to go to pot.

  • Romney will never win an election because his own party is full of bigoted christians who would never vote for a mormon, catch-22

  • There's some truth in that statement, but I think our party has learned a lot since choosing McCain to represent them. Ironic that Obama was ultimately chosen to lead our country through one of the worst financial periods in its history, especially since Romney was the greatest business man ever to campaign for the Presidency. McCain's nomination definitely skinned us up, but Obama's socialism and inexperience has been like rubbing salt in the wound. Economic success is a top-down venture.

  • @JohnnyPolitico Was Obama really that bad a president? After all, he did propose a jobs bill that economists all agreed would actually have provided jobs and stimulate the economy and provided a stimulus package preventing the unemployment rate from skyrocketing from 9% to 13%

  • @ScarletGhost4356 Are you serious? The fact that you even ask shows that you've buried your head in the sand. Obama's resume was severely lacking from day one. His support came because everyone wanted to see the first Black president, and they didn't care that he was the most liberal guy in the Senate, supported infanticide, and that many of his personal heroes were communists. Yes Scarlet, he's way bad. Other than being "articlulate" (Biden's words), and being a capable bower, he's ???

  • @8peregrint8 - maybe that has changed now that we have a Muslim :)

  • Another tolerant liberal, LOL. Guess what I'm going to do for you, musik287? I'm going to leave your rant up here for everyone to see.

For the record, I checked your profile and found that "fucking nigger" is one of your pet phrases. There's nothing like outing people with their own comments, don't you agree?

I'm glad that we're on opposite sides dude. Yes, I'm for Romney, and I'm against anyone that a self-loathing loser like you is for. Your music sure strikes a sour note!

  • Sounds like you are bigoted against Mormons!

  • ROMNEY 2012!!!!

  • Equality only applies to minorities, gays, and other groups that try to upset the social order!

  • The whole gay marriage concept is just to make gays feel better about themselves. They continue to push their stigmatized lifestyle on others and the heterosexual community needs to fight back.

  • true that

  • Homosexuals introduced legislation in the Maryland General Assembly to abolish civil marriage ceremonies in the state and replace them with domestic partnerships for all couples.

"What they're talking about is an even more radical departure from traditional marriage... " said Del. Christopher Shank (R-Washington), the minority whip. "They're creating a situation for one special interest group that basically diminishes the value of marriage for everyone else."

    Gay agenda = attack marriage.

  • I'm pretty sure that MALCOM X said, "if religion takes away your freedom, to hell with that religion", well I'm sure he'd say the same about tradition. I live in canada where gay marriage is legal and has that bothered me in any way? no. In fact Canadian living standards are better than American ones, so Romney ought to shove his bigotry up his ass.

  • LOL, and isn't MalcomX a wonderful example of racism?! It's no big surprize that he marginalized religions that didn't accept his twisted world view, is it? I'm sure that MalcomX and Rev Wright have a lot in common;)

Take your religious bigotry and your fixation with men's asses elsewhere.

  • It's a farce to say that GBLT's only want equality. They have been pushing their lifestyles on others, and have been extremely hateful to those who refuse to believe their sexual behavior and raucous lifestyle is family friendly. Homosexual marriage has been allowed in Amsterdam, but only 3% of gays want this. Now the big push there is to legalize pedaphillia. I'm totally serious, look into it.

Did you miss seeing hateful gays rip a cross from an old woman's hands and stomp on it?

  • I'm for Mitt Romney in 2012! This country needs to return to its moral roots. Romney is the man to lead that return. We must fight the sleaze of Hollywood, the acceptance of pornography, the attempt to make homosexuality popular, and every other disgraceful practice. Just like confidence leaves the individual who participates in evil activity, confidence flees the nation that supports evil indulgences. Everyone reading this knows, pornography, fornication, adultery and homosexuality are wrong.

  • finally! there is someone who has logic here!

  • you people calling homosexuals devils are fake christian judgmental fuckin retards,Jesus didn't die for hetrosexuals he died for all human beings.

  • Jesus died for all who would repent and seek God's will. Unfortunately, there's not a large percentage of people today that actually try to implement this. So tell me, how do practicing homosexuals rationalize or equate their behavior with that of a penitent person seeking to do God's will?

  • BTW Mike, I reviewed your profile and support much of what you say in it. I also revile radical Christians such as Westborough Baptists and Black Liberation Theologists. However, I also believe that Christians have an obligation to speak out on all of the ills in our society, which includes homosexuality and gay marriage, abortion, etc. We are supposed to take up our crosses and teach God's truth, just as Jesus did and commanded his disciples to do.

  • You all need Jesus..Homosexuals that is.

Jesus can heal you of the devils in your head that keep you thinking you are doing the correct thing by sleeping with the same sex.

Leviticus 18:22 22Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

Gays are bringing a curse to the USA which is one reason along with abortion that has our economy down

  • Gays have the right of protection under the constitution but they have no right to be recognized as a union in the same manner as heterosexual couples. Why should a president be asked to make such a ruling anyway? This is stupid

  • how does gays have rights under the constitution? There is only one form of marriage recognized and thats traditional.

  • MITT ROMNEY 2012

  • Homosexuals plan to introduce legislation in the Maryland General Assembly today that would abolish civil marriage ceremonies in the state and replace them with domestic partnerships for all couples.

"What they're talking about is an even more radical departure from traditional marriage... " said Del. Christopher Shank (R-Washington), the minority whip. "They're creating a situation for one special interest group that basically diminishes the value of marriage for everyone else."

  • The question should not be what would it hurt, but what good would come of it to society? What would it add?

  • Mr. President to be keep up the good work. Let them know more of what you are about and what you have accomplished. Be positive. I have Vote for Mitt Romney on all of my sites and today I will post your sign in my store window. I can't wait to get my buttons to wear.

  • You're right. Gov'ts should not be able to decide what defines marriage. It's a religious institution. And the federal gov't provides incentives that should be allowed to everyone if they're going to do it all. Anyone ever heard of separation of church and state?

  • When people get together and form governments, they get to decide what rights they will or will not recognize, even in democracies. This country was founded by Christians on Judeo-Christian principles. Even many liberal atheists will admit this truth. Christianity has proven it's virtues, homosexuality hasn't.

  • JohnnyPolitico: "This country was founded by Christians on Judeo-Christian principles."

It kills me when ppl say that. Honestly, this country was founded by stealing it from other ppl by killing them or (if they were lucky) merely kicking them out of there homes.

...yep, sounds pretty Judeo-Christian to me.

  • That's right, Washington, Madison, Jefferson, and Ben Franklin all hung out together looking for some "redskin" they could brutalize. You liberals are laughable, really.

  • by stealing you would have to mean one country acquiring another illegally but since this was not a country when Europeans settled it, it was a matter of a culture overriding another culture in order to occupy a land. If you're really concerned about the plight of the first inhabitants of this land and you feel guilty about living on stolen ground then get the fuck out and stop benefiting from the settlement and establishment of a country on the land.

  • Homosexuals are just fighting for their Equal rights. its not up to christians to decied that, church in state shouldnt be one in the same. thats how corruption forms, if Homosexuals can get married. so what ? no big deal. they arent going to effect ur chances in getting into heaven. all i can say is that tha goverment needs to butt out and u christian freaks need to mind ur own business

  • Homosexuals are fighting for their chosen lifestyle to be normalized and accepted by the very Christians that you malign. Marriage is about family and children. They have legalized homosexual marriage in Denmark, yet only 3% of homosexuals even care to be married. It's really all about imposing your lifestyle on others. BTW, pedophiles in Denmark are using your same arguments currently to get their sexual preferrences legalized.

  • homosexuality isn't a "lifestyle"... It's a part of who you are (identity)

  • Another play on words. The lifestyle you choose is definitely one of the elements of who you are.

In my own case, I'm naturally attracted to a lot of women. So I can lead an adulterous lifestyle, and say that it's just who I am.

I can now attack everyone that doesn't agree with who I am (my lifestyle), label them as intolerant bigots, etc. I can join other adulterers to push an agenda to modify marriage and social laws, etc, ad infinitum, right?

    Should society submit to this?

  • We have decided to make certain allowances for this type of behavior, which is unfortunate; just as we have to make allowances for heterosexuals who chose to live adulterous lifestyles. Nevertheless, those lifestyles should not be openly promoted, nor should our valued institutions of marriage and parenting be subjected to active acceptance of these socially destructive lifestyles.

  • Mitt Romney for President!!!!!

  • What a phoney prick! If he actually thought it would get him elected President, he'd divorce his own wife and marry a dude tomorrow! This man is totally evil....and full of shit, to boot!

  • Speaking of boots, your inability to conduct yourself as a reasonable human being has left me no choice but to boot you from this discussion. Getting booted is something that I am sure you are very accustomed to.

  • and anyway, all of your "assumptions" about the Church of Jesus christ of later day saints (it's proper name) are not even true. your the ignorant one.

  • WELL AT LEAST THE MORMONS GOT ONE THING RIGHT!

even a small child (who hasn't been brainwshed by the socialist public school system) can view nature and see very clearly that union between male and female species are the only natural, rational and logical unions. so i suppose most animals have more commons sense, logic and reason than homosexuals do.

  • GREAT!!! As long as you spell his name correctly, it is a great advertisement!!! My vote is a solid Mitt Romney!!! Mitt Romney in 2008 will easily beat Hillary and the media is scared!!! Look how good he runs his campaigns. Don't you want to beat Hillary? He's the only one with the clean past and leadership experience. VOTE MITT ROMNEY!!!

  • think what you want but its true. I know who i hate and who i dont. pretty sure that you dont

  • so -you actually believe your own lies

    how sad/

  • okay...you are sooo stupid. stop trying to bring others down to make yourself feel better. do you realise that you are the only one making comments anymore. it's cause nobody want to listen to your crap anymore.

  • People are being ignorant. Falsely accusing everyone of the Mormon religion of hating other religions proves to be hate itself. You're just contradicting yourself.

  • Your too ignorant to argue with

  • come to Aussieland well will give you something to think about!!

  • That sounded like an educated comment. Thanks. At least the economy will go up with dumb people like you gone.

  • Homosexual marriage would give rise to homosexual adoption which would expose children to sexual perversion. Children raised in homosexual homes are going to be screwed in the head. No special rights for gays! Keep your sex life to yourself.

  • ROMNY IS ANTI CHRIST

  • zaktuta You're probably just saying that cause your gay. P.S. Jesus Christ and the entirety of the Bible is totally against homosexuality. So quit misusing the term Anti-Christ as if you serve Christ 'cause you obviously don't

  • God bless Gov Mitt Romney!

  • UltraWWG, thanks for telling us of your experience as a non-Mormon in a mixed marriage. Our church leaders ask us to be especially supportive and sensitive to part-member families such as yours. It's good to see that the LDS churchmembers you've known have lived up to this. Both of my parents were in-active, non-believing Mormons, and I also experienced a lot of love and support from local LDS members.

  • It's great when people can overcome a handicap like single parenting and make the best of it. It's certainly better than aborting a baby. No, I'm not advocating outlawing this, especially since it's been around as long as parenting. Gay parenting is somewhat of a contradiction in terms. And as for gay marriage, an overwhelming number of gays don't even want to marry. It's not conducive to their chosen lifestyle.

  • Traditionalmarriage has proven benefits for society. Marriages are for raising children, and children need a Mother and a Father. Why impose laws on society that endow gays with something that nature or the constitution hasn't granted them?

  • Adultery stems from opposite sex attraction, and from a willingness to give in to "natural impulses". It's a great comparison of what homosexuals do. Homosexual tendencies do not have to translate to homosexual behavior. Many Gays marry straights everyday and choose to follow the path that God has set. They choose to become natural parents, and to overcome the natural impulse that makes them an enemy to God. The same is true for straight people who choose monogamy over adultery.

  • It is natural to breath, to eat, to sleep, to cry, in fact hte devil is made to be the symbol of our natural desires. If I enjoy a slice of cake, is that a sin, because I indulged in a natural desire & pleasure. What have you got against the world God created? And if these impulses are from the devil, does that mean the devil is greater than God's will for us to be happy. Is the devil greater than God's will?

  • In the first place, your anti-Americanism might stem from you being an English liberal. Your bigoted anti-religious statements speak for themselves and stem from your homosexual politicism. Separation of Church and state is a misnomer. America was established to protect religious freedom, not to prevent its exercise, as you seem to believe. If your version of morality is not supported by the earth's major religions, you choose to attack the religions. Interesting choice.

  • Faire enough. Does that mean I can perform my satanic rituals of the five elements in a park surrounded by children? If they rave at me, can I claim to be a victim of bigoted hate? I believe the afterlife is meant for those who prevent others from claiming superiority of humanity. My practices include stangling priests. Don'thate me for practicing my faith. How can I go to Heaven unless I kill these priests?

  • Ponyboy, believe it or not even Satanism is an established religion. In 1969 Anton LeVey set up the First Church of Satan in San Diego, Cal. And yes, to a point we have to allow them to worship how they choose. Practices that go contrary to laws established to protect others are the exception. So, no, your extreme (and unreasonable) example of strangling priests, etc, wouldn't be allowed. Want to try a more rational and direct route to make your point?

  • And now you resort to bigotry in order to decry perceived bigotry? That's called hypocrisy. America was founded by Christians upon the principles of Christianity, and Christianity has a problem with homosexuality. It also has a problem with adultery, but adulterers could also claim that they are just giving in to natural feelings that they were born with. In any case, parents and marriage partners need to be held to the highest standards.

  • You can post your opinions all you want, but that doesn't give them the weight of truth. The truth is that gays are much more irresponsible in their personal lives, with relationships, and in group practices. Despite your objections, only a small fraction of gays want to marry, and even fewer are prepared to abandon their destructive lifestyle in order to raise children. Nature doesn't allow gays to produce children, but you demand this as a right anyway.

  • Will same-sex marriage benefit society? It has been legal in the Netherlands since 2001, but only a small percentage of gays express any desire to marry. They have notoriously short and turbulent relationships and are rarely monogomous for any length of time. This isn't a good marriage environment, especially for raising children. With gays comprising only 1-3% of the population and only 3% of these wanting to marry, I believe this issue is over politicized.

  • (1)"They have notoriously short and turbulent relationships and are rarely monogomous for any length of time". u know ALL gay people around the world? U know my life? I'm doomed to have short and of course turbulent relationships? Stop with your propaganda bullshit. Maybe their relationships have not lasted as long because they have not found right guy or girl yet.

  • (2)"This isn't a good marriage environment, especially for raising children." - can say the same about straight people who have "turbulent relationships and are rarely monogomous for any length of time" -- people are different! Gay people EVENTUALLY want to get married (like straight people) when they think they have found the right person and want to live the rest of their life with - that is the most common reason why anybody gets married.

  • (3)Why not allow gay people to get married? - Minus the body parts involved, there is no difference between the many types of relationships gay people and straight people have.

  • No difference between gay and straight relationships? Not true by any stretch. Gay relationships and lifestyles are diametrically opposed to traditional marriages in many areas. For example, gays are much more prone to being perpetraters and victims of domestic violence. Monogamy is also extremely rare in their relationships. Check out the studies before just blindly throwing misleading information, ok? These facts ought to be considered in evaluating gay marriage & adoption.

  • "Gay people EVENTUALLY want to get married" And where do you get this mistaken idea from? Certainly not from polling what gays say on the matter. In European contries where gay marriage has been legal for years, only 3% claim that they want to marry in the future. Marriage doesn't fit into the gay lifestyle, and neither does raising children, which is the real purpose of marriage.

  • "Maybe their relationships have not lasted as long because they have not found right guy or girl yet" xxxjppjxx, did you ever think that the anonymous sex clubs, lascivious gay blogs and magazines, and general everything-goes philosophy by gay groups might have something to do with turbulent relationships?

  • What gay people need to realize is that people can take a principled stand against same-sex marriage without being bigots. The American Psychological Association recognizes this fact, as do many professional people, organizations, and societies. Romney's opposition to this is extremely principled, despite the bitter labeling and attacks waged on him by many gays and liberals who have no problem launching nasty personal attacks against everyone whose political oppinions differ from theirs.

  • "have no problem launching nasty personal attacks against everyone whose political oppinions differ from theirs."

Yeah, you never see conservatives using personal attacks. /sarcasm

  • "Yeah, you never see conservatives using personal attacks." The point is, you don't see Romney doing this. This is commonplace by his opponents though, especially people here on youtube. Our first responder here, wntoply6 is a prime example.

  • duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude..

"marriage is an institution between a man and a woman

and a woman and a woman and a woman.."

Walter Mitty,.. The greatest ARMIES over the past CENTURIES.. endorsed HOMOSEXUALITY.

pal, SPARTANS use to meet women in cover of darkness to pro-Create while the men (Army) fk'ed their brains out, Walter Mitty pal. research your history, bucko.

  • Homosexuality wasn't even coined until 100 years ago, so what evidence do you have that armies supported it? And don't give me all your greeks were gay crap. I've got news for you, Hercules never existed.

  • I agree marriage is a between a man and his four wives. Ohh ... pnwed you mormon moron.

  • What does polygamy have to do with the same-sex marriage issue? If anything, polygamy is more proven and traditional than same-sex marriage. It's supported by the Bible, whereas homosexuality is condemned.

  • Romney is a phoney. He beleives that black people can only enter heaven as slaves, and therefore endorses slavery. Do you know Romney believe his underwear has magical powers, and that Native Indians are decendants of a lost tribe of Jews? I think he should stop smoking crack if he wants us to take him seriously.

  • Stewart, you're showing a lot of ignorance with this distorted slander. Mormons offer people of all races and ethnic origins all the benefits and blessings of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, including the higher Priesthood and the ordinances of the Temple. Their underwear isn't "magic", they dedicate themselves to serving God and wear this as one symbol of their dedication. Their blessings come through the atonement of Christ.

  • "Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ" What was wrong with the original, wasn't the original good enough for him? What about the native indians being declared a lost tribe of jews? You know we have disproved that after advances in DNA. Doesn't Romney believe in DNA? Would he send someone to prison even after DNA evidence cleared him of any wrong doing?

  • Stewart, great observation and I totally agree that nothing was wrong with the original church that Christ established. And as was prophesied by Paul and others, there was a falling away or apostasy where the truth of God's word was taken from the earth (see Acts 20:29-30, 2nd Thesolonians 2:1-3, Isaiah 29:9-13, Isaiah 60:2, Amos 8:11). Also, Don't be fooled by those saying DNA has disproved anything. This is simply wrong.

  • As if it isn't obvious, let me state clearly for everyone that I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (or Mormon). I consider myself a born-again Christian in the fullest sense of the word. I fully believe in the atonement of Jesus Christ, and try my best to follow his teachings and live his gospel.

  • On DNA: there have been some great studies, articles, and advances since this was first applied to find ancestral origins of Native Americans. They generally link to Asia, where the lost ten tribes of Israel were said to have fled and been assimilated, but they have also been linked to Jews. If you want more information on this the best place to search the many scholarly articles on this is at farms(dot)byu(dot)edu.

  • Stewart, there is one more point of interest on the DNA topic that I would like to make. The known haplotype DNA markers of Native Americans include links to Asia and Jews. Even if you discount the Jewish link, the link to Asia is significant because the Jaredites of the Book of Mormon came from Asia and may very well have intermixed with the descendants of Lehi (also of the B of M). This is laid out quite well in the article: "A Few Thoughts From a Believing DNA Scientist". Google it.

  • I saw a documentary on the lost tribe of Jews living in Asia. They actually practised Judaism and are recognised by prominent rabbies. However, a geneticist compared their DNA, and said any correlation was inconclusive at best.

  • Stewart, you are right about DNA being inconclusive in these areas, which is a fatal problem with DNA being used to disprove the LDS Church. Structuring a study of this is very complex, especially since Lehi only mentions that he was a descendant of Manassah. Minor attempts to link Native Americans with Cohan Priests using DNA have generally failed so far, and this is the sole claim used by detractors in saying that DNA has disproved church doctrine. It's based on false DNA analysis.

  • Interesting. I guess he doesn't know much about the history of marriage. In the 3000 years of recorded history polygamy is by far the most popular and same sex marriage has been accepted in many cultures this includes Native Americans. Sorry Mitt, I'll pick a president that knows more about world history.

  • In referring to 3000 years of traditional marriage, Romney is pointing out the fact that Traditional marriage has been proven to benefit societies. This isn't the case for same-sex marriage. In fact, the word homosexuality is only about 100 years old itself. Same-sex marriage has not proven itself whatsoever.

  • "Traditional marriage has been proven to benefit societies"

How so? It's no more beneficial than any other form of marriage and I doubt it has any real impact on society as a whole. Some of the most enlightened times in history have had legal polygamy and same sex marriage so I don't see how you can say traditional marriage is more beneficial. I don't know of any societies that crumbled because of homosexual marriage. Your comments don't add up.

  • Also to the point about the word homosexual being only 100 years old. The word may be fairly new but that hardly means homosexuality is new. Same sex marriage has been documented throughout recorded history.

  • "Same sex marriage has been documented throughout recorded history." Oh really, well please provide some citations and sources on this then. This will be quite a revelation to everyone. Tell us, which societies have legalized same-sex marriage throughout recorded history?

  • Asia, Europe, North America, Africa to name a few. Seriously dude, I'm not going to do your homework for you. Clearly you have no knowledge of Rome or Greece as well. Anyone reading this discussion is free to look up this information. Try wikipedia, google, and read some books on ancient history...

  • Of Rome your article says of same-sex marriage that it "did not fall under the scope of Roman law". Of Greece it says that "many of these relationships might be more clearly understood as mentoring relationships between adult men and young boys rather than an analog of marriage". Your argument is not holding up well.

  • You claim, "Some of the most enlightened times in history have had legal polygamy and same sex marriage", but cite no sources. Would you care to expand on this claim?

  • Google it, it's not hard to find

  • "Google it, it's not hard to find" If it's not hard to find, then you must be extremely remiss in not being able to back this up. It's your claim, but you can't back it up, can you? I'm well aware that polygamy has been approved over the ages, but not same-sex marriage. This would be extremely isolated.

  • I've posted links 3 times and it's not showing up. Google it or go to wikikipedia and search same sex marriage and History of same-sex unions

  • I did your wikipedia search and found the topic called "History of same-sex unions". It is very weak and only notes sparse examples of this. It certainly doesn't support your claim that same-sex marriage was beneficial in any meaningful way. It also notes that this practice was frowned upon by Christian and Islamic based societies which have been dominant throughout much the world for the past 2000 years. Romney's opinion on the matter is being reinforced much better than yours.

  • You don't see the impact of traditional marriage on society? Wow, I suppose you think state sponsored orphanages are the way to go in raising children, and that prostitution is the answer to sexual fulfillment. You are so far gone that you can't admit the obvious truth.

  • I don't see an impact because there isn't one. Single parents raise children, same sex couples raise children, unmarried couples raise children, multiple couple families raise children, you don't need to be married to raise a good child. It's astonishing that you deny these facts.... Or are you overlooking them to fit your agenda?

  • You don't see the impact of traditional marriage because it doesn't fit your agenda. Are you claiming that societies are benefitted more by single parents than by two-parent families? Wow, way to pull that out of the air. This isn't historical. What is historical is how notoriously short and disturbed homosexual relationships are. This isn't conducive to raising children.

  • No you're saying that society would fall apart without traditional marriage and that's just false. History shows differently. It's not the kind of marriage that has an impact it's the home and how much support/love there is. The type makes no difference.

  • Again you claim that history shows differently without giving us the slightest example. No it doesn't, and yes, society would fall apart without traditional marriage. You can see it happening everywhere that traditional marriage is weakened. Look at urban black communities with elevated unmarried birthrates. Look at Africa with these same problems. Show me one instance where any society has been strengthened when traditional marriage has been weak.

  • Oh my god I've told you that links don't show up and I've pointed you in the proper direction several times. Look it up yourself lazy.

As for inner city problems and problems in underclass systems, do you think that there's a possibility that the problem doesn't just lie with the father being gone and perhaps it might be that the family is extremely poor? Or maybe it's that drugs run rampant in the ghetto? Or civil unrest? Education? Cleary marriage is the least of their problems.

  • All of the problems you mention as inner-city problems do hurt those involved, but they have been linked as symptoms of weak marriages rather than unrelated problems. Many great individuals have risen above these problems, but there is ample proof that strong traditional families are the best measure of success against economic and social ills of society.

  • Really because all the data I've seen shows it's the kind of household not the type of marriage that determines a strong upbringing.

  • "Cleary marriage is the least of their problems." That statement shows that you don't understand how fundamentally important traditional marriage is in overcoming problems of a troubled society.

  • Are you suggesting that if traditional marriage went away then our society would descend into chaos? Blaming societies problems on marriage is completely dodging the real problems.

  • "Are you suggesting that if traditional marriage went away then our society would descend into chaos?" Bingo!!! Absolutely! Of course! Why don't you show me any successful country on the planet today where traditional marriage isn't practiced by a majority of its people? You're so far gone that it's really useless to continue a discussion on this with you. You're living on another planet.

  • Unbelievable! Traditional marriage as we now know it is a recent development. Single man and woman marriage was nothing more than property arrangements and a fresh uterus to make babies. Societies that practiced polygamy did fine, societies that practiced no marriage did fine, and I can't believe you base all of societies ills on the union of 2 people. Learn some history man, your comments are incredibly ignorant.

  • "Traditional marriage as we now know it is a recent development" Ridiculous. Christianity has sponsored traditional marriage for over 2000 years now, but perhaps you blinked and missed it? Polygamy is also religiously based, and mirrors traditional marriage in everything except the number of wifes. Societies that practiced no marriage did fine? Wrong again. You make these blanket statements with nothing to back them up.

  • So you're denying that the historical form of traditional marriage used to actually be arranged by the parents and little to do with love and more to do with property arrangements? That also goes with polygamy, which was often used in Islamic weddings. I can see you're well educated about this. :rolls eyes:

  • Denying and distorting history won't help you come up with examples where same-sex marriages have improved society in any meaningful way. Gay relationships are notoriously rocky and short lived. Only a small fraction of gays even desire to marry, as is shown in countries where same-gender marriage is now legal. The gay community has been anything but responsible in their lifestyle practices. There is no reason to suppose that legalizing same-sex marriage would have any desirable benefits.

  • Oh I see... I'm the one that's lying even though I never said same sex marriages have improved society. In fact I've held the stance that the type of marriage has no impact and instead it involves the household atmosphere. Studies, and history, support this stance. It's nice to see your bias finally come through though.

  • "I never said same sex marriages have improved society." Great then you shouldn't have a problem with Americans deciding against it. Studies and history, especially American history, overwhelmingly support traditional marriage.

  • cujothekitten, without any examples of what you are refering to in history JohnnyPolitico wins the debate, in my opinion. (even if you can't figure out how to post links; write some plain facts.)

  • Again, sorry but you're the one who came over here and left comments on my video posting, not the other way around. Nobody's holding you here that I can see. A mature response from you might be to go away yourself. You must have quite an insignificant life to have not thought of this yourself.

  • You say, "stay in your orange ultra con, ignorant county bubble." I guess you've decided that Orange County, California is ultra-conservative then? What a joke. Talk about ignorance. And if I really needed to poll the gay community, I don't need to go all the way to Massachusetts. You may not have known this, but we have quite a few of them here in the San Francisco area.

  • Also, is there such a thing anymore as a very white California town? I'm the exception not the rule. Also, I don't limit myself to white girls. I'm kind of partial to hot Brazilian types.

  • You have some really raunchy gay video favorites. So wntoply6, give me your top 5 picks of political candidates that best support your your gay lifestyle and politics?

  • you don't know what the hell you're talking about. stay in your very white little california town and worry about finding your own very white girl to marry, and stay the hell out of massachusetts politics, you ultra con ignorant ass.

  • Wow what a great logical argument you make! Did you major in philosophy? Rather than getting your pink undies in a wad, why didn't you at least try to refute my answer? Could it be because I understand what happened well enough? Thought so.

  • ok johnnypolitico, so tell me exactly what happened here in the state of massachusetts with regard to the legalization of gay marriarg. walk me thru exactly how this event happened. keep in mind i have watched it very closely and know this case well. don't give me your opinions, give me all the facts!

  • Ok I'll bite. The state supreme court ruled that gays had to be allowed to marry, and they told the state to change the marriage laws to allow this.

What did not happen is more significant. Neither the people nor legislature voted to legalize same gender marriage. Your turn.

  • btw, i didn't ask you to "bite" i asked you to give me the details of this case, which you can't so, just keep out of it. you don't know what the courts did here, the arguments that preceeded it and the ramifications. so best just shut the hell up and stay in your orange ultra con, ignorant county bubble.

  • Oh but I did answer your question all too well. They fact that you can't seem to conduct a conversation on this point due to your emotional ferver suggests that you're the one who should shut up about it and stay in your therapists cozy little office. You need some serious anger management therapy before you have a stroke, seizure, or heart attack. Seek help.

  • you answered only the way you wanted, not the way i asked. don't give me your psychological problems bub, you're the jerk here. you put your ignorant nose in business you know know nothing about in an effort to minimize other people's rights. like i said, stay in your orange county ignorance. ass!

  • You came here with a huge chip on your shoulder, didn't you? Then you refuse to discuss views and immediately engage in personal attacks. Funny, that's what I call being a jerk. I didn't have any false expectations of your maturity level to begin with. And as for my commenting on subjects or traveling to places, well, even with you living here, I believe this is still America, so I think I'm free to say or go anywere I please. So much for liberal tolerance, huh?

  • spare me johnny. the chip is that romney is not who he says he is, and ignorant people like you believe him. my chip is to make sure other ignorant people like you understand this fact. you stuck your nose in a subject you nothing of. that makes you the jerk. and why should liberals have any tolerance of you religious right morons? you have tolerance for anyone!

  • Sorry but I think you're too ignorant to judge who's ignorant or not. You're not making your case that you know anything about the same-sex marriage issue or that you're rational enough to discuss Romney's merits as a political leader. I guess I should thank you though for saying, "you have tolerance for anyone!" In all honesty though, I don't think I have much for truly ignorant, hateful people like you.

  • and when anyone stands up to some greenhorn like you who does not know what the hell he is talking about, your recourse true to chided neo cons is to place blame elsewhere, and switch subjects. ain't working here dude. my advice to you again dude, is to mind your own fucking orange county business. look out for your gay congressemen!

  • So you refuse to discuss the issue and then you criticize me for addressing your rants on other areas. You're too much. Why don't you try another tactic since all you've done so far is make yourself look ridiculous. Even your silly little digs at Orange County aren't having an effect, because I don't live there and I don't feel any need to defend it. Your anger is really amusing. I know, why don't you tell me all the nasty violent things you would like to do to ignorant ultra-cons?

  • because you disagree romney, we're glad you're no longer govenor, and we think you should move back to michigan where you come from. we don't like or want you here in a thoughtful, caring state of equal rights, unlike what your friends in the religious right want...those haters.

  • So you like it when judicial activists legislate from the bench and defy the separation of powers provision in the Constitution? Wow.
