@frostylala141 You are right. Last year I was in Colombia three times. I rented a car and travelled 2000 km without a problem. Last time I travelled by plane from Bucaramanga to Bogota and than to private Hacienda Diamante in Villeta without a problem. If you stay away from Venezuela and Equador border you are safe. I love Colombia and going there in November again. Next year I am moving there to live and help people. I am Polish living in Canada.

To be a foreigner in Colombia is just great, the problem is been a Colombian. 250 us dollars as minimum salary (millions get less than that), no opportunity of social mobility, 50 years of civil war, human rights abuses from the guerrillas, the paramilitary militias and the government, plus our right wing extremist media-dictator to say just a few of many nasty things that currently are taking place in Colombia.

@hidri5 There are obvious simmilarities and overlaps in culture as with all Latin American countries. The main difference is that Colombia has more African influences in music and culture than Mexico. (It's Caribbena region is like a blend of New Orleans and Cuba). The south is more Andean like Peru. The capital Bogota has a European feel like London or Amsterdam. Mexico has more tourists because of its proximity to the States, cheap flights & well publicized tourism. Colombia is just stating.

Colombia is one of the most amazing countries in the entire world, not just for foreign people, but for us, colombian people too. The problem is we don`t see what`s in front of us because we`re used to it, but that does'n mean that we can't change that.
We only have to stand up for what we love, and we have to start seeing the blessing that means being colombian.
Yes we have a drug problem, yes, we live in violence, but look to all the amazing things we've done for ourselves, so let's do it!

To be a foreigner in Colombia is just great, the problem is been a Colombian. 250 us dollars as minimum salary (millions get less than that), no opportunity of social mobility, 50 years of civil war, human rights abuses from the guerrillas, the paramilitary militias and the government, plus our right wing extremist media-dictator to say just a few of many nasty things that currently are taking place in Colombia.

Too cold in Bogotá, go to Cartagena de Indias, too hot there, go to Medellín, way too much beautiful girls and you may get jealous, go to Cali... too much salsa dancing and good food there? Go to Rioacha, too much Vallenato there? Go to Turbo (and you may get tempted to cross a border line and be in Panamá (which it was a piece of Colombia too)...

@hidri5 There are obvious simmilarities and overlaps in culture as with all Latin American countries. The main difference is that Colombia has more African influences in music and culture than Mexico. (It's Caribbena region is like a blend of New Orleans and Cuba). The south is more Andean like Peru. The capital Bogota has a European feel like London or Amsterdam. Mexico has more tourists because of its proximity to the States, cheap flights & well publicized tourism. Colombia is just stating.
