I applaud Mr. Walton! He does have a feel for the Elgar. And this piece of music is felt and then conveyed through talent to and through the instrument.Second to Jackie, this is the best I have heard.Thank you for posting.
Despite the fact that England, a country who does not have the natural variety in landscape that other countries have, its people knows so well to use what they have, as this video shows it. Few composers, but the great music of Elgar in a great performance. The' loss' of the colors gives rather a plus in taste of the sober but beautiful landscape, like a spice. Composition of the images and editing are a regal. One of the best videos I have seen since I got on You tube.
Love the littered beer bottle - shocked me back from fantasy to reality. I'm also going to have to rethink my concept of the opening of this piece - "going for it" with the A on the G string. Nice.
Just heard you guys being interviewed on R3 earlier today and you mentioned this so I had to check it out. Absolutely wonderful!

I have listened to this over and over and at this moment I am exhausted.
That's the way this has to be played. This is the most impressing Interpretation of the Elgar I have listend to for a long time.
Bravo!!!

An inspiration as to how Elgar probably wanted his music played. This is something very, very special indeed. True to the score as always...
