Madden supports and defends serial rapist quarterback Ben Rapistberger. He threatened to sue and take all the the Marc Laurinaitis charity money. Madden said the refs made were making calls to extend the stanley cup so the NHL could have more games on nbc then hangs up people when they say then NHL is fixed. He is also afraid to have auther investigator Dan Moldea on because he has documented the Mafia ties to NFL and how the NFL fixes games also. Madden is a coward.
@jblive1985 No, he's right. It's storylines and character that draw. If Hulk Hogan has proved anything, it's that wrestling has very little to do with it.
@NotIkeman Eventually wrestling has to come into play to end the storyline - Even WWE still has rgw qies WRESTLING associated with it's product . . . Would have little impact if you did the sotryline and ended it with a bake off and not a wrestling match . . . Call it what you want - it's still rasslin' - plain and simple.
This vid was shot in 09, I think they screwed up the Maffia storyline as it SHOULD have been worked to push the young guys in having the old guys putting them over. But it never happened.
You fuckers need to stop looking at the fact Madden is fat and outspoken. What he says is right. You can't look past the fact he may of been a bad announcer, doesn't matter. He speaks the truth here
One, Cornette didn't bankrupt SMW. Second, if you listen to this idiot, the last time wrestling was good, was when he was doing his so called "Telephone Hotline". I am sorry but some stuff is good. Madden was wanting to sue Mark Curtis because Cornette was there and was afraid of a confrontation with Cornette.
@wyldpat and the cause for the show he was goina sue was to donate money to a man who had cancer i dont remember his name but i heard that from jim lol
Mark speaks a lot of truth in this interview and what they were describing about the WWE has-beens in TNA was EXACTLY what happened in the mid-to-late 90's in WCW. Only back then, for a time with the NWO, it worked. Unfortunately, other than Goldberg, no homegrown WCW talent was given a really huge push and when they tried to rehash the same storyline over and over again with the same people, Vince crushed them.
Paul Heyman has a great mind for the business. I truly think he wanted to keep ECW as original as possible. If you watch a program called I believe Beyond the Ropes, he talked about alot of different things and about certain character's. Very interesting I thought.
He really does know his stuff. Maybe his judgement is a bit off because of some of his friendships, but overall, he tells it like it is. I've been a wrestling fan since right before Hulkamania and even in the down years in the early-to-mid 90's, I stayed with it and was rewarded with the NWO and Stone Cold and the Attitude era, and I still watched it every week after the downturn. However, I've barely watched it at all the last two years
There really hasn't been anyone to make me tune in for years. You can say what you want about workrate and storylines, but it's the characters that people care about. Back around 1999, Stone Cold could have had a cooking show right in the middle of the ring and people would have watched because they loved him.
@MrJulius72 Well said, and I agree with Madden about the wrestling being the condiment (sp?). It's necessary obviously, but it's not what sells. I think this is why ROH will never get any bigger than it is. ROH is all about the work for the most part
...... (10 seconds later) did we lose him? LMAO
