It is surely a 100% Kickass product. I own one and had been using it for 4 years. Good airflow and heat transfer to the chassis. It'd be awesome if Thermaltake redesigns this case to have a bottom-mounting psu and no side fan, also some room at the other side panel to hide cables.
I own the case since 2006 and yes, you're right, it's got great air circulation. I would also give it a 100% Kickass for this product. However, it would have been better to have a bottom-mounted power supply design though.
My name is Miguel, I'm from Portugal. I have a Thermaltake Tsunami Dream case Black for about 6 years now. I know that, at the beginning I was using the front LEDs (the ones in the door), but i think that for less power consumption I have disconnected them. Then, after all this years, I have changed my components many times, and now I want to re-connect the front LEDs but I cant remember where I plug them in. The user manual don't have any answers. Could you help me, please? Thanks
I used to have one and apart from a couple of things, it was a great case. Most impressive of all how it managed to keep dust out of the case. Wonderful.
Problems include noisy fans, door which doesn't remain open on its own, tooless PCI mechanism which has issues with some cards.
I used to have this case, it had no problem with a ATI X1800XT. If you find the length of it and of the 460 you can guess.
If you remove the HDD drive cages (which are removable), you might be able to fit it there if it is longer than the x1800xt.
2 warnings for this one
1)If you keep changing discs, the front door of the case cannot remain open, it closes automatically and you have to use one hand to keep it open while changing. 2)The tooless pci SUCK,but you can remove them :)
@Trusteft Thanks for the reply, I would really like to know if this case would fit a modern build with a Phenom II x6, a GTX 460 and such things...
The problem I see with it is the included outdated cooling, such as a 90mm fan on the back which I think is small by today´s standards...of course I can change those but I don´t know what space is there in this case considering it was thought for systems of 2004-2006...
On Tt site it says it fits gpus up to 12:29" long and the 460 is like 8"
The length of the card shouldn't be a problem no matter what card you use, IF you don't mind removing the 3.5"" cage. If the Tt site says you can fit the 460, then you can.
Regarding the 90mm fan, the problem is that it is way high up, it is made to support the CPU, not the GPU.
Although I believe it is a great case, if you are going to have a hot card and/or going to overclock, then I wouldn't suggest getting this one.
My brother bought this case in 2004 but it was silver and without sidefan and window. I felt jealous becuse 120mm fans were very uniqe back when and it looked amazing, even had dustfilter and was great for lan parties since it´s weight was around 5kg.
the toolless PCI slots had me sold... NOT to buy this. The new tools less stuff is simply crap, not near strong enough to hold heavy cards plus they break/aren't very sturdy. It's surprisingly hard to find tooled cases these days.
i watch a lot of computer hardware and review videos, but really, i think these are the ones i really trust. he's quite no-nonsense, but he does it without being monotonous, he's easy to listen to. 5/5
whenever im looking at parts, i always watch these videos.
that thing on the top of the case brakes so easily, my thermaltake bach vx's port door or whatever is it called, those lids snapped and now its moving around and pissing me off :)...
I have this case. Good points- cooling, 3 included fans, lightweight and value.Bad points- unstable + top heavy with powerful PSU at top of case. Flimsy build quality, expansion card holders. Go For a Lian Li
i respect the fact that you help people with your reviews and all, and i have nothing against you, just please work on your speach, you sound like a robot, for now. Keg
I'm using the the Soprano cases which have basically the same layout (except for the removeable drive bays), and it it physically not possible to fit a 8800GTX (Leadtech Reference Board) in there. Looks like it's the same for this case.
Well...if you're thinking in using it for gaming or video editing or the like and putting high end components in there always go with a full tower because they are the biggest in the market, you can fit anything in those and still have space and good air flow...I'll always recommend a Full tower because they're future proof...
I have this case. I think it's a good review, but I think this guy always shows the strengths of the products, but never really point out the weaknesses.
But weaknesses of this case, it's super cramped. I understand the 8800 gtx is just a big card to begin with, but the placement of harddrives + the 8800 is a nightmare. Also, the harddrive spacing could be better to allow more air.

Does anyone know if this case fits modern cards fine (considering it came out a few years ago) like a GTX 460 for example?

I'm using this case + 8800 GTX and 2 HDD's.
It's (super) cramped, but at least it fits in there.
You can't stick a finger between the GTX an the HDD casing.
