The characters in this game just suck ass.

I mean, besides after you pass their own individual chapters, none of them have any development, fleshing out or even the slightest interactions with each other (I wanted to see that priest guy get it on with Alena :( ). The main character is less interesting than a cardboard box.

That being said, a game isn't really meant to have extraordinary characters or complexly written plots (none of which dragon quest iv had), it was a nice rpg that i enjoyed.

The wierd thing in this version are the name changes. I don't know what the hell were wrong with the characters original american names that they had in Dragon Warrior IV. Meena and Maya? Used to be Mara and Nara. Tourneko was once called Taloon. Ragnar's name remains the same. I wonder if they changed Healie's name too. Before anyone says something obvious and dumb like, those are the japanese names of the characters..I KNOW that. I just don't see what was wrong with DWIV's american names.

Your an awesome brother for getting him DQ IV. That Phantom Hourglass blows ass. It's the only Zelda game in history I'll say that about. I HATE being forced to control EVERYTHING with the damn stylus. Dude D.Quest IV is a WAY better choice! P.Hourglass may be the sequel to one of my favorite Zelda games, but it sure as shit DOESN'T play like Wind Waker! Now Twilight Princess or A Link to the Past for snes....Now THOSE Zelda's are where it's at!

16 years ago this kind of story telling was fresh to me. How the individual chapters gave me the impression of being in a fairytale was pure classic. It also gave me ( the hero ) a glimpse of my comrades before I realized my true role. To me, this game was a work of genius.

It's ashame, I probably want have the cash to play these remakes in quite sometime. This sucks.

This is a remake for the DS, and the original Dragon Quest IV came out one year before the original FFIV.
