An Incredible Update:

Laurie Anderson is coming over to my country, Chile, for a concert. I just received an email from the production team, telling me that she will be tomorrow at the Modern Art Museum of Santiago, AVAILABLE FOR SIGNING AUTOGRAPHS!!!!! and possibly for a picture????

This news came almost as one of her songs; I can't seem to decide if this is real or some kind of dreamlike alternate reality!!!

Anyhow, the appointment if for tomorrow at 18:30 hrs. Will let you know how it went!!

Thanx Bigcat... you know? There is a Chilean artist that I feel sort of gets close in his painting to some of the worlds Laurie creates. I even contacted him once, because I wanted him to create a painting inspired in Tight Rope... too lame he is a little steep on his prices...

There is this other Laurie Anderson performance I love... it's not really a song in itself, but rather a prelude to one... "Electric Dance". She tells the story of Nicola Tesla and his distressed relation with Edison..

Blade...it's hard to determine the costs of another's art. I don't imagine Laurie's prices are any less steep then that of the visual artist's. Probably more...and 'fleeting',(a one time performance).

Not quite the $ investment I'd select as an investor of art....

Laurie Anderson is not a singer; not a performer; not a poet. She is a builder of worlds. Imaginary worlds that she constructs with sounds, melodies, rythm... and her hypnotic, archaic words which come forth riding in that magical voice of hers.

The world she builds in this song is particularly one of my favorites; I can perfectly depict this dream/nightmarish like Theme Park in the back of my closed eyes.

A Theme Park which is really a depiction of our real world, shifted into an archetype.
