@StrongItalianGuy123 I felt the same way a few months ago after I bought it. Then I waited for awhile, watche dit again, and now I love it. IDon't worry, it'll grow on you. And remember, it's not a war movie. It's not trying to be accurate--it's like a comic book. Just abotu all of Tarantino's filmsare like graphics novels. And on the contrary, Inglourious Basterds is probably Tarantino's finest film yet. It's even more artistic than Pulp Fiction. The dialogue's much more professional.
this film was so much different than most modern films, it wasnt just entertaining, it had a whole narrative to it, and it had very interesting themes, it is a new classic. how tarantino does it is beyond me.
The mere use of this music put a whole new level of life into the opening scene. I love the huge choir and the booming orchestral music. Sounds like it's straight out of "The Ten Commandments." You just don't hear that kind of music in movies anymore.
she could have made the run if she just crawled on the ground or ran zig-zag style in a different direction other that right in front of the house so the idiot nazi can get a clean shot.
@Whirlwind1000 she was supposed to be a 17 year old girl. her family just got massacred and she is covered in their blood. i'd be LAUGHING if i started seeing her zigzagging - ruining the mood of the scene.
My thoughts exactly when I saw her running in a straight line. Too easy of a shot for Landa. Why he didn't take it is beyond me, but she was damn lucky. Of course she was a bit out of pistol range by the time he bore down on her, but that never did appear to stop the SS from trying.
Thanks for uploading. Do you know where I can get this version of the song? I downloaded the iTunes track, but it seems to be a cover of Morricone's work.
The climaxe is so good! When they start firing and then Landas like "silence" and shosanna crawls there. Just magnificent. fits the scene. This gives me shivers every time I watch that scene. The music portrays the horror so well!
probably the most complex character that tarantino has ever written. heard that leo dicaprio was meant to play the part. would have been awful!! CHRISTOPHER WALTZ RULES!
Man, the first time I saw Landa pull out his Walther when Shoshanna was already like 100 yards away, I was like "No f*ckin way...", but Christoph's amazing acting convinced me that his character could've easily done Shoshanna in.
Thank you very much for uploading this one - I've been desperately looking for the title of this theme, one of the most effective in the film. It makes the attack the singularly most disturbing scene of the film.
But I've got one question (since I love Italian cinema of the 60ies and 70ies): Which film is it actually from???
The Meeting With The Daughter (L'incontro Con La Figlia) was in the 1965 film 'Il ritorno di Ringo' (The return of Ringo) directed by Duccio Tessari. There is a two-disc set - Gun for Ringo/Return of Ringo/Death Rides a Horse - that has it, but appears OOP.
Check -- RCA Cinematre NL 33209 -- UK
or -- BMG Camden 82876511372 -- UK
Make certain it is a TWO-DISC set, since there is a one disc version without the song.
Also check -- soundtrackcollector com -- and iTunes for it.
There is also a brand new collection called 'Ennio Morricone: Quentin Tarantino Movies' (Kind of Blue Records 10036) that was recently released that includes the song.
It includes eight Morricone songs used in 'Inglourious Basterds', plus a few used in 'Kill Bill, Vol 2' & 'Grindhouse - Death Proof'.
should of known this song was the one done by ennio morricone, such a tense moment in the film as well.

@Bronzewhaler82 No the Paditte family was the dad and his three daughters. Landa Killed the Dreyfus family.

I fuckin' love the camera angle when Landa walks and watch pointing shoshana, it's creeping amazing

Shoshanna was so very sweet and innocent. I wanted to cry, too, when she burst into tears. This music just sells the scene.

Paditte's house, it's the same shape as Landa's strudel when he puts his cigarette out in it.

@Whirlwind1000, that is true! To zig zag makes one a tougher target. To fall and roll on the ground would help, too.

The beggining of the song it's like a fucking storm. It's the perfect way to translate a storm from image or reality to music.
And the scene... Masterpiece.
