  • Wet Fart guitar effect..is Amazing??..Really?...LMAO..Metheny Fanboys!.

I Know a Pat Metheny worshiper, this guy does not like or approve pop music but when Pat Metheny played on this song, he now like this song...lol what a pretentious twat! (my mate)

  • Unfrtunately this song really starts after 3:00... At the start looks like warming-up and sounds awful. After 3:00 is starting to be real and perfect jam with Pat's and Dominic's soul. Above that, I love this song.

  • wow what a guitar sound !

  • Dominic Miller AND Pat Metheny, too beautiful I could die just to go to heaven, choking my breath...

  • Love it Love it!! I can still hear singing... :))

  • great jam...... amazing guyss..

  • <3

  • It's the first time i dont' like Pat...I didn't know where is...Strange night!!!

  • M E R A V I G L I O S A ! ! !

  • Melodía para confesar amores...

  • I have to admit : I jizzed in my pants :o

  • Que buena canción!!!

    Felicitaciones.

  • ESPECTACULAR!!..

  • Didn't work for me. Dominic Co-wrote the song so of course he was strong. Im not a Methany fan, so him noodling around for 5 minutes didn't do a thing for me. Happy for those who did enjoy it though!

  • Gorgeous. Dominic wrote a haunting hook in those descending notes, and Metheny plays a lovely lyrical exploration of the theme. I think his searing tone on some of the solos sounds like an electric clarinet - whatever that would be!

  • les quedó bastante bien el batero muy bueno

  • Not bad for a jam but I might have hoped for better from these 2 greats

  • I was at his concert last may, it was soo cool, I liked even this song, although his own songs are much better.

  • beautiful!

  • STUPENDO.....

  • Awesome thankyou :))

  • Much too shy...

  • this is great, no lyrics but the music tells you the whole story! incredible

  • eargasm!!!!

  • Does anyone have Dominic's CD November?? I'll can't get it in my country

  • Metheny gets better when he changes guitar

  • Domenico!!! maestro! quiero comer una porción con moscato y fainá con Ud. en La Boca, que se cuente alguna historia con "los grandes músicos que solo con Usted tocaron" sacarme una foto y recordar ese momento toda la vida.

  • pat is not so good on this

  • true... :-)

  • @redskin133 It's sad, but I agree with you!

  • who is really author of this song?????

  • Dominic Miller an Sting

  • OMG!!!! Pat Metheny!

  • Spectacular! Wonderful upload. 10+ stars!

  • wow, dominic miller, pino palladno (Basse) and pat metheny!!!!!! BEAUTIFUL

  • when he picks up the guitar for the second time things start rocking. The tune gets tedious though playing it over and over again with no singing.

  • how does metheny get that trumpet tone!?! incredible

  • He uses an old analog Roland guitar synthesizer for this sound.

  • he was awesome, im glad i met him xD he was amazing i played his guitar xD!!!!

  • cant anyone hear that pat never stops playing from 4:26 to 5:39 he just plays a bit different after the solo and just accents dominics playing

and furthermor there is nothing strange about his playing

  • i dont understand why people speaking about pats second guitar.music is great!thats all.

  • grandes de la guitarra , master pat metheny , master del univrse , great job , beatiful and sublime, thank you

  • oh G. amazing!

  • love this version... pretty jazzy :)

  • Very, very beutiful and genius play!!!

    Nice!!!

  • Pat never sucks

  • Why is that? Where did he go wrong?

  • pats 2nd guitar...man thats one weird sounding shit..!!! almost keyboard like..?

  • its a gitar synthesiser, i dont like it too

  • he uses it, because the sound is similar to trumpet, which he was playing like 8 years old.

  • HEY! lets meet up! MSG me on M.S.N.

    umm LOL wierddddddDdd QL

  • For some reason this melody strikes me as one that was woven around stings voice. It really doesn't stand on its own as an instrumental! It's almost like the repetition of the beautiful melody calls for a story and Sting delivers just that. On the other hand Pat and Dom pppppppppf****ing hell. two great guitarists that wloud make almost anything work.

  • pat has not heart this song before it seems :)

  • Yes you're right, he really didn't seem that comfortable with it. I do it as an instrumental and it can be pretty tricky....it's not pentatonic and that looses most electric players ;-)

  • quite an amazing comment.

  • It's because Dominic's voicings (and chord progressions) really are quite complex, on a harmonic level. Any improviser on any instrument, would need at least 2-3 hours, just to figure out what passing tones work and don't work. Then they'd need another hour or so, to get comfortable connecting those passing tones up to their particular playing style (legato, bluesy, etc.). Dominic's voicing are every bit as complex as Holdsworth's, Eric Johnson's or Steve Morse's. They just sound "simple" :-)

  • No offense to you, but the song is a simple blues with chord progressions in G#minor that tranistions to C#minor at 3:02 to make things interesting and set the stage for Pat's sythesized guitar. Pat and another 500,000 "wannabe" guitarist out in the world , me one among them, could improvise a solo around the melody until our fingers bled without a minute of preparation. Of course Pat has the chops to make his awesome synthized tone flow and sound outworldly just by his pure excellence.

  • I agree that Pat is interpretting it as a "blues" (i.e. a Clapton-like) tune, but you can clearly see that something is going on because he stops playing audibly, from 4:26 until 5:39. Maybe he didn't want to upstage Dominic. Maybe Dominic only wanted him to play where he played. That said, I'm sure we've all witnessed a virtuoso player "being a bit uncomfortable" when playing music that is less about virtuosity, and more about "feel" :-)

  • Not sure who you are talking about being uncomfortable.. but maybe Pat was audible in person... this is YouTube.... the sound quality sucks.

Besides.... if that's the sort of lesson you want to show you kid, you're rather sad.

  • Are you serious?!?!!!!!!!..........Dominics voicing Complex as Holdworths!!!! His name shouldn't even be mentioned in the same conversation as Holdworths or Metheny.....And this is not even close to blues!!!...Its a VII VI V I progression......And im pretty sure Metheny had no prob. playing to this.

  • Sorry, i was just trying to show my son how defensive guitar players on Youtube can be, about their guitar heroes/gods :-) It worked splendidly...thanks.

  • God? ....not even close

  • OMG awesome ! I love this song !

  • 失敗だな。。。

  • dominic miller's the composer of this song how can he suck?

  • wow...pat metheny with dominic miller, simply amazing!!!!!!

  • niesamowite!!!

    brak mi słów z zachwytu...

  • metheny :)

  • pat wasnt inspired,

  • Perfect

  • luv dominic

  • this song is hard to play live..if something goes wrong..everything else will..

  • i'm learning this song... you scary me!

  • Fuck Santana

  • very very very good

    this guy is amazing

  • Amazing!!

  • It's just amazing!!!

  • just speechless...

  • Synclaviar .............

  • wow, blows strong!

  • I love how Pat gets his guitar to sound like a horn.

  • He uses a Roland GR-300 Guitar Synth. to get the sound...you should check out his solo on "The Truth Will Always Be"

  • Seeing and hearing Metheny with Miller is a real treat, the two of them are skilled at their craft. Although no one plays the guitar synth like Pat, he makes true love to the instrument, and the sound it produces is ectasy to the ear. Thank you.

  • This is really a very nice version of a great song, well done Dominic!

  • @Dachero its not really a version since he was the person who originaly made the song and Sting sang over it...
