  • Irony; the video response getting blocked for copyright - for a song that flaunts copyright?

  • Man this is so cool. It's nice to hear the song come together from bits and pieces.

  • lmao the helmet had me laughing for minutes...had to restart video and try not to laugh this time

  • i hope they payed money to edwin birdsong or at least hommage

because this song is just straight up stolen. Darft punk sucks donkey balls!

dont call it sampling if your just gonna take the whole fucking song and just

make it a bit faster. fucktards

  • @crobbar Dude,

    A) Daft Punk did pay royalties and credited Edwin.

    B) It's not "the whole fucking song", dipshit. It's a few parts of the song edited and stuff

    C) If you don't like them, GTFO you didn't need to comment here on a video with their music in it.

    D) It's not stolen, it's sampling.

  • that was awesome. That is hard to do. Great job.....I give it a 11 not perfect 10

  • daft punk is total shit !

  • @litlekarim33 you gotta be kidding me.

  • Daft Phake xD

  • he messed up in the intro

  • @briansredd I've discovered that there are actually four of those stabs used to transition out of the intro. They progress as F#, E, D, C#. Daft Punk used three of these (the third one isn't used in HBFS as it has another guitar note playing underneath it). You got the second and fourth hits, but the first one is played second in HBFS as the highest-pitched stab. (The sequence in HBFS is E, C#, F#, E)

tl;dr: I feel the need to say "i found a better way" in an exceptionally verbose manner

  • you're really good at this. nice job

  • Realtek HD Audio Manager can help u spot the samples sometimes by slowing down or speeding up the pitch

  • few flaws but other than that great job

  • I love your deck and your whole set up

  • awsome helmet dude!! lol

  • you fail on the helmet at the beginning

  • @LuigiMario98981 he said it was a crap helmet you dumbfuck

  • hi

what's name of the programe you use?

  • @GGCCCC55 yeah what program is that?

  • hi dj tutorial u are expert in this area of dj music.i like ur videos in special of 10 min of daft punk music samples.i have the old song (the sample)

    used in the video.harder ,faster,stronger

u can tell me ,the time of the song of the second sample at the intro. i have the sony sound forge 6.

u remake of this song is great..i like it.

  • hows CD scratching??

idk if im getting a Vinyl one or a CD one..

  • you've mastered how to chop a song up, now go do it yourself and get number 1 multi platinum selling albums

  • why have cd players that look so freakin expensive and fancy? BECAUSE THEY LOOK FREAKIN' AWESOME, THAT'S WHY!!! 5*! :D

  • um thats a little more than just a cd play buddy.

  • lol i know. it's a turntable and all that other stuff too. it still looks freakin' awesome though...

  • man, you're a beast!

  • If you were teaching a class about this sampling thing, please let me be your student !!

  • Yeah guy. You could seriously teach a college course as part of a Studio Composition major. Sampling IS trickier than it seems

  • Pffft.

  • Really interestihg, thanks. You're good ^_^

  • Whoa! What are your DJ tables called PLZ! I know theyre by Pioneer and I WISH I HAD THEM!

  • Pioneer CDJ 400's

  • what is the program use ?

  • mixmeister pro 6

  • Fantastic! Great job! Really amazing how you can just hear all that and pick it out

  • thank's you !!!

  • Well spotted the intro part!! :D

  • U R FREKIN AWSUM

    DAFT PUNK #3

  • holy shit.. this guy is awesome

  • I WANT your DJ table! I've been looking at a couple of CD Pioneer tables, but unfortunately they're way out of my price range..

The rotating LED look is especially slick.

  • omg i love daft punk but they are thief???

do they paid to these people?

  • no. not stealing...

    it's called "boot legging" =P.

a good boot leg is Toca's Miracle, which was originally Toca Me (Fragma) and I Need a Miracle

  • they sample, not steal, they paid Edwin birdsong and credited him for the samples

  • Comment removed

  • wow that was very good man well done good ears by the way

  • Wow. Daft Punk are sample kings. They went through all that to make that.

  • This is sarcasm right?

  • Ha...

  • very good!

  • so good..but u no..know 1 know's how to do it as good as daft punk do it ...ahah

  • at least no one reminds to sample the bands they sample until they actually do...

  • FUCK!!! you have some skills dude, do u have any songs of your own?? I would really like to hear that !

    anyway, GREAT JOB!

  • The point of this is kinda to show you that there isn't much technical skill to it at all. Chopping samples to create a new composition is a talent though and he re-created it well.

  • Awesome

  • que programa estas usando?

    what program is it?

  • GOOD JOB! Thanks

  • can i request daft punks "da funk"?

  • i was so surprised to learn that Da Funk's beat was a sample of another song. but it doesn't make me love Daft Punk any less.

  • Hey brian! thanks for this video i will be making a HBFS remake, to follow my one more time remake. again thanks for the video and have a good xmas and new year

  • i play in a deth metal band where i play bass, and i can play the intro and me and the drummer play it befor we start are set, its hit and miss if the croud gets it.

  • I liked it before the key agustments. Sounded sweet.

  • You that one part that repeats like 4 times has multiple key differences, not just one.

  • hey, i know the singing part of "Superheros" is sampled from that barry manilow song, but does "superheros" sample anything else?

  • no. and its spelled "SuperHeroes"

  • I'm sure I could do this on Ableton (and may have a go at making a video of a Daft Punk Sample Chop now to find out) but it wouldn't look anywhere near as impressive (and I'd likely slightly miss the key after warping it "complex" to drag the beat up). Top class series of videos.

  • anyone know how i can get this into garage band?

  • Someone needs to make a new song from kanye west's song "Stronger" because it samples "harder better faster stronger" which samples "cola bottle baby"

  • yes. i'll do it and let you know how it turns out. XD

  • Actually he did that with Daft Punk and has them in his music video doing it.

  • Pretty goddamn close.

I bet you have fun figuring out all of this. Musical puzzles.

  • you are a great dj keep it up man!

  • awesome stuff! love it!

  • You need to get Cubebase or Fruity Loops Studio 6 to make advance sounds but it sound good! You have a good ear.

  • Theres a good program to use is easy and has more features I have the full version if you want...It's called Mixcraft 3...and this is a wicked remake...good job

  • How much did your equipment cost?

I mean the turntables and the mixer.

  • They're CD players, only they are suitable for djing. They're called CDJ-400s by Pioneer. They're $600 each. I'm not sure what model mixer he's using, but expect to pay $200-$500 for a mixer.

  • The mixer is a Pioneer DJM-600 which costs $700.

  • Close enough man lol Good Job.

See...now all yall can stop bashing on Kanye. He did a bit more to the song than Daft Punk did.

  • I doubt Kanye did much exept have a producer hook up something cool for him. I don't hate Kanye, I'm just getting a little sick of people talking, often mumbling over beats. Most of them don't really have much to say anymore. It just gets a little old after 30 years. HA!

  • Yeah at least daft punk know how to polish the sound of old samples and integrating it in their distorted house sound; instead of being a 100% poser and talk shit over a song with a sample ripped and arranged by someone else other than the artist.

  • @briansredd

Dude Kanye is one of the hardest working producers in the industry. Step outside of your biases and preconceptions before you go commenting on things you obviously don't know about. What uninformed people upvoted you? Fucking youtube users.

  • @briansredd AMEN :)

  • @DjEmpyre O yeah, Kanye did way more to the song then Daft Punk did. You see I forgot that it was Kanye who edited the tracks, collaborated the beats, sliced the record to a phenomenal status, I forgot that Daft Punk's Discovery Album was actually called Discovery, and Kanye West. -_-; You're such a fucking loser, go comment on some bling bling, ass shaking, nappy headed hoe, child molesting, nigger videos. Don't bring that blasphemy in here! If anything, Daft Punk gave Kanye status, you FREAK!

  • @DjEmpyre umm dude, Kanye had Daft Punk on his song O.O' it was a collab of sort

  • OMG!!!!!!!!4:10

  • It was very popular in holland when One more time was new. but it isnt anymore . it's a shame.

  • Awesome!!!

I've never seen that done before, so it's good to know the tools are out there (and that it doesn't necessarily require an insanely expensive setup). It makes me want to start making beats of my own...

Thanks for posting these great vids!

  • Americans... >_>

It's pronounced Da(r)ft Punk not Daft Punk.

  • Australians...>_>

You have strange accents. Nobody else says things like you do. We don't put R sounds on the end of words like NO either.

  • Actually thanks to Europe we hardly have any pure ozzies anymore and the Wog accent is our new "major" accent. >_>

Second it also applies to almost every other country, americans just pronounce the A's in words to clearly.

  • Pure Ozzies? Yeah, not too many Aborigines around anymore....

  • Well not Pure ozzies but atleast people who had great grand parents who were born here.

  • You say Da(r)ft Punk in Denmark.. >_>

  • I Live in New Zealand, (NO ONE KNOWS DAFT PUNK HERE, LOL!) and I pronounce it as Daft not Da r ft punk...

  • DaRft sounds like how a pirate may pronouce it. Arrrr care to hear some DaRft Punk before you walk the plank?

  • Haha :P

  • lol

  • Not.

  • lovin' da helmet.

  • i already knew where they got this sample. its really cool

  • i know the one they used for aerodynamic

Sister Sledge - "Il Macquillage Lady"

  • What program are you using there?

  • add an extra loop at 5.03 then do that again next time around.

  • I can see you have spent alot of time on this, i do remixes myself and I know it takes ages. But the intro is not right and doesnt work from 4.56 and around5.04 you dont repeat the second section enough. It needs one more loop on the end before the main beat kicks, try it then you will know what i mean

  • very good!

  • you are too good!

  • I have a two teeny corrections to that chop job, and I discovered these while fooling around with mixmeister. On the intro, there's no need to bump up the BPM, all you need to do is the key adjustment. Also, on the synthesizer notes in the intro, bump up the key adjustments on the first pair, and bring down the key adjustments on the second pair. Now I don't remember the exact adjustments for the keys, but if you do as stated above you have my guarantee that it'll sound JUST like the song.

  • WTF your teeth seem to glow in the end of the vid^^

  • I tip my hat to you sir. Great job. It's awesome.

  • I actually reconstructed that bit at the beginning myself a few years ago... Nero Wave Editor is a pretty awesome audio cut + paste tool.

  • I did the same thing with Nero Wave Editor. I redone all the songs he had done also.

  • that was awesome!!!

    --flipboitamidles

  • brian try indo silver club the sample used can't remember but i'll get back to ya with it.

  • That was actually a great helmet.

Were those things on the side cans?

  • Yeah Diet Rite cans I think

  • Technically all you need to do it up the original song but +3 semitones. You got your song. Well... You might need to add the robot sound effects.

  • +3 simitones would make the key WAY too high. Keep in mind the BPM only went up about 8 BPM. There would be a lot more involved than adding robot voices to recreate this entire song

  • Well, I use a product called Audacity and when I upped it 3 semitones, it sounded like the product... But your correct as well.

  • did you go up +3 semitones or did you bend the pitch +3%?

  • Yeah. Well... I said semitones... What i meant was the "Keep-on-placing-the-pitch-up-three-points-and-see-if-I-got-correct" kind way. But... It's Audacity for crying out loud! LOL Anyway, I think you did good

  • You're doing a pitch bend. +3% will probably get you very close to what I had in the video. Semitones are actual key adjustments. What you did was a speed adjustment with no key correction

  • Oh... Um... Okay... I'm not that great of a musician so I don't really know all of the key assets. Thanks for the tip! :)

  • That's cool, but from now on you probably shouldn't be going around telling people what's what especially if you are clueless about how things really work :)

  • Okay. Sorry about that...

  • Hey, bro, Great job as always. I've got a couple of questions for you. 1: How and where do I get Mixmeister pro6? and 2: If it costs money, how much is it?

  • It's no longer available for purchase from Mixmeister. They have moved on to Fusion which isn't nearly as much fun for this type of work

  • hey, so a midi keyboard can play things at different pitches and stuff? because im looking for something like that, that can change the pitch AND play samples

  • Yes, you basically play the sample as any other sound. I use to mess with this technology a bit, but got away from it 5 or so years ago. Very soon, I will be taking a crash course on how to use some newer software packages

  • are the vocal parts to harder better faster stronger recorded BY daft punk? or are those samples also?

  • Yeah the vocals are recorded by them or someone they brought in. Can't remember if it's them or Romanthony

  • alright thanks for the info. i'll try looking it up.

  • I think all the "vocoder" robot sounding vocals are original

  • youve pretty much got the same skills daft punk has- im jealous! haha excellent stuff, you should open up a real Dj acadamy, how sick would that be! your a great teacher...any chance youve figured out high life yet? or the sample in the second part of too long? your tha man.

  • The same skills? HA! I WISH! The only thing I have done here is break-down the samples. The hard part is discovering cool music to sample and how to do it.

  • Man you are insanely awesome ''i hope it sounded ok'' man it sounded freaking awesome

  • Hey Guy! So far, 1,922 viewers find it intiresting HOW it was done. We already understand what is done, but thank you for sharing.

  • Np :D

  • its the same as any other music, except for the fact that you use other peoples music as your instruments. its the creativity that matters

  • So they do not make there own sounds ?

  • Sometimes they do. This is the type of artists they are and yes, this IS an art!

  • Nice helmet brian. Good job on breaking it down and all the different samples. You should start making your own music brian. Keep up the good work.

  • Brian, you've outdone yourself with this chop job, easily your best so far

  • Wow, nice cut. I knew Eddie did the main loop but I couldn't figure out intro or the 2nd part of the song.

  • holy smoke :D you rock ^^

  • I love that you always start these out my mentioning how great Discovery is. I must say, I concur. I think it's their best album to date.

  • Great stuff, Brian. If you do another, could you do the Chaka Khan track? That one isn't on the collection I have (from palmsout Sample Wednesday) and I'm curious to hear it. :)

    -Conor

  • ive done the track your on about its 'fate' and stardust 'music sounds better with you'

  • nice job Brian...

    -Mike-

  • i tought i was hearing some samplers from M's "popmusic" in the song of Daft Punk... ??

  • hmm not in this song that I know of

  • you should get fl studio. you can do a way lot more. like add your own drums if you want. you can also play the chops with your computer keyboard.or with a midi keyboard. you should post a video out their just having producers show us how they make beats. its a natural progression for djs to move towards beat. production. i got a trivia question for you. which famous hip hop producer used to go by the name dj timmy tim?

  • Are you talking about Timberland?

About producers and production programs: This is something that I use to do with Cubase. Ableton is what I think I'll be learning as soon as I have the money to purchase it. Also, we'll see what we can do in the future about getting some producers involved.

  • yep timbaland

  • bri ur a bad ass i couldnt hear parts of the intro at all but u did. thats why your our dj tutor. ur awesome. ur super dope!

    RESPECT.

  • :D You´re great. You should take that cheap daft punk helmet to your next gig

  • once again, good vid

i thought alot of daft punk was original. did they do alot of sampling?

  • Yeah, quite a bit, but they are VERY good at it. As I reconstruct these songs, it gets me thinking about how much thought goes into creating an original chop job. LOTS!

  • yes they are good at the samples, maybe that could be why i thought it was original. all your daft punk vids are great by the way, i need to add more daft punk to my collection.

  • I REMEMBER ASKING YOU DIS QUESTION

  • @RockTheHouse4 YES THEY DO !!

  • Awesome Vid!

  • that was FRIGGIN amazing bri !!!

  • Another awesome chop job.

  • awesome stuff!

  • Loving the helmet dude:)

  • what a nice set up of monitors!
