@briansredd I've discovered that there are actually four of those stabs used to transition out of the intro. They progress as F#, E, D, C#. Daft Punk used three of these (the third one isn't used in HBFS as it has another guitar note playing underneath it). You got the second and fourth hits, but the first one is played second in HBFS as the highest-pitched stab. (The sequence in HBFS is E, C#, F#, E)
tl;dr: I feel the need to say "i found a better way" in an exceptionally verbose manner
The point of this is kinda to show you that there isn't much technical skill to it at all. Chopping samples to create a new composition is a talent though and he re-created it well.
Hey brian! thanks for this video i will be making a HBFS remake, to follow my one more time remake. again thanks for the video and have a good xmas and new year
i play in a deth metal band where i play bass, and i can play the intro and me and the drummer play it befor we start are set, its hit and miss if the croud gets it.
I'm sure I could do this on Ableton (and may have a go at making a video of a Daft Punk Sample Chop now to find out) but it wouldn't look anywhere near as impressive (and I'd likely slightly miss the key after warping it "complex" to drag the beat up). Top class series of videos.
Someone needs to make a new song from kanye west's song "Stronger" because it samples "harder better faster stronger" which samples "cola bottle baby"
Theres a good program to use is easy and has more features I have the full version if you want...It's called Mixcraft 3...and this is a wicked remake...good job
They're CD players, only they are suitable for djing. They're called CDJ-400s by Pioneer. They're $600 each. I'm not sure what model mixer he's using, but expect to pay $200-$500 for a mixer.
I doubt Kanye did much exept have a producer hook up something cool for him. I don't hate Kanye, I'm just getting a little sick of people talking, often mumbling over beats. Most of them don't really have much to say anymore. It just gets a little old after 30 years. HA!
Yeah at least daft punk know how to polish the sound of old samples and integrating it in their distorted house sound; instead of being a 100% poser and talk shit over a song with a sample ripped and arranged by someone else other than the artist.
Dude Kanye is one of the hardest working producers in the industry. Step outside of your biases and preconceptions before you go commenting on things you obviously don't know about. What uninformed people upvoted you? Fucking youtube users.
@DjEmpyre O yeah, Kanye did way more to the song then Daft Punk did. You see I forgot that it was Kanye who edited the tracks, collaborated the beats, sliced the record to a phenomenal status, I forgot that Daft Punk's Discovery Album was actually called Discovery, and Kanye West. -_-; You're such a fucking loser, go comment on some bling bling, ass shaking, nappy headed hoe, child molesting, nigger videos. Don't bring that blasphemy in here! If anything, Daft Punk gave Kanye status, you FREAK!
I've never seen that done before, so it's good to know the tools are out there (and that it doesn't necessarily require an insanely expensive setup). It makes me want to start making beats of my own...
I can see you have spent alot of time on this, i do remixes myself and I know it takes ages. But the intro is not right and doesnt work from 4.56 and around5.04 you dont repeat the second section enough. It needs one more loop on the end before the main beat kicks, try it then you will know what i mean
I have a two teeny corrections to that chop job, and I discovered these while fooling around with mixmeister. On the intro, there's no need to bump up the BPM, all you need to do is the key adjustment. Also, on the synthesizer notes in the intro, bump up the key adjustments on the first pair, and bring down the key adjustments on the second pair. Now I don't remember the exact adjustments for the keys, but if you do as stated above you have my guarantee that it'll sound JUST like the song.
+3 simitones would make the key WAY too high. Keep in mind the BPM only went up about 8 BPM. There would be a lot more involved than adding robot voices to recreate this entire song
Yeah. Well... I said semitones... What i meant was the "Keep-on-placing-the-pitch-up-three-points-and-see-if-I-got-correct" kind way. But... It's Audacity for crying out loud! LOL Anyway, I think you did good
You're doing a pitch bend. +3% will probably get you very close to what I had in the video. Semitones are actual key adjustments. What you did was a speed adjustment with no key correction
That's cool, but from now on you probably shouldn't be going around telling people what's what especially if you are clueless about how things really work :)
Hey, bro, Great job as always. I've got a couple of questions for you. 1: How and where do I get Mixmeister pro6? and 2: If it costs money, how much is it?
hey, so a midi keyboard can play things at different pitches and stuff? because im looking for something like that, that can change the pitch AND play samples
Yes, you basically play the sample as any other sound. I use to mess with this technology a bit, but got away from it 5 or so years ago. Very soon, I will be taking a crash course on how to use some newer software packages
youve pretty much got the same skills daft punk has- im jealous! haha excellent stuff, you should open up a real Dj acadamy, how sick would that be! your a great teacher...any chance youve figured out high life yet? or the sample in the second part of too long? your tha man.

Yeah, quite a bit, but they are VERY good at it. As I reconstruct these songs, it gets me thinking about how much thought goes into creating an original chop job. LOTS!
yes they are good at the samples, maybe that could be why i thought it was original. all your daft punk vids are great by the way, i need to add more daft punk to my collection.

B) It's not "the whole fucking song", dipshit. It's a few parts of the song edited and stuff
C) If you don't like them, GTFO you didn't need to comment here on a video with their music in it.
D) It's not stolen, it's sampling.
