I agree with others regarding the album artwork. Looks pretty good but as far as I know it doesn't really resemble anything from the album. Maybe something to do with post-modern colour art? If anyone knows what the design is or how it officially relates to the album please correct me ;) Love the music on the album though nevertheless! :)
I'm away to see the boys in GLASGOW ROYAL HALL tonight it should be a real blast, i saw them at christmas in Aberdeen as back up band to SIMPLE MINDS and they stole the show from them. looking forward too this and will be listening out for this track. it's my favourite from the new album.
It was probably a rumour, that Andy McCluskey after releasing The Crush said: The OMD have no such technical support as Depeche Mode or J.M. Jarre do. Our equipment isn't comparable, so we cannot develop our music anymore.
Their succesive projects were related rather to dance music than the new romantic synthpop (personally I like Milky Way, though)
Now they are back in a very good style, but the only problem is that the music trends have changed through the 25 years. Will they be accepted?
@GanEdenAustralia Hi there ,this track will appear on their new album history of modern & will be released on the 28th september in australia & thanks for checking out my channel.
Well, what can i say? I would have liked if the boys dared to make Organisation Pt 2 and not Sugar Tax Pt 2. But there you are,it`s pop not punk these days:-(
I was really looking forward to a new OMD album, especially with Paul Humphreys back on board, but from what I've heard so far I think I'll give it a miss. This track could of come off of Sugar Tax. It's almost like something Stock Aitken and Waterman would of tossed off back in the eighties. I think OMD peaked artistically with "Dazzle Ships" and after that lost their way. Just compare this bilge with tracks like "Navigation".... I rest my case but just hope I'm wrong.
You seriously need your hearing tested if you think this sounds anything like any of the cheap, plastic crap that S.A.W. used to churn out. From what i've heard from the new album so far it going to be one their best.
@Jarv1s Fair comment. If this is what floats your boat...OK. But, from only what I've heard so far, I just can't see anything creative or original here. I know the guys aren't exactly spring chickens anymore and there has to be a financial cause – McCluskey's Pop Svengali entrepreneur status is never too far out of the limelight. To me this sounds like something off of one of those dreadful albums that came after Sugar Tax. There's nothing new here. It's just about making the Radio 2 playlist.
I am not going to pass full judgment till i've heard the full album. But what i've heard so far, i like. Especially New Babies:New Toys, that song is pure class. I dont think it sounds like anything from Liberator or Universal. Liberator is probably one of their weaker albums and this is far better that anything that was on Liberator. Always liked Sugar Tax, no problems with that album.
Everything about OMD's new album is as exciting as it is quite calculating - all electronic, original line up, Peter Saville and all that "architecture" and "morality". Things seem to fall into place but the group's motifs are all too obvious - this is simply a long awaited flashback, a "frozen album", fans wanted so much. I adore OMD for their first five albums and "History of Modern" does sound like it should have been a follow up to "Junk Culture" instead of everything afterwards...
It is great that they have reassembled for a new album. Saw them once in the middle 80's, Hamilton, New Zealand, Founders Theatre. Met them, autographs, and photos. Great gig and great memories. Hope they are able to make it back, we would love to see them again.

@djbethell Well, I bet 'Playboy Pete' just isn't sleeping at night knowing you are so disappointed in his work ... if only we could preserve those we favour in formaldehyde, or better still ... if only they lived up to our overarching expectations ... When you think about it, Yohji Yamamoto, Christian Dior, Stella McCartney and Givenchy must be utterly gutted that they ever bothered with this wannabee ...
Not really sure Pete knows has ever turned on a computer (!). Personall I like it
@djbethell Your god might forbid things, so it is a good thing mine is rather more tolerant, indulgent and mischievous. As for your brain cell frenzy ... good for you ... well done: hope mummy gives you a lovely juicy Prozac for that articulate, well balanced retort. Don't forget baby, it's about the people behind the music not us ... were just fools not gods
@HistoryOfModern1 That is so great. I didn't know that they started back singing. If all of these 80's singers would start back we could really feel like the wonderful 80's again.
