I have tattoos and know from experience that there is pain, bearable pain but pain nonetheless...and that is on the usual areas for tattoos, upper arms etc...the face is a much more sensitive area and she would know if multiple needles were piercing her skin over a pro-longed period of time (and it's not like a tattoo is over with in nanoseconds, is it?).
