  • Tomorrow will be Five Years, its so hard to believe..

  • which miner made it out alive?

  • Very nicely done tribute. What a horrible day.

  • This video truly touches my heart. May God rest their souls. My Uncle Jim and cousin Marty were killed in this accident. Two very hard working men whom I admire greatly. My Uncle was one of the smartest men I know!

  • @Irishtransman

I'm so sorry for your lost, of hard working men. I pray for WV coal miners everyday. My son is 24 and is a coal miner. He descends 1000 ft or more into the ground, and it worries me to death. Pray that I get to spend Thanksgiving with him. I am trying to find a way to get to him from Lexington Ky to Morgantown, WV

God Bless you this Holiday, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

  • @danielwvu...hey i live in morgantown n would b more than happy to kick ur fuckin ass u mouthy fuckin prick!!!!!

  • This Video Is A Tribute To Grieving Families Every Where All Over The World

I'm Praying For All Of You "Let Jesus Fix Your Heart" I Know It's Broken And Heavy Burdened! He Can Fix It!!! Trust In Him!!! To Get A Copy Of This Song For Your Continued Listening Go To i-tunes Under "Songs Of Hope And Remembrance" In The Video Is A Tribute To The Coal Miners Families

  • Coal miners are heroes like soldiers, police and firemen, I always wanted to work in a mine...God bless them all!!!

  • ~ ... there is no jesus...and who cares about stupid hillbilly uneducated miners anyways??? .... lets go smoke by TNT and expect nothing to happen duhhhhh

  • @danielwvu ok you do not believe in god .. so be it you are entitled to your own opinion this happens to be the wrong place to post it .. let people grieve and pay tribute to some of the great men that die doing what they do to get by or because they love it .. please just let people deal with it in thier own way .. sometimes things are better left unsaid .. in this case your opinion .. go somewhere more appropriate to discuss your point of view

    God bless

  • @danielwvu someone needs to stick you by some tnt next to to get rid of some trash in wv im a wv coal miner and ill gaurantee im alot smarter than you you have a little bit more respect for guys like us that keep your lights on every day b/c you wouldnt be able to do what we do

  • @danielwvu You talk a lot about how uneducated people are, but you list your occupation as 'student', so obviously your education is incomplete. You might want to try and squeeze in a course on English grammar you smartass. I'd also like to know where you have obtained all your 'FACTS' on coal mining seeing as you come from Washington State. Yes, there are entry-level positions as with most EVERY business. There are also MANY positions in coal mining that require skilled people with degrees.

  • Beautiful tribute. Thank you.

  • and I pray tonight for the Montcoal miners ....

hoping Jesus is holding their hands tonight...and their familes

  • Great song

  • johnbactun, I know the meaning of the song, man. I am a miner, and i knew some of these guys. I was just defending my lost friend and all the other miners lost in this world.

  • whats the name of the first song on this, and who by? & my father, and brother are coalminers. my heart goes out to their family.

  • The song is amazing. their story in a song. I remember staying so late on the 3rd waiting to hear more on the 'good news' only to wake up on the 4th devastated. I still think of these families and these miners. I hope the young man who survived is doing well today.

  • You sir, are an ignorant sobFACT, and I hope that you have a Happy f''n New Year. Let me know how that rain is doing for ya! Go to Utah, and talk your line there at Crandall Canyon, I bet you dont make it five feet before getting taken down.FACT

  • I don't judge anyone, nor should you. I feel everyone has a right to their beliefs, but don't you dare come to a video like this, where people are still mourning for their lost loved ones, and preach your atheistic, communist beliefs.

Believe me, son; your judgement is awaiting you, and I dare you to try and tell this to a coal miner;s face, any coal miner's face, and watch the results! Come back to WVU and spout off around the mining engineering department with your bull!

  • @minermedic I would just like to say to you all your missing the true point of the song with your squabbles and fights. 12 men died that day and you sons-of-bitches (Excluding minermedic and a few others) are disrespecting thier memorys. Shut up.

  • You, coming in here and saying this stuff, makes you no better than the radical Baptist church that goes to our dead soldiers funerals, and protests, and celebrates their deaths! You call yourself a good American, I call you the capitolist, communist bastard that you are! So go run home to your trust fund, in rainy Seattle' while I do an honest day's work to provide for my family, the way God intended we do!

  • So you dont think you could do my job, eh? I noticed you didn't say much about that. And yes i DO believe in Jesus. Pay attention to the world around you, son. There;s a lot that went on at Sago that you, I or noone will ever know. You ever had carbon monoxide poisoning? There is a period of time where you are disoriented before you go out. Who knows what happened to these brave souls. This song was meant to help the families of the lost miners cope with their loss!

  • @danielwvu Shame on you! Grow up and take your blinders off. There is a whole world out there that you have obviously missed. Shame! Shame! Shame!

  • Oh yeah, in my stupid, unskilled, meaningless job, i cleared 6 figures this year, how about yourself? Thats directed at the guy who said coal miners are too broke to afford an education

  • Lastly, I grew up in the same area where Sago is located, and though it is a simple, rural area, the people who live there are generally well educated. I have seen many a college graduate come into the mine on an internship, and not be able to perform, as a foreman. Trust me, there's booksmart, and streetsmart, i am both as are most miners. You, my friend are just booksmart, and i seriously regret even giving you that much credit. Have a nice day, and be thankful for your electricity, ass.

  • And another thing, what gives you the right to post this on a video that is a tribute to brave men that do what they do to provide you with electricity? Did you know that 80 percent of our nation's power is produced from coal? What could you do without us?

  • danielWVU, you seriously need to do some research into this field. I am an electrician/ mechanic in the worlds top producng coal mine. In order to do what i do, I must hve a good knowledge of hydraulic systems, welding, cutting torches, mathematical formulas, properties of electricity, and print reading, Tell me, could you do my job?

  • God bless Jesse and all the others who lost their lives that day. You will never be forgotten!

  • I also want to say that I am a college graduate. My husband is a coal miner and when he was studying for his electrician's test, I'm not sure I could've passed it as it was very tough. These men do what they do to give their families a good life and because they like where they live. There are not many jobs in wv that pay well..college education or not. They choose to do work that not everyone could do. Their working in the mines keeps our nation from being so dependent on foreign resources!

  • Hows that jesus workin out for ya huh...you call me uneducated yet you believe in myths and fairytales!FACT

You probably believe in santa, easter bunny, and the tooth fairy too!!

  • If jesus was there why did they all die a painful death? FACT

If coal minesr were not an uneducated, unskilled, labor job....maybe they would have known they could possibly die!

Point is get into the 21st century and get an education!FACT

  • They didnt die a painful death, they didnt feel anything carbon monoxide took their lives they just went do sleep FACT

Most miners dont have enough income to go get an education so they have to go underground to make a living for thier family FACT

Point is get your FACTS Straight!!

  • @hunterguy

What a waste of a comment! FACT

Im sorry were you there in Sago?NO! FACT

The shear magnitude of the emotional and mental anguish is enough for me to determine that this was a painful death!FACT

How painful it must have been thinking of their family, children, and friends before death! That is painful! FACT

Physical pain isnt the only way death can be painful! FACT

Just like the hijacked passengers on 911! FACT

  • @danielwvu Shut your god-be-damned mouth!FACT!

  • @danielwvu This guy is obviously disturbed. If you go to his account you can clearly see he is INFATUATED with putting down west virginia and west virginian's. Sadly, peope like him end up being murdered.

I hope you change my friend. Because the negativity your putting out is going to come back at you 100% harder.

  • @danielwvu These men went out and worked for a living and all you can do is sit behind a keyboard and type hate towards them. YOUR A COWARD FACT!!!!

  • Well, I think you are an ignorant person to believe that these men were uneducated and unskilled workers. They knew the risks of working in the mines. I knew several of these men and they were all good men. Coal miners are some of the hardest working people in this world. Only an ignorant, uneducated person would post a comment like you posted. I believe Jesus was there with these men and kept them calm and they passed peacefully. Coal keeps the lights on, and obviously your computer.

  • to ddkbackman

You obviously know nothing...This is an unskilled, uneducated labor job...FACT

you said nothing to refute my factual claims...Just google it ..Fact

Go take a economics 101 course in collegs and you would find out I am 100% right!FACT

    You obviously have now education!FACT

emotions is an uneducated basis for your assumtion!FACT

  • Well I will tell you that is does take skill to work in the mines, can you run the machines and do the kind of work these men do, I do know about coal mining. You must not be very educated yourself with the errors in your grammar and spelling. I know lots of miners with a college education. Several of the boys that graduated with my daughter have college educations and are working in the mines. So as for your "FACTS" as you call them, you are wrong.

  • I will also say that just because you have an college education does not mean you are smart. I know a lot of educated dumb asses. Just met one in particular on the youtube, the user name is danielwvu.

  • As ddkbachman pointed out, you must not be very educated for you have many grammar and spelling mistakes in your comment. Coal miners are not unskilled or uneducated. It takes a lot of skill to run the types of machines they use and to do the work they do. I believe Jesus was with those men and that they have not died in vain. Since the Sago disaster, many more laws have been put in place to help keep our miners safe.

  • I work underground in the Tara zinc mine in Ireland and I remember that bitter cold January morning news coming through of the Sago disaster , to this day I say a quick prayer for those men and their familys and for all miners before I go 1.2km down for 11hrs!

  • my thoughts with u i lost my dad 4 12 2001 in the mines god bless

  • this is so great .. These men will be missed .. my husband works in the coal mines it scares me i just sit and wait until he comes home or wait for some one to come tell some bad news that happened. my husband says it is six inches from hell. but you know some thing i am like every one else these men are brave to work in the coal mines..

  • this is beautiful

  • I aplogize, I wish a gentle Christian blessing to the familys.... God bless the Union... God Bless the kids.. God bless you Dudes......

  • God Damn !!!! God Damn !! My union is UAW 148 God-God-God !!!!!Aw Crap I don't even know what to say !!!!

  • I worked with Randall( we called him spider) and Terry... I have been mining coal for alot of years..Not a day goes by I don't think of them and thier families....God bless all you

  • as a matter of fact.. I talked to Jack just three days before that accident... He wanted me to come up and ride go-carts with his boy

  • thanks for posting this.. I am a cousin to Jack Weaver.... I live near my dads coal mines in Philippi WV.. Every day I fear that my dad might not come home... but someone has to do that job

  • We will never forget you

  • God bless the men who lost there lives in every mining accident. Coal, Metal/Non-Metal. I am a surface miner in Ohio. No where near the dangers of underground but mining none the less. One mistake, One shortcut. You may not come home. Miners are like brothers. God bless all We have lost. and keep all that still do it everyday safe. Miners never take life for granted. • a very wonderful tribute and a beautiful song i come from a mining family and what happen two years ago still is fresh in ones mind the sago miners will never be forgotten

  • The words are great! It's like telling the story. Most times we really don't listen to the words, but it's the timeline of what happened. Beautiful song.
