bird singine is a tradition of many of the nations/peoples that live in Cali. The songs are about life, travels, stories. Many nations have songs for each day of the year!! They dance that you see them do is called the "deer dance" The rattles, or gourds, also have a spiritual element.
I just saw some of the pala bros at the san manuel pow wow at csusb. It was awesome, birdsingers went for about 1.5 hours on sat. Iloved it. On sunday I danced with them. I used to grass dance but man, birdsinging is beautiful!!!!!
