OK SkyAboveWater- you opened yourself up for this one! You said you did not like the "Sweet Sugary" ending? Well, what would you have as an ending? The Aliens devoring the Hess family? The ending COULD NOT have been much different and enjoyed the same success, sorry but it is the hard, cold truth!
Also, this movie was about FAITH, not Aliens, did you miss that, too?
At 5:03, when Mel moves slightly is when the music best matches. I wish you would I edited it more to focus it on the alien and Mel only a little more. Lots a dramatic moments can occur there with this music from Unbreakable
Anyone who questions this movie and it's plot has to understand this. While it is not directly stated by M. Night, he brings up the point that there are ameba in water. The little girl says this in the movie, something like "I won't drink it, theres ameba in it". So it's not the water killing them, which wouldn't make sense since there is water vapor in the air, but its the ameba in the water killing the aliens.
Yeah, dood, I thought that was pretty obvious; I mean, ALL lifeforms must have water, so it would have to be something to do with Earth's water that killed them. I don't know about amoebas, but sum'm like that.
As you like this film and Joaquin Phoenix I thought I would request the film- "The Village" to you. M.Night.Shyamalan who made "Signs" also made this movie and I think Joaquin Phoenix has the lead role in it. Check it out!
Yeah, I really don't understand how people are in love with this movie, yet say they hate the end because of Graham's 'sudden recovered faith.' I mean, that's the WHOLE point... The movie is about how you really can't blame God, not aliens harvesting the earth or ingeniusly crafted suspense; those are just appendages, no matter how good they are.
I think Joaquin Phoenix should be the next Mad Max... because he looks so similar to Mel. Mel had turned down Mad Max 4 because he said he was "Too Old" from the words of George Miller.
Water wasnt the only thing that could kill it. If you shot a rocket at it the alien would die. Same thing with a bullet or beating it to death. Water was just thier weakness. But you have a point and I thought the same thing after I watched it. I dont think they were going to live here only harvest our resources.
Technically they would die as soon as they set foot in the Earth's atmosphere. The water in the air would fill their lungs and kill them...(Assuming they have lungs). Anyway was an amazing film but they needed to pay more attention to common sense I think.
i love this movie! weird twist with unbreakable music over it and it works! nice! i don't care what m. night does bad...i will ALWAYS watch! he earned that at sixth sense... or was it signs or unbreakable or the village etc im super biased i guess... i love you mnight :) please keep on doing what you do!! :) no one is similar to you...
in the pantry scene, when he walks through the door ill betcha the best soundtrack to go with that bit is some of the lord of the rings stuff. you know the song where the ring has been found with the ambient singing with the woman, if you know lord of the rings you'll know what i'm talking about.
Hey I'm gonna download the whole movie of Signs soon maybe in 3 days. Please look at my channel I have a whole list of movies I should dowload. But I need peoples opinions first to which movies I should download.:] by the way great video!
"sudden recovered faith"? The whole point of the film was that Graham was given "signs" of his Lord's existence. The "swing away" said by the wife, Morgan's asthma, and Abigail's phobias of water and untidiness with the glasses. Signs wasn't thrown together randomly; the ending wasn't just tacked on. It is a conclusion that gives what was being built up throughout the entire movie cohesion.
Also, to anyone who doesn't know, the music in this video was used in M. night's film Unbreakable.
I don't 'know' in the sense of having heard the author say it or whatever. But it seems like that's what was intended to me. The way it was shown in slow motion, the music during, and the role that portion of the film had in changing the main character's faith.
I remember watching this movie and loving it. I think I was 12 at the time? Can't really remember. Anyways I especially remember the part when we saw the aliens on the TV, there were these girls in the theater that screamed bloody murder. lol It was funny. Of course my dad had to ruin it by pointing out the fact that it was stupid for the aliens to try and invade a planet that was 3/4 water....Parents and their damn intellect.
I was 11 when I first watched this and suspense was horrible.. In a good way..
I actually remember me shaking when they were having their "last meal" (I suppose) together and Mel was getting all loud and takin everything.. Seems silly really.. "Maybe I'll have some POTATOES!!"
I was hoping you'd save The Orange Man for the end part when Mel Gibson starts putting everything together and when Joaquin Phoenix starts "swinging away".
I agree about the buildup in this movie...and also the ending. Your editing was wonderful. I have never heard anything by James Newton Howard, but I like it.
Oh, and even though you said you never heard anything by James Newton Howard before - I'm pretty sure you have, but are just not aware of it.
He's done so many scores for great movies ("The Devil's Advocate", "Primal Fear", "Falling Down", "The Sixth Sense" - I could go on forever) that it's almost impossible to not have come across something he did... :o)
Oh no! Does he live? Does he die?? :P James Howard! I love him too! I liked the first song the best and I thought that the music was in perfect timing with the video.
"Unbreakable" that reminds me of that movie called "Unbreakable" hey wasn't that with him too...? No, it was Bruce Willis right? (yeah just assuming that you have seen the movie:P)
Anyway, I also liked how you made this video longer, but I guess it kinda needed to be longer. Can't wait to see your next video.
I don't want to spoil it for you so I won't tell you about the ending. :-D
I have seen Unbreakable, too, and the three songs I used for this video are actually part of the Unbreakable score, so your connection to the movie was pretty accurate. :o)
And speaking of connections: Both "Signs" and "Unbreakable" are by M. Night Shyamalan who also did "The Village" (good movie by the way in case you haven't seen it yet) which again stars Joaquin Phoenix. Talk about patterns... :o))
i like this video u dont have to watch it now

Signs WAS a good movie. The only thing that I wanna know is why does an alien want to come to a planet that is 75% the only thing that can kill it??

what are you talking about? you have no idea how their body works.
My evidence is the water in the atmosphere didnt kill them. So in short you are wrong.

At 5:45, that scene from the alien's point of view and the water coming down represented baptism, and the rebirth of faith.
