  • I would like to add to your list of names, Pipe Major Tommy Shearer , one of the greatest pipers of the great Highland bagpipes. I really miss him and those mighty drones, the video is a great tribute, thank you so much .x

  • I haven't lived in Scotland for a long time, so it's come as a shock to find out Rikki Fulton is dead. I used to love 'Scotch and Wry' as a boy.

  • very good tribute but you have missed out the following entertainers, The great accordion player Will Starr,one of the best scottish singers Robert Wilson and also another great accordion player Bobby Mcleod from the island of Tobermory.

  • My heart breaks at this song. It's so about all the Scottish entertainers when I was growing up and listened to on the telly. It reminds me of family, friends, Hogmanay, coal fires, real tea, spotlessly clean home, closeness of family. It's all about childhood memories, which last a lifetime! R.I.P. To all past family, friends, relatives, neebirs and the Auld Yins! :(

  • Here's another three greats from an earlier era:Robert Wilson, Will Fyffe and Harry Gordon.I am 37 and love them even though I don't remember them,I was brought up on that era of music by my dad and think those artists had such a love for Scotland which came across in their music, it helped to make me proud of my country. Great vid by the way.

  • I have not cried so much for such a long time. I didn't realise how homesick I was. After 18 years in Spain. I'm only 38 but I have a huge crush on Roy Williamson when I was really small. i loved the Corries. My uncle took me to see them loads of times. My mother always said that Tom and Jack were distant cousins but I think everybody in Cambusnethan said that. We are really proud of them. Thankyou so much for this video, David. Please do another for the rest of our absent friends.

  • Yes there are many great scots from entertainment field like Fulton Mackay, Alex Harvey, Iain Cuthbertson and so on, but had to keep to reasonable amount of pics for the 3.48 minute song.

  • Thanks for these great memories.I was brought up in Hurlford in Ayrshire in the late 40's and the fifties, and all these scottish legends,I remember as if it was yesterday, and sometimes I wish it was.Life seemed less complicated and much easier then. It probably wasn't for my parents, but growing up then was fun.
