I would like to add to your list of names, Pipe Major Tommy Shearer , one of the greatest pipers of the great Highland bagpipes. I really miss him and those mighty drones, the video is a great tribute, thank you so much .x
@weeGeorgiegirl Thank you very much for the nice comment, I hope to get round to doing another slideshow to add those not on this one. We're a nation thats been blessed with fantastic talent, thanks again.
Thank you so much for this memorial to some great Scottish entertainers. I know there are many more that you wanted to include. Can we hope to see a part 2 to this very thoughtful video?
There are many many more...Billy Rusk...Johnny Victory...Jimmy ("just leave the keys and I'll lock up!) Neil....The three Tommies Morgan, Yorke & Lorne...Sammy Murray...The list is endless
this works the magic of tears of sadness and smiles of joy at the same time whilst listening to this your thoughts go to all you have lost friends as well as entertainers A big thanks to all who worked hard to put this together
As a wee lad I heard most of the entertainers who paved the road for us Scottish entertainers. With a lump in my throat I thank you for the way you paid Tribute.
All the best to you and all of Scottish Entertainers
very good tribute but you have missed out the following entertainers, The great accordion player Will Starr, one of the best scottish singers Robert Wilson and also another great accordion player Bobby Mcleod from the island of Tobermory.
My heart breaks at this song. It's so about all the Scottish entertainers when I was growing up and listened to on the telly. It reminds me of family, friends, Hogmanay, coal fires, real tea, spotlessly clean home, closeness of family. It's all about childhood memories, which last a lifetime! R.I.P. To all past family, friends, relatives, neebirs and the Auld Yins! :(
I grew up listening to al l those entertainers. They helped give me a great priode in my Scottish heritage. There must be one hell of a ceilidh going on in the better place.

Thanks for the comment. My Dad will be with them he loved Scottish music so much.God Bless you just wished he was here today to see what is available on the internet today. He would love it
Thank you, always meant to get round to do another tribute to more of our great and missed entertainers but have been so busy with study that haven't had the time.
Nice wan.. Scotland`s best... hello to the `A` bros. from Neil. (I tried to book them for the Loch Long Hotel at the turn of the centuary after booking the great Valerie Dunbar who unfortunately passed on before then.) Keep up the Good work.
Thank you, i always planned to do another tribute to include others but have just been so busy. We have so many great entertainers that graced scotland and the world so hopefully i'll get a chance to do another one soon.
Here's another three greats from an earlier era:Robert Wilson, Will Fyffe and Harry Gordon.I am 37 and love them even though I don't remember them,I was brought up on that era of music by my dad and think those artists had such a love for Scotland which came across in their music, it helped to make me proud of my country. Great vid by the way.
Chic Murray "I was walkin' doon the High Street the other day, tripped an' went a' ma length on the road. Ah wis pickin' maself up when somebody says "Oh, have ye fallen?" Ah says "No ah'm tryin' tae break a bar o chocolate in ma back pocket!"
I have not cried so much for such a long time. I didn't realise how homesick I was. After 18 years in Spain. I'm only 38 but I have a huge crush on Roy Williamson when I was really small. i loved the Corries. My uncle took me to see them loads of times. My mother always said that Tom and Jack were distant cousins but I think everybody in Cambusnethan said that. We are really proud of them. Thankyou so much for this video, David. Please do another for the rest of our absent friends.
Yes there are many great scots from entertainment field like Fulton Mackay, Alex Harvey, Iain Cuthbertson and so on, but had to keep to reasonable amount of pics for the 3.48 minute song.
Thanks for these great memories.I was brought up in Hurlford in Ayrshire in the late 40's and the fifties, and all these scottish legends,I remember as if it was yesterday, and sometimes I wish it was.Life seemed less complicated and much easier then. It probably wasn't for my parents, but growing up then was fun.
Can;t wait to get back To Scotland from NZ and crawl around all the old Glasgow pubs singing all the classics, the youth should know these days!

I haven't lived in Scotland for a long time, so it's come as a shock to find out Rikki Fulton is dead. I used to love 'Scotch and Wry' as a boy.
